I wrote Love All The Brethren in 1974. Howard and Vestal Goodman were attending Sycamore Hills Baptist Church where my family attended. Vestal had a women's home Bible study in the daytime and Howard had a men's Bible study at night. They clearly believed in speaking in tongues and when some of the people attending the Bible study also got the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues it caused a conflict in the church. The pastor opposed the gift of tongues saying it was too divisive. This conflict is what led me to write Love All The Brethren. I was upset because Vestal Goodman was an aunt of my mother and I loved her. My father thought the pastor was right to oppose speaking in tongues. I hated the conflict.

Continue to love Armond’s music worshipping our Lord, our Redeemer. Very heart warming to sing for Jesus that we love so much and we give God all the glory. Amen.🙏🏼💕🙏🏼

I guess I'm the only one here that will say a few words about this Quartet. When I was just a kid we lived in Melvindale Michigan just a few miles down the street from this church you see in the album. The home of the Toney Brothers. The Gilead Baptist Church Of Allen Park. When all you have is the piano to keep in pitch and time, these 4 could sing to the lord as no one before. I am glad to see this. My Dad has since gone to be with the lord but albums such as these live on. My Mom is 89 and still remembers these fine gentlemen as I do. I thank you for posting this because that cover says a lot of my life with Mom and Dad. Mine is not in great shape, but I have this album in my possession now. Behind them, where the Cross is, is the baptismal Pool. It's where I was baptized. It's in the days when things ment something to everyone.

Their sister's family were neighbors many years ago. Very nice people. Their niece was friends with my daughter and would often attend church together for midweek service. Had this very album and played it often. Their songs are still blessing people today decades later.

WHEN I SEE SPEER SPELLED THIS WAY, IT MAKES ME THINK OF TWO PEOPLE THAT I KNEW IN HIGH SCHOOL. ONE OF THEM WAS MY CLASS MATE, AND, THE OTHER WAS HIS YOUNGER BROTHER: NATHAN AND SEAN SPEER!
