    I have a black 191J and I can’t figure out how to attach it to a cabinet. There are no holes for hinge pins to fit into. Instead the circular metal things are attached to the back of the machine. I know for sure it came out of a cabinet previous to my ownership. Any ideas??

      I’ve since sold that machine so I can’t check it but I have a 201 and the pins on it are held in with 2 small set screws. If there are no set screws possibly the pins are just stuck in the body of the machine. You could spray some WD 40 on the area and gently try to twist and pull on the hinge and see if they will loosen up. Hopefully that helps. Thanks for watching!! Terry

    Nice machine. I have 9 industrial sewing machines, all have servos of different manufactures. None of them make any noise. I had one servo motor that made the same electrical growling noise, not as loud. The company sent me a new motor didn't even want the old one in return. Matter of fact I have that bad servo motor in a video I made "difference between a brushless and a brushed type servo motor".

    Wow thats far out. Must not be very many sewing machines with direct drive. It may seem simple at first but wow thats overly complicated to work on it and to replace parts you probably gotta take the whole thing apart. I have a merc800DR. Its a 80hp 6-cylinder mercury outboard motor with direct reverse. There is no neutral. And the entire motor spins in reverse to go backwards. Two different electric systems two sets of points in the special distributor and a bunch of other weird stuff. But no bulky gear shift in the lower unit. It was a huge flop. They only did it in one year (1963 i think.) I wonder how long they made direct drive sewing machines for before they gave up.

  • @cobre7717
    @cobre7717 6 месяцев назад

    That looks like a great solution. However as crazy as this sounds i just priced it out. The brand new servo motor is cheeper than buying new belts pullys and pillow blocks. Its pretty crazy how cheap the servo motors are. I just ordered one for the 111w i got running. But im definitely keeping an eye out for used /free pullys and pillow blocks for the other machines i am getting back in service.

      Hi Javier. I’m not sure the proper name of the fitting but it has a taper on one end for the flex pipe and standard pipe thread on the other end to thread into the gas supply pipe. I used a TIG welder but I would think you could braze it on too. Thanks for watching. Terry.

    That is a beauty, and will last a lifetime with basic care. But, this engine requires a fuel/oil mix of 16:1. Ignore all the stupid advice about "newer oils being better", even some of the dumb advice from OMC. These engines have delicate plain rod bearings that will fail/pitch a rod if lighter mixtures are used. The amazing thing is that these old engines will hardly smoke at all, if in good tune, even at 16:1. Thankyou for keeping the original pressure tank and not buggering it up with some crappy aftermarket fuel pump set up. Take good care of this little gem

    I've been monkeying around with this same idea. I have a Juki LU 1114-4 unison feed on a huge Mitsubishi needle positioner running on 3 phase 220 with a rotary phase converter. It's noisy but boy does it punch through. I think I'm going to do this exact mod. Thanks!

    • @cobre7717
      @cobre7717 6 месяцев назад

      If you have 3phase you can get a vfd! its a variable feed driver. Can change the hertz and make the 3ph motor go any speed down to a crawl. You will need to add a fan to help keep the motor cool because it uses the same amount of electricity as full speed but dosnt have the fan on the motor shaft spinning as fast anymore.

    Is this a Singer industrial treadle? I can't gauge the diameter of that wheel. I think that is the principle difference between the domestic and industrial treadle models - other than the corresponding size of the frames. I don't know if I could power a 96-10 that I have an eye on, on a Singer domestic treadle. Thx

    • @terrylevasseur2819
      @terrylevasseur2819 Год назад

      It’s just a domestic treadle. I think a lot depends on what type of material you intend to sew and the speed you want. I sew mostly canvas on this one so it has the power but I do find it’s a bit fast in some situations. Thanks for watching!
