Brother SE 2000 Bobbin Winding & Threading
Here's a sub-par instructional video of bobbin winding and threading the Brother SE2000 Sewing Machine. I didn't have a lot of time to make it as I was super busy laying by the pool.

@@user-hk9xl9yg7m crap that sucks! I highly recommend taking it to a shop with professionals, however, if you’re super bored you can use tiny little needle nose, pliers to try to bend it back straight. I don’t recommend it, though cause you could break the whole thing.
Mine is doing the same shit. I guess if you can do it i will give it a shot
@@davidsilos7241 given the fact that I have as much mechanical engineering skills as a chipmunk that has been run over by a truck, if I could figure this out you can. I recommend there’s a couple other videos that really show the details better and I found out that I didn’t need to 3-D print a gasket. You can buy gasket material and just cut it out with scissors or something. I wish you luck!
I just bought a new one model 4423
@@merubapodara I hope you enjoy it!
I love the way you explained, it was really easy to follow. I would appreciate if you can make a video about the Malfunctional kit 32 and demonstrate what each of the foot does. It would be amazing. ❤
@@shamseaktar well that’s a super nice thing to say thank you! And I wish I had the experience to know what each of the 32 feet does in that kit lol. I’m a beginner in just about every craft that I’m interested in. Jack of all trades master of none unfortunately.
@@kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113 its always good to be jack of all trades and you dont know who you will be teaching a thing or two while you go along (like me). But i'm on a similar thing, trying to learn and better myself at sewing. Any good content on youtube always helps. Thank you! Stay blessed.
hi, thank you for this video! i like the singer 4423 heavy duty, but mine has a foot control cable, that is way too short to sit and sew ergonomically: only 125 cm from the machine to the footcontrol. how long is yours?
@@alltagszauber thank you for watching! It seems this is a common problem with this model. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a solution. One option is if you have an electrician friend or go to a repair shop, they should be able to lengthen the cord, but you have to do it right, of course to prevent any fire hazards, and I’m not an electrician. I don’t have this machine anymore as it was not my favorite so I sold it. But I distinctly remember the pedal barely reach the floor. I don’t know Singer trying to save a few dollars by making the cord shorter? Other than that maybe email an online supply like sewing parts online and asking them if they sell a third-party pedal that has a longer cable? Sorry, I don’t have a definite answer for you.
@@kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113 thanks a lot for your helpful answer! so its not just my machine. i try that and maybe contact some singer channel, maybe feedback helps at least future buyers?
@@alltagszauber can’t hurt! And maybe if they have a Facebook group
@@kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113 thats a great idea, i will tri! !
How often should this deep cleaning and serviceing be done?
@@sherrywilliams1131 of course I’m no expert, I think the general rule is if you sew a lot at least once a year you should have your machine serviced? But I don’t see why if you do a simple clean in between projects, the lint that accumulates in the bobbin area and under the bobbin case and maybe inside the head where the take up arm is? I feel like your machine can run for over a year or two without needing a deep clean, but that’s just my big old guess 😬
Shall we take bets as to whether or not this machine ever sews again?!! ha ha (My Singer is overdue for it's trip to the shop, I wonder what they'll find inside!)

I sat here till the end. Im intrigued by sewing machine roaur videos.😂
I’m so sorry you watched the whole thing 😅
I dont like to keep that end cover thing screwed on because i like to be able to remove it when i need to. The design of this machine is actually terrible but its popular and cheap.
I would imagine that would save a lot of time
I tried to open that end door on my machine because I could see the fuzzies in there, but I never could get it open. I have to take it to the shop soon.
@@grandmajane2593 I feel like a good cleaning, solves most problems with sewing machines
I didn't want to pay to have mine oiled and cleaned. It was a littl scary.
I have to put some lithium grease in mine, and push the feed dig mechanism back in place.
Great job! So satisfying to be able to repair your own machine!
I'll never open mine again either.😂
😂.
I took mine apart. The same model. I struggled too and had a few screws left over at the end.
Hopefully one day I settle on just a few machines for myself that are.. 1. Sew amazing and more importantly, 2. Are easy to take apart and maintain.
You home repair guys need to start a habit of designating a special little dish to hold all the screws, gaskets, nuts, etc. ---- good advice from grandma!
The front cover is held on by a screw that you get to from the open back. With the back cover off, look into the machine toward the left inside quarter of the front cover. The screw headis above/near where the front’s stitch-selector knob is. Reach it by sticking your screwdriver from the back to the front.
Ooooo good info! Thank you!
I did that. It's quite devious
Superb shots and angles! Thank you!!

It’s a good machine!
oh Kraftaculous! oh i summon thee to lay your heavenly hands of craftyness upon my meager sewing machine who has lost it's way (by the way, it's a Singer HD 4411) because of the bobbin has lost it's mojo and it's no longer working! lol!
