Hello! Now I was known as "Freddie's Allotment" but I am now known as "The Young Gardener". When I upload videos is really when I have the time to do it, I may have four videos out in one month and then one the next. I will try to produce the most amount of videos as I can. Well this week has been a busy one. On my no dog allotment this week we have been so busy from planting plants which will grow me an amazing produce for the family to eat. Wow, I would have taken the old bench in a heartbeat if I was local! The paths are looking amazing and the new bench and greenhouse set up too. Can I ask, do you have a favourite containerwise tray? One that you find maybe you use more than the others? Would love to get some but as you say they are expensive so trying to choose wisely :)
Wow, I didn’t think anyone liked them! Haha my favourite container wise trays are the 7x4 very useful for everything other than deep rooted plants. I got 10 of them this year and I think they’re about £7 a tray. Also try checking out there used section I got a 84 seed tray and it is a bit scratched up nothing wrong with the structure and it will be fine. Only got it as I wanted to see what the used section is like and well it was dirt cheap! Thank you

The new benches and greenhouse set up looks good welldone. What do you use the battery to power?
They look great don’t they! The solar panel on my shed charges my battery which then powers stuff like to charge camera equipment, my phone, lights, motioned sensors lights for thieves. Very useful!

Yes nothing better, we built in in lockdown and it’s done us good! Absolutely I recommend start doing a vlog, my tip is to take your time, if it’s been a month since your last vlog than so be it. little tip Tennis balls can be used to prevent ponds from freezing over by creating waves that keep water moving
I’ve heard of that! Never tried it out, I have seen other people do it before and the tennis balls freeze as well. A bit of wind and a tennis ball would work a treat! Thank you!
@@THEYOUNGARDENER if you have sola power you can also use a floating pond heater or some heating element on a thermostat it works wonders for me i installed sola power last year in my greenhouse at isnt too far away from my pond
I bet that warmed you up, lifting that dump bag of leaves in to the compost bin. 💪🏼 Love the branded mug. Busy time at the allotment. You really are cracking on. I also find myself staring at the robins.
Yes it was so heavy! Wet and sat there for a month so it was not fun, haha. Yes an extremely busy time, this is where I make all the plot look fresh and brand new so it is ready to all be go go go with plants. The robins are so nice! I love digging and feeding them the worms and watching them take them. Thank you for the lovely comment and I have to say I’m a bit jealous of your extended fruit cage! Haha Thank you

Isn’t it so interesting! I love seeing all the photos, I have an sd card full for me to go through! The thing is mine takes a photo of the sun rising as well when the sun moves in the ground. So there’s hundreds and hundreds of photos! Haha thank you!

get an old football and put it in the pond or a milk carton filled with half water but dont brake the ice on ponds can kill any fish or wild life thats hiding in there other wise nice video were did u get the cloches
Yes, stuff like that is strange , I’ve done the ball trick before and it freezes with the pond! You get so many different answers of do smash it and don’t smash it, there are no fish in that pond as I moved them to the pond at home for the winter which is deeper, but I will see what works for me. Thank you

If there are fish in the pond. Little plastic balls floating on to should reduce freezing. Provide an opening for fish. A container on the ice filled with hot water will reduce shock to fish
There are no fish in that pond at the moment, I moved them into the home pond which is much bigger and deeper so they could stay warmer, this year I’m going to dig it deeper and put many plants in there to create a little haven! Thank you for all the tips! Thanks

Yes! I’ve never grown strawberries from bare root plants before. I may try it and get some new plants this year as I’ve used these plants for a few years and they are not doing so well. Thank you! ☺️
