Thanks for the review. Help, I can’t seem to hear audio back when I use it plugged on my phone. I was on stream lab (app) connected directly on my cell, they could hear me but I could not hear them, when I plugged the headphones I could not hear anyone by me.

Can you control an external dac amp with the wave xlr I’m using a sound blaster g6 to power my 6xx headphones and recently purchased the wave xlr but can’t figure out if you can control the g6 with the wave any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Justin,, That larger mount would work well for a couple of large diaphragm mics that you wanted to do a reasonably wider spaced A&B stereo set up versus XY. Great video!

Great video. Question- I am a videographer and I go on corporate meeting shoots where I get the mixed audio signal from the sound guy. I use my F6 to record the audio (xlr in). I then route the audio line out into the line Iin (3.5mm) of my Blackmagic ATEM extreme iso switcher which routes the audio to the other recorded video channels. The problem I have is a buzz in the audio on the recorded atem tracks. On the F6, audio is perfect so the problems is the 3.5mm line out to the 3.5mm line in. Any suggestions to get a cleaner audio feed?

You have a sensitive component, and the sound your hearing could be coming from any piece of equipment in your studio with a bad earth, take it in reverse with a speaker and switch on thump, its not the speaker, probably within amps etc, cables... My ZDM-1 sounds nothing like your set up, or you could turn it into a new type of instrument yours sounds like a set of bongo drums and steel drum mixed LOL - Great video thanks its a cheap mic in the end...

If there's no delay with Bluetooth to ios then why the delay still in headphones? Also, if they don't want to give headphones wireless monitoring then why is the jack so crap?

2035 has bigger membrane what MUST affect the result!

Thank you SO MUCH for this, especially the untreated room test. I was leaning toward saving for the 7B, but due to living circumstances I can't really have a treated studio. Hearing the quality in the untreated room was that similar, on something that's now less than half the price (especially since I already have a good preamp), is really going to save me. Eventual goals are still 7B, but this let me see that in my situation and useage, the 7B's strengths (outside plosives) can't shine in comparison. At least not to a degree that makes it worth the extra $220 for me.

Well 2 years later and the ZDM-1 is now half the price at $50 compared to the AT 2040, I agree the 2040 is very odd but the problem is when it sounds bad it's really bad and sounds super nasally and flat and the ZDM-1 is more consistent and sounds better even than when the 2040 is sounding good

Self noise & SNR of the AT2020 makes it unacceptable. The SNR of the AT2035 & AT4040 are at 82db and much better than the AT2020. I've used AT products since the late 1970s. I've owned the AT2020, AT2035,AT4040 and some of the smaller condensers. I currently own 3 AT2035s and 1 AT4040.

I think if you fart into the microphone the shield can contain the smell better, but that is about it.

Have you done a podmic vs at2035?

Be aware that this seal is fiberglass. You should use a mask while working around those frayed fibers. It’s such a stupid design. You’ll probably notice your super itchy and irritated skin from the fiberglass that’s now imbedded in your clothing. I will never purchase a dryer with a similar gasket moving forward.

Thank Justin for this UNIQUE video. As of today, August 1st, 2024, yours is the ONLY one on RUclips that talks about update 2.0 for Zoom F6. That's strange because it includes a feature that allows 32-bit float audio interface support. I have one question, please. Four years ago, when it was first released, some people reported that Zoom F6 has Line Out issue. Has it been fixed in 2024? Or do the users still have to use the workaround? Thanks again.

I have an mv7 for my dynamic microphone. The AT 4040 will be an excellent condenser microphone and is worth the investment. Amazingly clear audio from what I've noticed.

I have been using same mic and Wave XLR. Is that possible to leverage the sound for live streams and live mic monitoring video recordings? Definitely I’m getting better sound with Rode Rodecaster Pro 2 than Wave XLR with Shute SM7B. Please help with Wave XLR to get better sound.

The 20 series have such harsh highs and they're not even real condensers really bad quality 🤮

I just picked up the 150/130 double package and I also got a pop filter and a mic stand with it all for 50 bucks. Kicker is they were purchased and never used. I got lucky on Facebook Marketplace. So far, no complaints through an Apogee Ensemble interface. Actually...quite nice

You can always spot this mic immediately in blind comparisons due to that massive high end boost which is harsh and sibilant as hell. Whoever designed this must have hearing damage.

Great review. Still wonder why they don't just ship it along with the unit and add that price. So annoying!
