How To Pass Your CDL Test (Stevens Transport)
T-Mo now has a internet to go plan which you might want to switch to...That $50 plan is going to be restricted soon to that home address that you signed it up for...fyi
Heck, no, the trucking industry is terrible.
Every rookie has to make a video
Good vid. I was wondering is it true if you are consistently early on loads, the dispatch will give you less time? I dont want that, i want to relax a bit as a reward of getting there early
Noo not true.. meat and produce loads usually have less time on them but it’s nothing to do with how you drive
I watched all 27 mins by the way
Duo 🥹
Very informative
Great video!
Tried to purchase one but t-mobile said it’s now geo-locked to your home address or whatever address you put.
What is the price for the best tier health insurance they have? And is it any good? I’m working on getting on board with them in Dallas.
I forgot, How long do you stay out??? I"m thinking about subbing to Walmart+ so I can get products brought out to me at truck stops or rest stops. I really do not like bobtailing to Walmarts cause so many things can do wrong
I have no problem parking behind Walmart to grocery shop. I stay out 3-6 weeks at a time.
You mean wrong with the trailer, if that’s the problem invest in a kingpin lock. It’ll save you more money in the long run.
I wanted that Tmobile plan, but I don't really have a real home address. What I DID get about a month ago was a little wifi hotspot unlimited 4G - no 5G) for $15/month. Downloads are slower than I thought they'd be, but it's better than most Wifi networks I was using. At least now I'm not dependent on McDonalds for their internet for game updates🤣
I drove for about 6 years, any company in that field, sees the drivers and a huge liability and have been holding anybody that comes on in front of the bus, waiting for any little thing to drop ya. And that's just a fraction of the problems with driving anymore. Ya'll can have that bs.
Ive been with Stevens for about 1.5 years. I went out from January 1st to August 23rd. 8 months. The only thing i ask of my company is give me my 34 hour breaks. As long as I have those I can run and run and run.
When you need a 34 is your decision
You've toughed it out with Stevens for a while. Longer than most drivers. I know Crete and Davis Express have terminals in Florida. I know Davis stays in the Southeast. Both are good companies for experienced drivers. Stay safe. Always do what's best for you.
99% of truck drivers ive encountered look as if theyre the most unhealthy people ive ever seen. id be shocked if most of them live past 70.
No.
No.
Temporarily... Sure, as a career.... No chance run.
What up bro I’m just finishing with my trainer heading to grad school in a few days. Just wondering what type of miles should I be expecting? I plan on being out 7 weeks at a time to get the full week when I do go home.
2000-2500 average
@@CoachDusty also I’m trying to continue going to the gym how do you do it? Do you park your truck at the gym then move to a truck stop or just Uber over? How do you plan it?
I find planet fitness on my route line then satellite view the lot to see if I can park around back for a couple hours. Never for a 10. Sometimes I Uber yes.
Been doing a lot of research and am just trying to get school started. Your channel (among others) has been incredibly helpful in helping me figure some things out and finally make the decision to enter the industry. I know it's a rough time but I'd rather have experience behind me once it improves than to just start out at that time. Thanks for your videos.
Just finished Grad about to get my truck assignment. Are you a contractor or company?
is this still available? thanks for the video.
Are you still with Steven’s
Here my question I know it’s probably been answered it my iPhone being stupid won’t let me see the answers so 2 questions 1. I have a reckless driving on my record 3 years ago their cdl qualification say no reckless but the application states no reckless within the last 3 years so which is it ? And 2. What is the cpm I am looking for company I know Stevens is mostly reefer which I only want reefer also do you get to pick the truck like freight liner,Volvo etc I prefer freight liner because of storage thanks and wait for your response
Haven't smoked bud in at least 9 months. How hard is it to get hired right out of CDL school?
You’re good bro!! If you haven’t smoked in 9 months. You are great!!
Set themselves up for failure...🤔😅😅😅
I was at Stevens in 2005 and when you got done with trainee/trainee following five weeks with your trainer, you were given your truck and you hit the road. Sounds like they have gotten stricter.
🎉😮
is there a way to hook an external antenna to it like we have for the CB's? Maybe to help improve connectivity
Yea you always going to deadhead from wy
Is Stevens transport a drop and hook or do you have to unload?
@@scottkadair6924 very few pick ups/deliveries are drop and hook. It’s all live unload, you don’t have to unload it unfortunately you’re at the mercy of however the dock staff are feeling that day
Hey man does this still work? I’m seeing these negative comments in the comment section
Do they do hair test?
Is it still working because im otr and im looking for some internet
Yes
Thank you for posting!!! I start orientation on sept 7th! I’ve been following you thank you for encouragement!!! What are some must you feel I really should not forget to bring?
Boots for orientation. I would get a twin bed comforter set instead of a sleeping bag because you will use it when you get your own truck. Pack light because everything gets stored up with you on the top bunk of trainers truck. You can pack heavy your first hometime with your own truck.
@@CoachDusty thank you so much for posting!!! Keep on doing your thing!! I appreciate all the information 😊
@@CoachDustyalso is there any way you could give a break down of what you made financially over your first year?
At 170 hours on my training! Should be back to the yard/grad around August 1st then solo time and my miles before contractor class
Why contractor? After expenses and taxes most lease ops make less money man.
@@renesanchez2210 doing the math there’s no way you can make less money as a contractor Even at the highest payment for a lease being like 800 There’s still no way you make less than 1500 a week But I’m still researching my options and trying to figure things out main reason to do it is that contractors get to choose their own route company drivers have to use a lot of state highways and BS routes
@@renesanchez2210 I may be wrong, but the math I’ve done even assuming the highest lease payment you still can’t make less than 1500 take home unless you have a complete shit week or shitty recaps. Unless I’m in Cali I average around 550-600 miles a day and typically have solid recaps so I should be around $1800 take-home every week and that’s after expenses
@pulsartech2945 yeah you taking into account tires? And tows? Vacations where you still have to make the payments? Tolls? Making zero money aka losing 2 thousand a week during breakdowns? Increased health insurance cost? And taxes don't belive earthing they say about taxes. Anyone who is self employeed pays more in taxes than an employee. That's an objective fact. Also your not running your own business don't fall for that. They run your business but you carry all the risk. I think company is the way to go. Company is at least a guaranteed paycheck
How long total will this process be on average?!
What’s your average weekly revenue?
Worked over 40 years in power plants. (Nukes&Coal) across the country. In-between jobs for 6 weeks. Got a job with a trucking company. (Dispatch/coordinator) It was quite an experience. I made that company the most revenue they have received. I have TONS OF RESPECT for truck drivers. Good folks and hard working.
wym OTR is rough in winter? I'm about to do OTR flatbed.
Snow storms and bad road conditions sketch me out. Rain I’m cool with but snow and ice I shut down.
That's pretty awesome they got you out to California like that. What do you play for videogames? Console? PC, laptop, etc?
Gaming laptop call of duty

@@Supertrucker66provably 3 months
What happens if you miss a day of training or leave early?
Is this after you go out with a trainer or is this orientation
Dude, you are describing my story!!! Was doing good, moved to TX. Doing sales, it sucks. Strongly considering driving. Doing my research to try to find the best place to be. Start over at 49
am I able to still apply with no experience with my cdl from a different school
At Steven’s transport they have both Peter’s and Ken’s can you choose which one you prefer I really want the Peterbilt 579 with the 80in sleeper could I tell I want that
Why u call it death?
That’s not true you can not used that device traveling states .
That's what I was thinking
