This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS.
In this game, my opponent seriously overestimated her hand, and lost all her clothes. Watch till the end!

This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. It is a knock-off Artworx's great Strip Poker from a couple of years before. It plays decent, but the images looks a bit dated, even for the time. #nostalgiapump #makdewithkdenlive Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 1:09 Game Intro 1:31 Game Play

This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. This very basic shooter has an Adult skin which gives it a bit of novelty, but for the most part it is not a very good game. #nostalgiapump #makdewithkdenlive Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 1:06 Instructions 2:32 Game Play
Centerfold Squares - 1988 - MS-DOS Game Review

This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. I go into a little more detail into the genre of Adult games in the 1980's, and the issues I had to get this game to run properly. The game itself does run properly with a little tinkering, and plays a mean game of Othello, otherwise known as Reversi. Highly recommended. #nostalgiapump #makdewithkdenlive Chapters:...
Strip Poker a Sizzling game of Chance - 1985 - MS-DOS Game Review

This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. This is one of the earliest strip poker games on the IBM PC. Released by Artworx, it features two models who individually play strip poker with you. Graphics are very early CGA composite, but the poker game is good. Sounds are pretty basic too. #nostalgiapump #makdewithkdenlive Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 2:20 Gam...

This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. This conversion from an Arcade game of the same name is pretty good. The controls are a bit weird, but that is easily managed by re-mapping the keys with DOSBox-x. Game play is fast, furious and very difficult. #nostalgiapump #makdewithkdenlive Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 2:06 Game Intro 3:25 Mapping Keys 4:32 Gam...

This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. This pretty good conversion of a bike racing game still plays well and looks good even today! Missing is a bit of sound to set the atmosphere, but if you had a tandy back in 1988 when this game came out, you would have really loved playing this title! It is super hard without a joystick, and I suppose pretty hard ...

This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. This is a spiritual precursor to other football games, in that you control various characters, one at a time. This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. This great little platformer plays well, and is quite colorful for the time. Star Rank Boxing II
Просмотров 138Месяц назад
This game was released for IBM Personal Computers and compatibles running MS-DOS. This boxing simulator has had a lot of effort put into it, and I particularly like the replayability as you level up your character in this game. Unfortunately the game play itself in the ring seems to leave a bit to be desired, as the controls are quite laggy and that makes the game quite difficult. Maybe that is...

