    Hello I don't your name but if you answer I'd be so glad. There is a confusion between upper case "i" and lower case "l" in sans serif fonts that's why I researched fonts but there aren't so many fonts which don't have this confusion so I mean why they don't make fonts with a distinctive "l" charachter?

    If you are looking for content ideas, I'd love to see you cover programming fonts. In recent years, there has been an explosion of monospace fonts supporting beautiful, and easy to read ligatures for common character combination found in code. The font that made ligature popular is named Fira Code, but there are many more. Lately there is also a new trend where some fonts having a completely different typeface for italics. Popular coding editor themes like VS Code use italics for certain programming keywords, and these fonts will make those look more visually distinct compared to plain old slanted characters. For example, the free Recursive font ("Rec Mono Duotone" variant) supports this. Common paid fonts that support this are Monalisa, Cartograph CF, and Operator Mono

    Hot take: If you're designing for the web to the pixel, you're doing it wrong. Every style is a suggestion to the browser, and any declaration can be changes or ignored by it, either because of bugs, updates, add-ons or user preferences. If your design breaks because of small font metrics changes, it was already broken to a lot of users out there.

    • @PimpmyType
      @PimpmyType Месяц назад

      Well, they don’t load/store the webfonts via cookies. When a website uses Google fonts to host the fonts, Google could theoretically track your browsing behavior across several websites.

    • @OneBrokeBloke
      @OneBrokeBloke Месяц назад

      But i know that you need to get the users consent to use remote google fonts. So if they decline my cookie popup, and it does not disable the fonts, then the consent or lack thereoff did nothing? Because Google can still track it then

    While it is a good-looking font, I think it should stay clear of user interfaces for the time being. UI fonts should be focused on legibility and acessibility across a number of different devices, display sizes, and dimensions. Inter, Helvetica, and fonts like like Apple's San Francesco only look good on print or high dpi aplications, suffering from poor legibility at lower display scales without using too agressive hinting, and even then they still can't come anywhere clear the legibility of fonts like Clear Sans, DejaVu Sans, Noto Sans, Roboto, IBM Plex Sans and B612 which where all designed with computer interfaces and legibility in mind. Gnome developers recently proposed changing their purpose-made UI font, Cantarell, with Inter and while a good portion of supporters are onboard with it, I, and many others, think its a massive regression both in recognisability and accessibility by having a font that js both less unique and identifiable but also less readable and accessible. It's the same sentiment I had when apple moved away from Lucida Grande to Helvetica on most of the OSX interface. Helevtica was not only less reconizable as it was a more generic style of sans serif, but it was also less readable due to its letter shapes and stroke widths, as well as kerning and spacing being designed for print, rather than for digital displays. Although it matched Lucida Grande in it also being a print-first font, its more unique letter shapes, more recognizable ascenders and descenders, and looser spacing made it more suitable for computer displays than Helvetica was. While it is hard to objectively measure a font's readability and accessible, the choice between one typeface or another shouldn't boil down to "its trendy" or "looks good".

Also, editing comment, it would be nice if you showed examples and difference on screen for longer to give people more time to digest these sometimes subtle difference. Intriguing. Might need a minor rename so systems recognize it as a separate font from inter classic and prevent website text formatting from being altered.
