I always liked the studio version of Alex's solo at 4:19 best of all. I read somewhere that he didn't like it and never played it again like that but I always thought is sounded like it fit better. One of my favorite RUSH songs.

Circus nightmare

BB's drum part is the glue that stitched all of the musical fragments together on this track; he skillfully moves from one groove to the next with clever/artful fills and transitions. The dude was just 23 years old when he recorded that, and Yes was basically the first band he'd professionally worked with for any substantial amount of time. Kind of blows my mind..

Geddy says he was influenced by Chris Squire and I really hear it in the tone he gets here.

Im playing this song for a high school talent show and I’m using this isolated bass track too. Me on the drums and my friend on guitar but we have no bassist so I have to connect this to a bass amp or speaker. Any tips?

Hearing the other instruments; is that headphone leakage, mic bleed or is it deliberately done for context? I don't hear any keys or vocals until that last little arpeggio tag, so I'm tempted to think Bill, Chris, and Steve were recording in one room with Jon and Rick were in booths.
