Japanese metal is underrated, especially the 90s black metal scene with bands like Sabbat, Sigh and Abigail in the post-Venom era, but overall great bands there. It's cool to see all these new bands get some recognition though they deserve way more.

Wonderful , educated review. you get it. one of the best things i have seen and heard in years. Yes Miyako did write and arrange the central song. 16 years on piano, and then taught herself guitar... from a BOOK! WTF ? The piano is a digital Roland. has to be for touring, as tuning after moving it every show would be nightmare. Miyako said in an interview , the keys are hard to get used to , and she wasn't happy with her performance of the Chopin piece . Again ...WTF ??? i think would appreciate Frozen Serenade . cheers from Australia, and keep up the reviews please,

I gotta say, no band being suggested holds a wick of a candle to Hanabie. They're just the best of their genre, period. I'm sorry I just can't compare them to others and see anyone above them in their genere, which is a hell of a mixture actually, and they ace every aspect of those, if you break their songs down to their sections.

This is late, but I wasn't able to Comment when I watched it last month. While there is nothing wrong with a 'Lovebites Channel' (my Favorite band), I wanted to help with your exploration. There is Another band, just as talented and mindblowing in composition and musicianship as Lovebites. Unlucky Morpheus calls their music 'technical melodic speed metal' - but the melodic influences are Very classical. And to help with the symphonic sound they have an ex-child prodigy on Violin named Jill who can Shred like a *Beast.* Their Live performances are very theatrical and the vocalist is as amazing as Asami. Dignity of Spirit - ruclips.net/video/x7W9DcUKY_U/видео.html . Glad I subbed, I'm really enjoying your journey to Japan. I really like that you 'get it' with Music - as a musician, it is a JOY to see someone who understands what they are seeing React to really good New Experiences.

How can someone not like or love Lovebites, its beyond me Welcome to the wolfpack! Miyako the relaxed guitarist is awesome at piano as well, she lets her guitar express everything and Midori is energetic AF and interacting with everyone :p Miho on bass has unfortunately left the band but Fami is madness (judgement day, stand and deliver from their latest album) And Im just gonna say I love Haruna on drums, she's unstoppable

All right well you deserve a sub for dropping that classical music knowledge off the top of your head. I love early Kamelot too. Lovebites is probably my favorite symphonic/power metal band right now. I found out about them a couple of years ago, because I was watching a sumo match, and there was a woman in the front row wearing a Lovebites t-shirt. So I googled them, lol.

Yes! Other´s have probably already answered you - but it is Miyako that write their stuff. Almost all of it. Asami is mostly writing the texts. Miyako is a kind of genius. She is a bit introvert and very concentrated on their concerts. Which is by many faulty interpreted as disinterest. You saw her on the piano. Was she disinterested? Nope, just concentrated.

I grew up listening to the Beatles, my first classical record I bought was Grieg's Peer Gynt. I progressed via Black Sabbath to Dream theater and from Purcell to Handel's oratorio's to having discussions about how Baroque and metal are similar ( not many bought it). However, I have always wanted to see the two combined. Swan song is the epitome of my thinking and to hear someone with the same passion, speak with such clarity on this piece is amazing. Mem3nto you seen as I seen it and just for that alone I could watch this reaction time and time again!! By the way did you pick up on the Bach in Miyako's solo. As for the silent break you already know my thoughts on that!! Great reaction on a very complicated and well put together piece, thank you 🤟😎

Thanks for this reaction. I don't know if someone mentioned it, but this band started up just before pandemic. They made that an opportunity and started making covers of another famous bands in various styles, uploading them to their RUclips channel. This way they kept getting extra attention and some of their covers happenned to be amazing... I'd suggest you to check "Forever", a cover of "In this moment", an american band. And I'd also suggest you to check another big hits of Nemophila (and even better songs then Rise, in my opinion): "Dissention", "Revive" and "Oiran".

Thank you for your reaction to LOVEBITES. Your wealth of knowledge and excellent analysis. There is nothing that I would point out. Keep LOVEBITES in your future. Asami(Vo) has been studying classical ballet from the age of 2 to 18. Asami (Vo) was originally an R&B and soul singer. She had never listened to metal music at all, which she says was "music from another dimension. Discover another of Asami's talents, having moved on from R&B and soul. You can then check Asami's wide-range belt from low to high frequencies. Miyako(G, Key and Piano Black hair) started taking piano lessons at the age of 3. At the age of 18, she discovered the electric guitar. Miyako was inquisitive and dexterous in everything she did, so she taught herself with a lesson book, and here she is today. Midori(G Those without black hair.) has taken piano lessons since she was 2 years old, electone lessons since she was 13 years old, and electric guitar lessons since she was 20 years old. Midori was introduced to the electric guitar while attending a well-known, top-ranked Japanese pharmaceutical university. She enrolled in the music school MI JAPAN Osaka to become a guitarist and dropped out of pharmacy school. MI JAPAN Osaka School was reborn as one of the courses of the vocational school ESP Entertainment Osaka from April 2018. Haruna(Dr) can also play piano to some extent. Haruna started learning to play the drums at the age of 13. Haruna's amazing endurance, concentration and improved technique have taken LOVEBITES to another level. Haruna's favorite band is "Helloween". Miho(Ba First bassist) can also play piano and drum to some extent. Fami(Ba A new bassist) can play bass guitar, lead guitar, piano and violin. Fami is also great at keeping up with Haruna without any difficulty. In Japan, piano lessons are often chosen for early childhood education. The delicate, fast touch of their fingertips may be the result of piano lessons in childhood. P.S. Someone should correct any mistakes! Asami plays the 'dying swan' at the end. The song has a Japanese 'enka(演歌)' element to it.