😂… who .. summons .. me… (use genie from Aladdin’s voice lol)…. I’m sorry about your bobbin. My very limited knowledge of Bobbin problems is if it’s a metal bobbin after many uses, the metal can actually kinda wear away at the plastic bobbin housing which would mean you would need to replace the whole bobbin housing. However, if you are bored and take apart your bobbin area and look around to see if there are any needle hits maybe the needle punctured a little bit of the plastic area sometimes you need to sand that down with sandpaper and try to make glass smooth again and also the bottom part the bottom part. Or see if you need to tighten the bobbin housing screw thingy … I’m no help at all am I… welp, Going back into the kingdom now to slumber😂
Thanks for this. I’ll keep it in mind as I have the same machine. Any chance you know how to sharpen or replace the thread blade on the side/back of a serger?
I do not have experience changing blades out or sharpening them on a serger. On regular sewing machines, if you can open up the “head” area housing the side thread cutting blade, you can remove it with pliers from the inside. I imagine it would be a matter of ordering more blades for that machine. 🙂 Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU for showing the auto-threader!!
Thanks for watching one of my earliest videos. There’s so many things wrong with the video lol not that I’ve gotten that much better ha ha
Thank You for this tutorial - Very much appreciated

@@kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113 🤪
There is an idle jet circccuit to clean as well, refer to the 2000i vids as it's similar carb and lots of vids.No need to remove the throttle servo just unplug, you were lucky not to have the spring go wizzing across the room. These carbs are easy once you remove from the motor.
I was lucky i figured out how to put anything back where i found it.. 😅… I learned a lot disassembling everything, thank you for the info!
I know the manual says for us not to oil it, but i figured that they just want the repair companies to do so we don't over oil it. Anyways, is that the only two places this model needs oil at? I have the same machine has been going great for years now. I clean it out where i can reach, but your video makes me want to open that sucker up 😆
I feel like maybe machines built not to be oiled had a long lasting oil that doesn’t need oil put on top and ruin it or something? But what do you do if lint and fuzz obviously is stuck in the oily parts, or it’s been longer than the oil could handle and it’s hardened or gummed up? If I find a machine that needs some lovin’, I remove any sticky or gummed up oil / grease and clean and then anything that moves or slides against metal on metal or plastic gets grease and oil… 🙂 I’m sorry I didn’t do a thorough video. I don’t have the machine anymore, but if you are adventurous enough to get at least one side off or the bottom, basically anything that moves or slides against each other I would oil it and if it looks like there’s gears rotating into other gears maybe put fresh grease on those , and clean them
Many thanks! I have my original Designer SE from 2004. Never changed the knife blade , no wonder it was not cutting thread.
😂I didn’t know they were changeable for the longest time!
Barbeque Lighter Fluid works well - and I actually use Naptha to remove old grease - along with a toothbrush to soften up & remove the old grease - and then rinse it with more lighter fluid - same goes for the adhesive left behind from the stickers.
Yeah, I forgot about barbecue Lighter fluid. For me everything just seems like it’s gotten really expensive so i’ve been using what I have around the house … for the stickers using the heat gun was the cheapest for me and then a little rubbing alcohol. Sometimes I use a little WD-40 for glue residue.
Regarding Oil - I carry a FULL SYNTHETIC Sewing Machine Oil that WILL NOT gum your machine up over time - whereas the common "Mineral based sewing machine oil CAN AND WILL Gum up your machine over time. The LED Bulb would be the same one as the one that i sold to you for your Pfaff 1222.
Hey, great to hear from you again! Thank you for sharing the information about your sewing machine oil!
THank you. I've been thinking of getting a 4423 and your vids are helpful.
It means a lot to me if my videos actually help out someone. 🙂 That being said, I’ve heard a lot of reviews saying the “heavy duty“ is just a name Singer is adding and people that are trying to sew heavy jeans or heavy material are not 100% happy, but then you would have to upgrade to an industrial machine or a vintage all metal machine which are many hundreds of dollars if not $1000 or more. For a beginner machine, I don’t see why this isn’t a good start.
Whats up with the Russian brides web page? Ironic joke or hilarious mistake? Lol
Probably both 😆
It's made in Switzerland, buddy.
That’s good to know, in 1990 they opened up a factory in Thailand. I’m not sure which machines are produced there.
You just need to wait a few seconds before you restart the system as the circuitry on the board still has some juice a short time after power off. Most likely the time it took you to unplug and plug the cable was enough to complete the shutdown.
I swear I tried every logical combination, but yeah, that makes sense. Thank you.
Lol, just got my own laser cutter and yes, it is great fun!
That’s awesome! Post a video of it let us see! I believe I bought the cheapest possible Chinese laser cutter with no filtering or enclosed case and it’s been sitting in the shipping box for over a year cause I’m afraid to even set it up lol
It was nice to see that machine nice and clean but it sounded ‘clattery’ when you ran it. Mine is very smooth and quiet when clean.
Yeah, it was a little clunky. I wouldn’t even know how to begin to fix that. However, the machine worked perfectly for a long while on some projects, and then I just sold it
You saved my life (and my printer)! Thank you very much!
