Persian (Farsi) language & grammar lessons
Welcome to my channel! My name is Pontia (the "i" is silent). I'm an ESL teacher with an MA TESOL, introvert, animal lover, and avid language learner. I also love writing, so I started my blog, My Persian Corner, over a decade ago as a way to explore my Iranian heritage. I share language-related blog posts and cultural explainers, through the lens of an Iranian-American, for those interested in the Persian language and Iranian culture. I feel more comfortable writing, but a while ago, I decided to take the plunge and step in front of the camera to teach Persian/Farsi on RUclips and social media.
I use techniques from my degree to bring you quality, practical Persian lessons, but as a one-woman show, it's not easy talking to a camera 😄 Regardless, I'm happy you're here and hope you consider subscribing as that's the best way to support these free Persian lessons for everyone and really helps boost this channel!

Likewise in turkish… Kitap mitap, pencere mencere, küçük müçük, 🙂
In Turkish (i think closest language to persian in terms of language mindset) we say: “10 parmağında 10 marifet” 🙂 تو ۱۰ انگوشتش ۱۰ مهارت
Thanks for your efforts, I am very interested in learning and kindly I need books or I need to download the sheets needed please

Would I say, “Man Narahat” or “Man Narahat Hastam?” @mypersiancorner
the latter, but it's more natural to use the contracted form and say narahatam
There is a similar expression in Turkish that has the same meaning. It is “elinden her iş gelir” which literally means "every work comes from his/her hands. After some research, I realized that this expression in Turkish has a twin in Persian. Itʼs: از دستش هر کاری برمیآید (Az dastash har kârî barmîâyad) The expressions, words, etc. in Turkish and Persian are very similar. This is because the two civilizations have been in contact for a long time. Therefore, it is easy for someone who knows Turkish to learn Persian.
Vielen Dank für Ihre Erklärungen ❤ farsi ist eine sehr schöne Sprache

سلام پانته ا سلام - سول زبون یادگیری | hello - language learning question Hello Pontia! I love your blog, especially your pages about the idioms are wonderful for helping me to learn and understand! It really makes the learning very fun to scroll your blog, learning idioms and stories. If I may be so bold as to ask - do you know of any farsi movies with subtitles in farsi, preferably light-hearted or kind of cozy? But anything with a happy ending is good. To be clear, I am willing to consider "lovers die together / for each other / knowing they love each other" to be a happy ending. Of course, that's just a romantic example! I am perfectly fine with no romance. I just want something that's not too graphic / gory (or where I can avoid those parts), and not too dark. I'd like to ask you instead of my Iranian friend, because if I ask my Iranian friend, I think what I want might not be understood very well! But you know America, so you probably have a good idea what I mean, even if my definition of happy is happy to include a lot of things that don't fit the American definition, lol. Basically, I'd like conversation in persian, with persian subtitles. I understand farsi best with both spoken and subtitles together. And it's easiest for me to learn a lot of things if I can listen to conversation, not just learning videos. I understand and remember words and phrases better that way. I hope I have not been too long-winded! I love your blog, most of all for your explanations of persian expressions! That helps me to learn words, too, and it makes it fun! I wish there were more blogs like yours on the internet. I love the stories you illustrate expressions with, and the way you write the persian characters on the pictures, but we can read it in the english so I can at least guess what the vowels would be. I love scrolling your blog for the bits of persian, it really helps me absorb words so I recognize them later when I hear them in videos! Anyway, I hope I haven't been too long! I will express my thanks, and please consider my thanks expressed, before I spend pages going into detail everything I liked, which is what I will do if I don't wrap this up. خیلی ممونو I'd try to be more eloquent, but I cannot spell in persian yet. Thank you, thank you very much, -Sky
I thought I knew the uses of که , but wow I’m so glad I watched this.. thank you!

I will try to learn and use this phrase! Thank you for teaching it ❤
I'm so glad you like it! Let me know how it goes when you use it 😊❤️
Ok
Engaging delivery. Suggest you add aunts, uncles and grandfathers and mothers. Muslims have strong family ties, Europeans and Americans are nuclear in comparison. Add khalu jan and baba...
Thank you! Yes, that's true, but I didn't want to get caught up in reteaching that vocab, so I just added a few I hadn't taught before. The phrases can, of course, be used for any extended family as well.
Accepted.। Wishing you a merry XMas
Very useful. Thanks ❤. Any alternative and less formal ways to present condolences? Thanks for your answer.
