I drive like you are supposed to pass in the left then merge right to keep the lane free. Well, I got some information for you. One of my watchers told me I need to do more research. And he schooled me on what the base was. So this is all the information he gave me. The US Navy began building the 1734 acre base on Alameda island in the late 1930s. For more than 50 years, it was a repair and maintenance facility for the Navy aircraft, including carrier based planes and helicopters. Eventually, the base was closed in 1997 due to budgetary constraints. But over 10 years would lapse before that Land was returned to the city of Alameda. Since then, the city has been researching how best to develop the area. Portions of which remain contaminated by a variety of hazardous materials. The base was declared a super fun cleanup site in 1999. And that’s all the information he gave me. Hope that was enough. But it would be nice to get some old footage of it too. @@JoyCool1 Very interesting. I was a US Coast Guard Aviator. I went to Aviation Electronics school in Elizabeth City, NC. That base was a Training base as well as an Aircraft repair and maintenance facility. Although on a smaller scale it had some similarities. I guess Navy Alameda reminded me of my past. Thanks again . Hanging it was the rough part, majority of the pipe hung back then was done off scaffolds using pulleys and come alongs to get it in the air and wooden A-Frame ladders. They used homemade pipe dope with no Teflon and used chain tongs and granny wrenches with cheater pipes on them to pull it in. Yea, no doubt they were a rough and tough bunch of old school men.

California. I was on vacation in Australia last summer and I couldn't believe how all the systems and components were just placed outside buildings. Outdoor parking garages all had wet systems.

No, it does not freeze here in the San Francisco Bay area. But up in the high Sierras in Lake Tahoe, and all those buildings up there, they definitely do not have wet systems.
