    Very helpful video! Fellow singaporean here too. Can i check how do i use the changi app to make payment if i want to avoid paying the 3% fee?

    • @gibbontravelogue
      @gibbontravelogue 2 дня назад

      Hey, so glad you it helpful. The Changi app has a pay icon at the bottom menu. Tap on that, and you can see the wallet option at the bottom. To use it, you will need to top that up using your bank account. When making payments in China, let the cashier know that you are paying by Alipay.

    3% over 200RMB. Is that for all users or just foreigners with credit cards linked to the WeChat account? How about if we link a debit bank card? I guess my question is there a way to not pay the 3% fee over 200RMB?

    • @gibbontravelogue
      @gibbontravelogue 4 дня назад

      The 3% charge is for foreigners who linked their credit or debit card, likely for WeChat to cover the cost of the fees charged by their visa/mastercard acquirers. For locals, they will linked their bank accounts to WeChat.

      Hey, not sure if they are any apps in India that uses the Alipay payments rails and absorbs the 3% fees. If there aren’t any, one way to avoid it is to break the transaction into smaller transactions if it is possible. For example, if the payment is for 300rmb, you can ask to pay it two times for 200rmb and 100rmb.

But a few questions: 1) I don't know if I missed it, but how much did the train ticket cost from Guangzhou to ZJJ ? 2) The entire trip was just 1 day ? Was it enough ? Or you wished you'd stay longer ? 3) Are there any accommodations once you get there ? Or you went back to the city after that ? There were a few more in my head while watching the video, but forgot..lol. Oh well...

      Hey glad you enjoyed the video. WeChat Pay is ubiquitous in China but I don’t think Korea uses WeChat for payments. And wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

    Easily to Changbaishan West slope from Changchun follow by North slope then back to Harbin with HSR.. West to North slope can get hotel to grab transport, about 2hr. Changbaishan tickets can use both slopes within 24 hrs. Enjoyable.
