#1 Learning depends on retrieval (either repeated practice or using skills that call upon what was learned) and actively thinking (writing/talking) about the skill. #2 Focused learning - Undistracted practice Diffused learning - Undistracted downtime Declarative learning - Learning the concept Procedural learning - Practice makes perfect #3 Motivation is the key piece - change your perception of what you’re learning: Make a list of benefits Set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Ambitious, Realistic, & Time-limited) goals - long term, milestone, & process

Hi Baqir, thank you for the great video! Some of Dale Carnegie’s recommendations are outdated. Especially at a time when social media platforms steal the majority of our attention, as you also mentioned . Despite this, “How to win friends and influence people” is one of my all-time favorite books. I have already read it twice! But it made me think of how to apply the principles myself. How can I remember little details about another person, like their name or birthday? How can I make them feel important? I just found a simple tool that helps me do that in a non-intrusive way. Dex is a personal CRM manager focused on reminding you to stay in touch with people instead of sales pipelines. It even integrates with all my social media accounts. I think it is the best way for anyone to make the principles of this great book a habit. :)

I think the easiest short cut to beat procrastination is to break down your task into smaller chunks and see the task as those small steps. Remember, we procrastinate when the tasks are difficult for us. Therefore try to make your tasks as simple as you can. I hope that helps!
