I can't believe this came up again in my feed! Oakland was voted the Whitest little town in America on several occasions according to my little sister who still lives in NJ. Maybe that's why we pine for the good old days when we still had control of our culture and communities. Africa for the Africans, Asian for the Asians, White countries for everbody? Thank the Khazarians for that.

Until they were ripped down sometime in the late 90s/early 00s, both the Chapel and the Dome were the last vestiges of the old Edward Day Page Estate...All gone now!

Went to OMA from 1949-1961. Changed to Oakland Academy (no military) in 1956. Most of this video is earlier than 1950. I remember all the horses named. and I can name a number more: Turnpike, Escapade, Sugar Plum (Bumps), Miss Canada,, faux pax, Diane Brady's horse: Caramel, Nils Lommerin's horse: Goldie & Miss Pep. It's only the last portion of the video which was shot in the 50's

@@williampalleria2381 I spent most of from school time after Oakland in Worcester, Otsego County New York. My father had a 125 acre dairy farm. Since my fathers was not planning to pay me after graduation, I went back to the city area and my first employer was Radio City Music Hall on the Service Staff. I was an Usher, elevator operator, had a fixed post at the exec door. I was promoted to an usher Captain after a 5 min chat with the President of the hall and then made one of the assistant managers. Lots of Fun how ever spent most of my adult life in banks and bank vaults.

I remember this place, plus Mullers and Sandy beach. The day of the Jamaican Jamboree I was at the Riverdale Armory for our drill weekend. We were put on standby until late evening so we were available to help search for weapons if needed. The story we heard was that Mullers wanted to build condos on the property, OR sell to a builder that wanted to. The town wouldn't approve this so Mullers started holding events that the people wouldn't like to force the towns hand. I don't know how true this is.

Hi Kevin, I have a question - Upstream of the weir above Potash lake on the right bank is a framework bar structure. It sits on a rock and cement bulkhead with stairs on either side going down to the water, but ending well above the current water level. To the left is what looks like the remains of a diving board mount. Do you know what that structure is? I went through your videos and did not see anything that matched that location. Thanks!

I use to take riding lessons there in the early 60's. I always got a gentle horse to ride named Matinee. (had a roman nose) Always drew straws for him and got to ride him every time. There was a horse named Crew Cut, Apple Sauce, and Lucky Strike, a big white Hunter. A little pony named Mickey Mouse ridin by a young boy. That big white horse in the film maybe that is Lucky Strike looks like him.