Plays far too slowly. I want to see a proper sim of the vector graphic version
Hmm, I went to great lengths to ensure that I emulate machines that were available at the time. Maybe you played it on a more modern machine?
@@msdosgamereviews I found the instructions about using CTRL-F11.
I played this on an IBM Laptop with an orange/black monochrome display that ran WIN 3.1 Loved this game and remember EXACTLY how the setting in our house was with me dabbling DRILLER. Oh boy... good times
So glad to bring some happy memories back!
@msdosgamereviews ❤️
RUclips notifications have been really wonky lately. I've been subscribed to your channel and got the "All notifications" enabled but I never get any notifications whenever you post something.
That is really interesting. I live in a country that cannot be monetized, so no ad revenue, and no ads on my videos. (I hope) So, RUclips makes nothing by recommending my videos to anyone. I'm not saying that this is the reason, but it could be a contributing factor.
Bit confused by this one. I remember playing the first Strip Poker by Artworx back in 1985. When Strip Poker 2 came along it had colour images of the ladies instead of pixel art. Looked much better than in this video. Is it a graphics card or monitor issue, or did they just do a bad job of the remake 🤷♂️
Hi there. Yes, this was not Artworx, but a different company that jumped on the band wagon. I'll review Artworx's Strip Poker II shortly, and this will be the one you remember!
1:36 I presume you meant Ripley, the main character. Ridley Scott is the director of the some of the movies in the _Alien_ franchise.
Yes! I misspoke there. Thanks for the correction.
Those instructions 😂
This game is just terrible! Fine, it makes the other games look better. :D
Please do chuck yeager air combat!
Already did: ruclips.net/video/DvJeSUsyPps/видео.html
This also was on the Commodore 64. Not as fun as Gunship, but it was fun.
I guess with a bit of practice the game becomes more fun. The controls were a little alien to me
This was the best game in the 80s. You had Vietnam, USSR and flying the top helicopter around after only seeing Hueys in Vietnam. This was hours and hours of action and it changed with each mission. They even had the auto rotation. It worked. I was there. No engines d/t enemy fire and still landed and made it back home. The medals were great and the awards ceremony with the higher ranking guys.
Wow, I am so glad you enjoyed it! The game is a pretty good one, especially for the time it was released!
Hey now. Now this is what Im talking about. Filth!
Scope FTW! I think they stopped publishing in mid nineties.
With the little stars? Fun times
My First PC Game, was a Shareware copy of Commander Keen 1. It also had a Cheryl Tiegs Clock on it, she was in a Bikini: At 7 I thought this was Pr0N, and Made sure Mom never saw it LOL New Sub: Detroit, Michigan, US
Penny is the kind of model who sells a game like this. 😍
There were a few other models too!
This guy looks like exactly the kind of person who would play a game like this.
By this guy you mean me? I read the comments, you know. And what exactly do you mean by that?
@@msdosgamereviews What do you think I mean by it? 😉
I think there are a few ways to interpret your comment, some of which are very presumptuous or offensive. To give you the benefit of the doubt, I asked you to explain your comment. Just so I don't draw any premature conclusions on what type of person you are. ;)
Real hardware does not have these problems, because software is not capable of emulating hardware accurately enough. Just buy real hardware.
Even if I could buy real hardware for every single game from that era, where would I put it all? Sometimes you just have to be practical about things. The emulators come pretty close.
Not all emulators are the same. Some emulators are better in some aspects than others.
I was probably 9 or 10 and my next door neighbor's father secretly had Leisure Suit Larry on their 286 PC. We used to sneak around playing it when they weren't around.
Is your name Michael? :) Because he came over playing LSL1 with me on our 286 in CGA - and with 'playing' I mean trying to get past the 18+ quiz in the beginning most of the time. Too bad I found out about ALT-X years later...
@@surject Sorry to disappoint you, but I am not Michael. As I vaguely recall, my friend had an older brother who told us some of the quiz answers. I also played Kings Quest and Space Quest there, still favorites of mine. I used to love Sierra games back then.
Yeah, we just played it as we had very little parental supervision.
@@dono42 Same same. LucasArts as well ofc. Google eXoDOS and have fun.
I also prefer amber. It takes me right back there.
Yeah, me too. It is amazing just how much it brings you back.
what a weird one
What can I say? I agree with you!
@@msdosgamereviews ha ha wee
first ever strip poker?
I can't say for sure, but this definitely was one of the first on the IBM PC. Squeezing out every last bit of performance from the CPU and CGA available on the platform at the time.
woah good skin tones for ega
Yeah, I was suitably impressed!
If i ever find this game for my Amiga 500, i might NEVER switch off that computer ever again 😹!
Well, it was released for Amiga: www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=1832
I know there is a copy for the Commodore 64. Im ditching this Nvidia graphics card with AI I use now for 1986 tech.
you shot an oil tanker!
It was in the danger zone!
Hey, there was a 2D black and white submarine game along time ago! Do you know of this game? It was on PC and C64 I think! 😁👍👍🇺🇸
There were a few. I would recommend going to MyAbandonware.com, and filter for "submarine" you might get lucky!
I meow admitting one thing 😹... I still have STRIP POKER II 😻❤️🌹 for my Commodore 64 (loose, tape) and Amiga 500 (CiB, Top Short release) 😻😹😺👍🕹️. I also have SAMANTHA OF STRIP POKER 😻❤️🌹 for my Commodore 64 (loose, tape) 😻😹😺👍🕹️. The graphics on the MS-DOS look cool 😸😺👍.
Thanks! It is amazing that the graphics were this good in 1985! I was not even 10 years old yet! For the later strip poker games I'll go into their history a little more in-depth.
I wasn’t alive in the 90s let alone the 80s, but it’s still fascinating to me to see where games started and how they evolved over time. Thanks for uploading
I realized that having played these games when I was young, I lived through a special time, and wanted to preserve some of that for people like you, who has never seen these old games before.
Parece Hang On do SG-1000
What is SG-1000?
a bit like Alley Cat, another cool dos game
Yeah, Alley Cat is one of the first games I played and reviewed here as well. It is so well written that it still works just as good as the day it was written.
@@msdosgamereviews i loved alley cat as a kid. i need to fire it up again, it's been a while
@@torgo_ When you do, make sure you enable the tandy sound and pcjr graphics. :) Also, the game runs really well at high clock speeds, but the bit where your cat is attacked by a dog runs too quick, so you need to step down emulation speed to about 400
