Im newish to this hobby. Always been facinated by old coins, what stories they could tell!! Where they have been and who carried them. Ill admit i dont have a ton of knowledge and have definitely been scammed a time or two. But i now own this computer that goes in my pocket and have absolutly no problem researching right in front of them. Had a few sellers start getting really nervous watching me look up what they were selling, obviously i didnt buy. One guy, i stayed atound his stand all day telling everyone he was scamming with fakes and way over charging. He wasnt happy at all. But the guy in this video, was absolutly trying to scam.

I see a lot of people disagreeing but I think what he says about it storing wealth to the next currency kind of makes sense. it’s a good idea to look at it that way instead of a bartering tool if you stack silver specifically, where way more people know gold is valuable convincing someone that your ounce of silver is worth morw than a square of toilet paper could get difficult

And the second he days 40 bucks a pop im calling him out on his shit because no one needs to be ripped off that much... for 40 bucks i could purchase that same Franklin and a ounce of silver at a coinshop.... 50 bucks for a peace dollar??? No.... they are like 35 dollars at my lcs. And the ammount he was willing to drop his price shows that he definitely knows enough about coins to give reasonable prices.

You definitely need to know what your doing. Its kinda funny because my best metals and coin guy is at a flea market. But he is established. 37 years to be exact. Dude is legit. He stays busy. I been doing business with him so long i been getting rolls of BU mercurys and Roosevelts for 125$. Thats BU. BU Washington quarters 240$ a roll. I can get those deals non stop if i needed to. Of course i have spent tens of thousands of dollars to get those kinda deals. My point to all of that is there are some legitimate good dealers out there. You have to educate yourself on numismatics akd precious metals. If you don't know what your talking about then your just asking to.get ripped off.
