    I haven't tried setting up a dirted tank yet, but your dirted tank series has inspired me to give it a shot. I've been doing some research and came across a discussion in an online forum mentioning that dirted tanks can develop a pretty bad smell over time. Has that been your experience after having your tank running for over 180 days? Really loving your videos! Great work.

    Amazing but without water circulation the oxygen will be depleted. Dissolved oxygen, produced by plants won't be enough for all those fishes, even if they are small... I'd say shrimps and snails would be great for it.

    • @codmandchill6714
      @codmandchill6714 День назад

      Actively swim fish and shrimp does provide water movements thus exchange of gas occurs, that amount plant in the video is more than enough to provide DO for that kind of biolod. The only worries is just dont OVERFED. That will give a fast swing of water parameters given the volume of water is so small

    • @StoopidMonkey08
      @StoopidMonkey08 День назад

      @@codmandchill6714 while what you said about overfeeding is true, still during night time plants readily take up oxygen too, when the photo period is off. This won't be a problem for larger tanks with less stocking but it's different here. I wanna see the update of this after some time to see how it's doing.
