All skills m3 Ling module stage 1 not the fastest possible, a perfect run would have Meteorite on s1 where she fires she grenade that crits and lands the frame after the last enemy spawns while also capturing the Gelato Stop to deal extra damage

When I tried making that little ship, it wouldn't rotate. Has there been an update that changed something? Or, what am I doing wrong?
Average Somali pirate ship versus massive cargo container ship.
I actually kinda use this in career mode where I just have this ship that is just a big ol` chunk'o'armor and then I have 2 vehicles flank the big ship and just bully it around while my Chunk`o`armor suffers
My flag big ship has many mining lasers Not the best break weapon But has 360 radius It has two very long rail guns And same langth mining lasers places Try on that with scout )

I'm pretty sure there has not been any change to missile AI since way before I made this video. Ping me on discord if u find some actual proof.

All thrusters have vector thrust that applies 5% thrust 90deg from their facing
@@SalephzYeah, I noticed this when disabling side thrusters on an enemy ship, only to still have it turn, when I try to flank it...

Interesting. It goes to show the importance of having escorts. A properly formed fleet is better than the sum of its parts. Though I'm sure that a player built flagship could account for blindspots with proper point defense.
It's not cheating. The enemies just didn't have enough point defense.
I don’t get it. Enemy is set to attack from the specific angle and specific orientation, so it constantly tries to get into position. Might as well just disable ai on enemy.
can't disable enemy ai in career so I'm not doing it here. also not sure how much it would help them.
This is a good way to test how well Capital ships are designed.

If such a ship would attack you, you could always just warp away. It's a tactical retreat. Come back with a scout ship, wich is a bit stronger and you win

@@fedoraman. Have turrets covering all approches with energy ammo? out speed the tick so it gets left behind there is counter play with how long it takes the tick to cut through
I mean it figures as you can see. Blindspots are blindspots. Sometimes multiple smaller ships are better than a single big one.

RUclips threw this in my recommended (probably because of liking space and Starsector-type games). This looks fun as hell and that soundtrack is pure fire. Gonna check this out.
also you can capture enemy pirate ships instead of just destroying the whole thing, you can use it as a super storage silo or an attacker base
i'd prefer Monolinth type cuz it has my type of color (White, Blue, Aqua, Purple.)
so the ship didn't fire on the small, there are deck cannons, one shot of which will break it and that's it. I think this comparison is wrong.
plenty of canons fired, it just dodged until they ran out of ammo
it doesn't matter how much damage each shot does if you dodge all of them

All For Now took a couple hours because i was testing different ways to deal with that one side facing deck cannon. In the end, I decided to just suck it up and try to survive the rng... Voluntas took no more than half an hour. The rest were pretty easy, I killed those on my first attempt, but then gave them a bunch more attempts because I wanted to get the run to be as flawless as possible. In total, I think I spent more time editing the video than spinning around, and 70% of the spinning on All For Now

This reminds me of playing X3 Reunion when I would find a nook or cranny on a capital ship and just hide there in an m4 and spend 30 minutes slowly trickling its health away.

Now I want to see a play-through with a single small ship. How far can it get? How much Fame and money acquired?
It Won't get past anything with lasers, rotation ions, or offensive flak.. Deck cannons can be dodged, smaller cannon rounds will be a bit more difficult to evade. It is technically possible to progress thru the game by luring your bounties towards a base or something that will fight back... The extra weight from a storage block and ftl drive would be detrimental to the ship's survivability.
@@Salephz @Salephz I have been trying it myself. The first major problem I encountered was where to store the loot. So I rebuilt a Pirate base. Next, when I was ready to leave I realized I can't take the base crew with me, let alone the loot. So you absolutely _still_ need a factory ship. OK, one Factory ship but only one combat ship. So I designed a Corvette class ship with two Ion Beams, two Disrupters some small shields and one large shield. My definition of Corvette is around 500 tons (give or take) and 30-ish crew. Larger ships around 1000 tons start getting problematic. These ships need to be fast and agile (side thrust). They need to be able to reach the enemy sides... and stay there. That will make most enemy weapons impotent, like my penis... I mean, uh. I tested my designs vs. an Onager and Bandsaw 1v1. It amazes me how these ships turn... Anyway, I found most missiles flew past my ship. I was able with my meager point defenses to shoot down quite a few while the shields took care of the rest. I just had to out last them until I could take out their reactor or bridge. I have been using auto-combat, right-click to target. Shift- drag to position and rotate as necessary. Pause, a lot, and reposition as necessary. The next problem with combat is, combat! The auto-method is severely lacking. Navigators poorly use engine thrust. And even my fastest ship can never get behind an enemy. I am currently in my second sector (level 4-6). _I built my beam ship after the first sector was cleared._ The first sector is easy and starter designs don't need to be that great. In the second sector I made a mistake, fighting with the combat interface, and lost my ship. But I'm not playing iron-man so there's that. I play on Captain and Architect difficulty. So far so good. Would still love to see someone else play this challenge.
