Disney's Halloween Treat – Magic Mirror Intro Restoration
I should begin by stating that my grand vision for the project was to combine all the footage from both Disney's Halloween Treat and A Disney Halloween. Thus, you're seeing the magic mirror in this post.
One last of the ambitious productions in the restore. This one involved AI restoration to both the frame of the magic mirror - as well as footage of Hans Conried as the host. Each of these needed to be handled separately and layered back into position, mainly because one piece was an illustration and one was live footage, and each needed different restoration models.

One of the most ambitious parts of the project. This is as close as I could get to "remastered" as a consumer based on what has been made available. For A Disney's Halloween, the narrator wasn't Hal Douglas and didn't match what was stitched together for the special. I always thought Disney could use digital morphing technology to make the foyer portrait in the Haunted Mansion a little less like a slide show, and more "flowing" with smooth transitions from image to image. Wish if this aired on MeTV Toons, for Spooktacular Series
In the 80s, my four children loved watching this on Disney every Halloween. I eventually taped it as I had a feeling Disney would eventually pull it off the air, which they did, so then we watched the video every year until my youngest was 11 and I ended up giving the video away on Halloween of 1997 to a family with young children who watched it twice in a row after trick-or-treating. But all these years later I still go on RUclips to watch Disney's Halloween Treat on Halloween--it reminds me of when my children (and I) were young and life was not so complicated. Today is the 31st and I'm ready to go down Memory Lane.. Thanks for the upload--I wish Disney Plus would air this, I'm not sure why they don't.

You deserve more videos for this. Excellent job! I saw the original segment on TV as a kid as it really freaked me out. This is classic Disney that's informative, distrubing, and sticks with you. It's a shame there's nothing like it now.

King James Version (KJV) Amen to those warnings given by the pumpkin in this cartoon it is a fact we are to watch out for things like those characters he spoke of in there its no different than the words of warning spoken by Jesus Christ to beware of false prophets in Matthew 7:15 we are to watch out for them indeed concerning the very wicked evils they plot against the just out there in the world.

This is less of a teaser and more of a 'the entire first section of his appearance.' This 'teaser' must have come from an unfinalized take, because most of the FX are missing and the actor's inflections are slightly off.

Honestly, it makes more sense to open up with "Trick or Treat" than "Sword in the Stone".
The AI narration isn't 100% perfect but it's a good remastering I will say

@@MacEricG Well, if you're going to go with three different hosts (jack-o-lantern, narrator, Magic Mirror), I would suggest maybe getting a voice actor (someone online) to do the narrator. The AI for the jack-o-lantern and Magic Mirror seem fine but this one just seems off. Another nitpick would be the "hot time" bit. Seems a tad unnecessary. But I would also add later on with "the cat, which had once been worshipped as a God in the days of ancient Egypt, was condemned as a devil".
The voice is a cloned version of Hal Doulas, the same voice actor that did the original jack-o-lantern. A different VO narrated the original TV broadcast, which is what I sought to replace for consistency - having only the 🎃 and 🪞 voices. The script is the original dialogue from the TV special up thru the “hot time” scene. I added back the scene about the witch hunters because I thought it was relevant to the special, and not something that was originally included.

I remember a few times i went to this ride and she wasn’t there and I was disappointed especially Halloween and Christmas she wasn’t there
