This was my first ever Gi Joe as a kid, definitely picking it up. The term Leatherneck comes from when marines fought with swords and wore thick leather collars to protect their necks from slashes. Later it became ceremonial dress for the core and the nickname stuck.

Great review brother! I have a couple issues with this figure as he is supposed to be a Marine. First off, his boots. They should be jungle boots and his trouser legs should be rolled up higher (blousing the boots). This makes him look ridiculous. Second, his haircut. You'll never catch a Marine with hair like that or even a 5 o'clock shadow (actually that depends on time of day haha) unless they are on terminal leave and EAS. His chevrons on his lapel should be matte black, not a gold color as gold is reflective and will def give away your position to the enemy (sun glare). Don't even get me started with the belt and cords, and holsters and all that. Or even his backpack (which should be an Alice pack).

Just wanted to correct myself - I told Gains 2CW was the wrestling show he was looking for but they shut down a while back- the local show that sounds like ECW is more than likely GCW (Game Changer Wrestling) - Apologies on that, my knowledge of the New Jersey wrestling scene is a bit outdated since I just got back to the states after being in Germany for the better part of the decade. New sculpt is a wayyyy improvement but IMO still not great ….The best falcon head sculpt is Star dusters head (yeah it’s just Duke with black but fuck they are half brothers 🤷🏻 makes sense they would look alike)

I popped her head off and put a retro scarlet head on her and she serves as my tiger force scarlet (not my idea a lot of people have been doing this )