I have played this Sega Arcade game on my Amiga 500 back as a young little boy in the early 1990's. And this is the first time, i see the PC version of this game. The game is hard and challenging 😹, but the graphics look nice 🐱👍🕹️.
Yes, that is how they got replayability in the old days. They made the games super hard!
i am so not a sports person, but for some reason i often liked these super early gaming era sports games. maybe its because the play loop is more similar to a shooter of the era, and more advanced sports games (past 8 bit i've noticed,) handle more and more like the actual sport, and i get bored lol. i have wanted to get into DOS emulation for a minute now, i've just had so much going on that i haven't gotten to it. i generally feel like i would choose the garish magenta/cyan split, as i like how strange and offbeat it is, and i just love those colors, but you kinda sold me on mono-amber. its warm and inviting, and it is quick and easy to make sense of the pixel imagery. neat stuff, thanks for putting this out there.
It is my absolute pleasure. My emulator of choice is Dosbox-x, the SDL2 version. It runs pretty much anywhere, and gives me a stable platform on which to run the games. There are, of course, the occasional game that does not want to run. I am setting those aside for now.
Have to agree that I don't really see the cat doing anything that would justify the "bad" title, unless wearing a bandana and sunglasses counts.
Supposedly later in the game, according to the manual, you ride a motorcycle and visit a bar. That _still_ does not qualify as bad, though.
You might be my only hope. When I was a kid we had a PC built by my uncle. It could print banners on a dot matrix printer and it played one game.. i think the command was dino.exe. I can not find this game. I remember that it was very primitive and was two tone. Any thoughts??
What were you doing in the game? Was it a platformer? I did find one game that had a dino.exe startup, and with this game you are sort of building dinosaurs. I have not reviewed yet, though. www.myabandonware.com/game/dino-sorcerer-vo
I meow as a big fan of the cats 🐈🐾 😺👍. Also, i have BAD CAT (CiB, tape) for my Commodore 64 😹👍🕹️. When i saw that game at a finnish 🇫🇮 website somewhere in the early 2020's, i meowed crying of happiness 😹. In fact, i was not the only one to want that game 😹. There was a bidding battle for it, and i won this game for 24€ 😹😺👍🕹️. That game was NOT that easy to find nowhere in Finland 🇫🇮 😹. Graphically, the PC version of BAD CAT meows looking as purrfect as the Commodore 64 Amiga versions 😺👍🕹️. However, the gameplay 🕹️ meows frustrating 😹. A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.
Awesome! Glad you liked it!
Thanks for posting, eh. Had a lot of fun with this one as a kid. Don't think I ever got past level 3, never saw any aircraft.
Funnily enough, the games feel a little easier now that I am older... still, they were pretty hard, and still are!
This is one of those games that made me doubt the relevance of the IBM PC! 1984 C64 "Rally Speedway" ruclips.net/video/RGoLY6tICaQ/видео.html Original was 1979 Intellivision "Auto Racing" ruclips.net/video/kWaUCaRAioQ/видео.html
Yeah, the PC was not originally made for gaming. IBM simply underestimated the market. These days it is pretty rare to buy a computer for home use and not use it for gaming on the side.
3:01 Heh, the car drove straight through the house there.
Yeah, crazy times!
I had no idea there was a DOS version of this game. I grew up playing Starquake on ZX Spectrum and never got very far. 😄 Thank you for your review. 😊
It is quite the difficult game, but each time you play you get further. A lot of my time was spent just figuring out what is going on.
@msdosgamereviews For sure. As kids, we never had the patience to play for a purpose. Just to shoot and collect everything. 😄
Excellent game, played it a lot. Great music and graphics and gameplay. Fantastic. Very hard to end it
I love how difficult the old games were. Made you keep coming back, and when you finally beat it, you know you managed to do something very difficult for the ultimate dopamine rush.
Yeah i played this too!
Yeah, quite a lot of my time went into playing this game in my younger years too!
This game is the best golf game I've ever played
Yes, it is a pretty good golf game!
I played this game for hours when i was a kid
It does look like a fun game!
Thanks for sharing! My dad is Al Jimenez. He wrote this for my sisters and me when we were kids and pac man crazy. He shared it freely on floppy discs and I guess it spread all over! So funny to see it still exists. He was an electrical engineer for IBM back then. He would have loved to have seen it alive and well on RUclips.
Wow, that's incredible! It's amazing to see how your father's game is still being enjoyed today.
You were killed because you entered a minefield in your first two tries. Btw. this has been my favourite game on the C64. Much ahead of its time. Great work as usual back then by MicroProse. Sadly the Amiga version sucks.
Yeah, the mine field was not that obvious, but a few expert players of this game has pointed this out to me. MicroProse did make some excellent games!
The detailed metallic shine on the graphics was a quite big deal back when this came out. Very visually pretty game for its era.
I fully agree, this was amazing for the time!
I'd hazard a guess that the decline in the popularity of boxing is down to two factors - MMA drawing the fighting enthusiasts in as a "more realistic" fighting sport, and increased awareness of the long-term damage caused by hits to the head.
Yeah, those hits do take a terrible toll in the long run.
Wow i remember playing this as a kid and absolutely loved it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I really loved this game too!
Huff!! Lo jugué desde que salió hasta con el XP!! Por ese mismo año también salió el F19 Stealth fighter que también es fantástico!! Gracias.
It really was an awesome game!
I love this game. Still have it on a Tandy 1000 that I play every once in awhile. Sound was/is so much better on those than the PC Speaker! Actually found that 486 and faster was too fast for the weapons to function properly. Have to slow it down for the emulators. Keyboard overlay is long gone but I've got it memorized.Takes a lot of thought and planning if you're into that sort of thing.
Yes, this game, and F117-A both required you to be tactical when you go on missions.
I played the hell out of this as a kid. It came as part of a cheap software bundle that I found in a bargain bin when my dad took me to a software store (remember those?) back in maybe 1991. My god, the repetition involved. I just kept coming back because of the challenge, and the knowledge that there was more to discover in the dungeon. My dad was always amazed to see me playing it years later when there were way better-looking games in my collection. It was so damned hard. But I eventually learned that if I died I could turn the computer off really fast in order to cheat death. I think I was playing directly off the disk drive. Even still, I don’t think I ever beat it.
Yes, the thrill of doing something really hard can be quite intoxicating.
This looks like an overly complicated Star Raiders.
Yes. The concept is pretty good, and for the time it played OK.