If you only knew how happy it makes me that my terrible videos actually help someone… Thank you. I’m glad there was something in the video that helped you out. 🙂
Excellent work done, thanks for sharing it. I have a Designer 1 that purchased many years ago but it’s a jewel. Hoping you come with more ideas, you are great 👍🏻
Thank you! I actually had sold that one and then I stumbled across another one and forgot how incredibly strong they are as just sewing machines. I’m repairing it. I was thinking about doing a video but I don’t really do a lot of videos anymore. 😬 thank you for watching.
Stuck on Planet Vulcan for 25 earth years. Unable to beam up. Appreciate the help in repairing my communicator. Waiting for the delivery of my new battery now. Live long and prosper.🖖
😆. I hope you got the right one. The one I found was just a smidge too thick even though it fit I worry about it even though the communicator has been working just fine since this video. I guess there’s a specific one that is the exact same size, but I never found it. Someone may have commented about it. I hope you get off Vulcan before some alternate universe Romulan blows it up.
So what do you think of me owning a 222k, bought for me in my childhood in 1956 it served me into the early 70’s then the timing went a bit out. So the Singer shop owner was disingenuous, as I now know, in selling me a newer second hand zigzag machine. He made me a derisory trade in offer so I kept my 222k because my mother went without to get it for me. So recently I got it out of the attic, found a Singer mechanic who sorted out the timing and it goes like a dream. Meanwhile I bought a Janome which is very cleaver and easy to use but I get the 222k out and give it a fun run now and again. My box never was smelly and after carefully cleaning off the spider gunk it looks almost like new. Congratulations to anyone who reads this to the end.
Well, I think that’s just wonderful! 🙂
can you show how to take cove off this machine
I’m sorry, I sold this machine along time ago. I should’ve recorded how to take it apart. 😔
Thanks for showing me how to replace the switch on a 1222e that my wife bought in England in 1976...
Apologies I don’t really do much with my channel. I look back at these videos and I realize they’re not very good lol, but if you got something from the video that helped you, that actually makes me happy
I thought Berninas were made in Switzerland. Owned by the same family. Modern Berninas still take the original feet. Mine is the 1000 Special. Purchased in 1996 for $695. It works perfectly. Completely sealed. Just some dust management needed. All mechanical. 7 stitches.
That’s awesome! Yes in Switzerland and in the 1990s added a factory in Thailand.
@@kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113 I think all Bernina branded machines are still made in Switzerland. The Bernette models are made in their strictly monitored foreign factories. Not positive. Since Basic, non-electronic Berninas never break, I have only had the one I bought in the late 1990's. Nearly impossible to find used.
Does anyone have a 3000 for sale, will you sell me this one? Thanks all
I wish my channel was big enough that you would have a large group of people to answer your question lol. I’m definitely not selling mine because now that it works I’m super happy but definitely check Facebook marketplace or offer up. Those are good places for used gear.
Hi there
Great Thank You and I would like to know if you can turn off the broken thread notice on my designer 1 It continually stops and tells me my upper thread is broken when it is not
Sorry it took me so long to figure this out. There is a maintenance menu! While the designer one is on you hold down the reverse button and the second from the bottom foot sensor button. This will be the first place that someone tells you which button that actually is, lol. When you get into the service menu, under sensors, there is another menu button. Press that to get into the sensors menu. You can turn on and off sensors. Now I don’t have a thread sensor problem, but there is an option to turn off the thread sensor, which it looks like mine is actually turned off, so maybe that’s why I don’t have a problem ha ha. Play with the maintenance menu at your own risk!
Question, so what ultimately fixed the electric not able to start and just cranked and cranked and cranked? I have one that is doing the same thing, battery is new but just cranks and cranks but won’t fire up.
I wasn’t actually sure what would fix it specifically, which is why I did everything I could think of. Definitely taking apart and cleaning the carburetor also, cleaning the spark arrestor and changing out the spark plug and new filter, remove old oil added new oil and checking the debris catcher under the gas line. Mine actually needed a new battery as well.
But when you first installed the new battery, it still wouldn’t fire up, it just did the cranking and cranking like my. So it must have been what you did after that….. lol but you did everything so we could not eliminate what exactly was the problem. 😅
@@shauchiou9785 end it has been a while since I did this video but now I remember, after the new battery yes, it was chugging like yours was trying to start the red light that was coming on is a notification that there was not enough oil. This generator if it doesn’t have perfectly filled oil, it will not let you start it so that would be the first thing to check But yeah if it hasn’t been serviced in a while, the carburetor might need cleaning and a new spark plug couldn’t hurt, right?
@@shauchiou9785 i’ll be honest you can’t sit through 13 minutes of a painfully long video? Lol, yeah I had to watch my video again to remind myself that it wasn’t starting because the low oil light was coming on. The replacement oil is 12 ounces and the generator needs 18 1/2 ounces.
Carb clean is more than likely what worked. Along with cleaning the debris catch @kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113
