@@edge1289 I have a 78-1 just like the one in this video. Sews great with size 22 needles and 138 size thread. But shipping would be a little much it's in western Wyoming.
@@edge1289 It's a top walker no feed dogs below the bed. You would have to find a table and motor. I just ordered a brushless 750 watt servo for another machine and it was only 125$.
Is this a Singer industrial treadle? I can't gauge the diameter of that wheel. I think that is the principle difference between the domestic and industrial treadle models - other than the corresponding size of the frames. I don't know if I could power a 96-10 that I have an eye on, on a Singer domestic treadle. Thx
It’s just a domestic treadle. I think a lot depends on what type of material you intend to sew and the speed you want. I sew mostly canvas on this one so it has the power but I do find it’s a bit fast in some situations. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! I’m going to hang on to this one for now. It’s a pretty cool old machine. Depending where you live there’s one for sale in Ontario on Kijiji right now for $200 Cdn
Hi from Marrakesh. I love this kind of sewing machine. My husband offered me a singer machine but I'm dreaming to have the oldest singer model.
Love the old machines nice find
Thanks for sharing! Awesome machine
Nice job! That's a cool looking treadle stand.
Thanks! Just 3 layers of birch plywood on an old domestic stand.
I would love to get my hands on an old walking foot. Great find, and awesome restore!
Where are you located about? I have one but just the head weighs about 60 lb.
@@totallyjonesin New Jersey, what do you have?

After cleaning the bed, did you spray it with clearcoat to inhibit rust and provide some uniform finish?
I didn’t. I just put a little sewing machine oil on a cloth and wipe the whole machine down with that. Clear coat might be a good idea though. Thanks!
What's the red liquid you put on it??
ATF fluid. Seems to work good for loosening things up. But get it all wiped off before you sew. It’ll stain your fabric.
What did you use to clean it?
I used a scotch cloth and automatic trans oil. (ATF) Seemed to work pretty well.
Do you plan to sell this one? I have it in my bucket list to acquire this machine 😍😍😍😍
