    Looking into a pitbull trs on a non-enclosed trailer. I have a couple of questions. Do you think the wheel chock is neccessary when using a trs? Have you ever had any problems with this setup?

    • @chasmoto8217
      @chasmoto8217 7 дней назад

      For me the wheel chock helps hold the bike once it is on the trailer before I get the TRS locked in. I also feel the wheel chock helps hold the front wheel from moving sideways during transport. I have trailered hundreds of miles using the Pit Bull TRS with no issues or worries. If I am using ratchet straps I'm always worried if a strap has loosened up or if a hook has come loose. No worries with Pit Bull TRS. I made sure I have the TRS bolted into steel angle iron on the trailer so I'm not relying on plywood or decking alone. Wood rot is always a concern.

      The Honda DCT system on both the GE and AT are amazing and flawless. Just roll the throttle and go. I shift using the paddle shifters so I control when the shifts happen up or down. If you forget to shift down in manual mode the DCT takes care of it for you. I had no issues off road on the AT but didn’t hit very technical stuff. Can’t see it having any problems. You have to remember to use the rear brake in certain situations like slow maneuvers. Takes a little practice. Econ mode?! Come on man - at least Tour mode LOL! Awesome ride. This road reminds me of WV 33 with the curves and grade signs - perfect riding for the GW DCT. • @chasmoto8217

      I use Econ mode to smooth out throttle response. I'll twist is all the way around if I feel the need for speed. If I use Tour mode and certainly sport mode, throttle response is just too twitchy for me at least. Smooth is fast - so they say. We weren't going crazy with the wives on the back of the bikes either. I don't think we hit much of 33. My favorite was 93/42 (Union Hwy) coming down from the Mt Storm Power Station. @@chasmoto8217 Great video thanks. Another option for a smooth ride on roads like this is tour manual. As you know the big Wing will actually downshift in manual mode when you reach the minimum speed for that gear. Those shifts are virtually imperceptible. I'm right next door in Maryland and I use this technique on chill back roads and just use my left index finger for up shifts letting the bike do the rest. how do you like the DCT? Would you buy it again or go with a manual transmission? What concerns me is the slow maneuvering and spins without the friction zone. I guess you probably just ride the rear break and it's not that big of a deal?

    • @chasmoto8217
      @chasmoto8217 8 месяцев назад

      I would not hesitate to buy it again. Many think the DCT is an "automotive automatic" type transmission - it's really a traditional gearbox with dual clutches and shift solenoids fitted to it. I have no issues with slow speed maneuvers - and yes, dragging the rear brake is the key. When you drag the brake it forces the clutches to slip - essentially same as slipping clutch on traditional gearbox. See comments on the "twisties" video. They are piling up.

    • @clay1883
      @clay1883 8 месяцев назад

      Well, I think you have to use the clutch and toe shift on a straight shift to "override" the gears on it too. Have you ever even ridden a bike with DCT? You choose what you want and what you pay for. Don't knock it until you try it. Also, the DCT is 7 speed, the straight shift is 6.

      @@chasmoto8217 Interesting how folks shift differently? On my GW DCT I leave it in what would be 'A" mode similar to automatic but far different; then I use the 'paddle' levers while in A mode and shift up and down as I please. In a couple of seconds if you have not made an input, the bike shifts up or down depending on RPM and speed. My favorite way to ride and I don't have to use A and M unless I want to ride in sport. Sport mode gives the throttle a very itchy 'trigger' finger, FYI. Regardless of your style the DW DCT is great for many folks. (Many don't know but a large % of newer 18 wheelers are DCT ! when did they change the name from Sabre to Fury?

    • @chasmoto8217
      @chasmoto8217 10 месяцев назад

      According to Wikipedia, "Beyond the chopper-style Fury, the VT1300C line offered three conventional cruiser models for 2010, all of which remain in the lineup for 2014: Sabre, Interstate and Stateline.[57] Honda previously used both the Interstate and Sabre names for other models, the most recent being the VT1100C2 Shadow Sabre." At some point all of these except the Fury was discontinued. The Fury is still available as a new bike today.

      Funny you ask about the Sabre. I just got it out of the shed today, dusted it off and took it for a ride. Check out Sean, from SRK cycles, take on the fury, sabre, stateline, interstate. ruclips.net/video/bfPFpzSobiY/видео.htmlsi=zA4cDHoVWBpu32Ms&t=563

    Why was it showing speed while sitting stationary? Was that a bug you got worked out or normal with aftermarket gauges? I saw on your other post you had to change some parameters within the gauge. Is that simple to do? Still happy with the gauge?

    • @chasmoto8217
      @chasmoto8217 10 месяцев назад

      I had the bike on the center stand and put it in gear to show gear indicator and speed. Very easy to change parameters. Much brighter than stock gauge. Still happy? Absolutely.....

    I didn't really fancy the new silencer when you ran it in your garage but once on the road it really is a sweet sound and no noisier than the stock pot. But with the baffle out it sounds really meaty - like a Ténéré on steroids! I'm thinking of putting a Lextek on my himmy, which is a similar kind of sound to the Rooster, a little sharper maybe, especially with the baffle out. Sweet sound for a sweet bike. Ride safe buddy!

      I am very happy with the tone of the exhaust. Sounds nice. I think performance has improved slightly with exhaust and intake modification. Still doing break in miles so haven't really rung it out yet. Ride smart, Ride safe!

    Any noticeable performance change? Cost?

    • @chasmoto8217
      @chasmoto8217 Год назад

      I do notice an improvement in performance. I'm still breaking bike in (about 400miles left to go) so no full throttle pulls yet or pulls to redline, but seems to have more torque and a little more HP. I think the exhaust and intake mod has helped. So far averaging 73.4 miles per gallon. The intake mod cost a few dollars for the steel plate. The exhaust was $185.00 USD plus tax on eBay.
