Why don’t we All have These 10 EPIC Algae Eaters
Does it require substrate
Instead of using marbles or moss can I use normal aquarium gravel???
I dont think this stuff works. The ammonia readings aren't dropping and there are no nitrite readings after several days. The stuff in the bottle is clear with no smell. Is it just sugar water in the bottle?
My pleco has a sore on his head. I don't know what's wrong. Have you ever seen this ? I know its a vague description but i dont know what it is.
Does your tank have a heater on it? its possible he burned his head on the heater. Plecos love to hang out by them. If thats the case try an anti biotic
I love clown plecos. Super easy to keep. I have 5 of them spread out over three tanks.
Nice!
Thanks for the video. Couldn' t help noticing that you place a lot of trust on your cabinets to hold up your tanks.
All the cabinets are fish tank stands from wayfair except for the dresser and a book shelf. My rule is if it can hold me it'll hold a tank 🤣
Is it safe for mystery snails?
Yes and No. It does have copper in it which is bad for them but as long as your are not treating CONSTANTLY you should be ok
I think my betta has a tumor
I am sorry to hear this. What symptoms are you noticing?
So I got 20 gallon for my guppy’s and pleco because the other tank was way to small and I added them only like an hour after putting the quick start in there will I be fine?
They should, just keep a close eye on them for any weirdness and if you notice anything test the water and do a change for ammonia if you need to
@@Lefty3213a ok
@@Lefty3213a do you think ammo lock could help me with the fish in cycle?
I've got 2 Red Eye ( male and female) Puffers in a 75g community. They do well with pretty much anything I've put in there. I just wish the Female would accept the male lol. She kicked his butt to the curb and had to set up on the other side of the tank. Male will be dark with a vertical red line on its belly also a red tint on the tail.
haha it would be cool to see these breed and have baby puffers!
I just got a clown pleco and all he does is hang out behind my sponge filter in the corner of the tank. I was hoping he would start going crazy with eating the algae but he doesn't seem to want to move. I get that they like to hide and they are nocturnal, but are there any other ways to convince it to come out and eat more? He's currently in a tank with just two guppies who have made themselves at home. It's a 10 gallon tank.
i didn't see mine for like 3 days and i was worried it might've died, but i was up super super late at night and decided to check and he was happily munching the driftwood, i think they eventually just get comfortable, only way to force them to come out would be to stress them and force them out of hiding, they'll eventually realize nothing can hurt em and come out
Honestly leaving the lights off you should see it come out more. I found most of the cats like darker lighting
The like darker lighting too and tend to come out more at night.
@@VictoriaHammond put a piece of zucchini and or spinach on the end of a fork and set it on the bottom of tank should see him come out to eat
Funny story so I think my goldfish ate my clown pleco because I look in the tank and usually I seen him in his usual spots right..? NO he’s missing and so I make sure he’s not dead and then I see my now enlarged goldfish with something dark in its stomach and well he looks like he’s digesting it…
oh noooooooooooooooooooo! im so sorry! keep an eye on the goldfish to make sure the armor isnt too much for its insides
Had to turn it off because of the crap sound.
Thanks for the comment 😜
I have a 4yr old common pleco named Bertha, lol. She was in a 75 gallon tank, but that is definitely not a big enough tank. I have her in a 300 gallon stock tank, now. Her favorite protein snack is tubifex worms. I give her a variety of other food, like Fluval pleco sticks, and algae wafers.
Dang! That's awesome :D good on you for making the upgrade in tank size
How often do you feed your pleco and what do you feed it? Mine don't seem to have grown that much in about two years. Thanks! (How big is Bertha now?)
@@LadDell Bertha is probably about 18 inches long now. I feed her every day. She gets bug bites pleco sticks, a couple algae wafers, and a cube of tubifex worms stuck to the side of the tank. Plus all the natural algae and biofilms in the tank that she can eat.
@MandyJane123700 Bertha is one lucky lady! I'm sure all that protein is contributing to her growth, and she has a home that accommodates her size. All the best!
dude thanks man great video
Thank you :) glad to hear it
So Telopia fish , Nerite snails , & Amano shrimps are the best or no for ponds ?.
You would have to check local laws
I love, love, love this light! I have the Hygger Advanced LED Full-Spectrum Light on ALL six of my tanks! It has soooo many great features, easy control & program, and Full-spectrum for plants. Though I utilize most every option from time to time, my ABSOLUTE fav is the 24/7 lighting cycle. Dawn-to-Dusk... life is good 😁
I totally agree!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
I’m a year late but this was a helpful review
Its never too late :) Thank you for watching
Great description Thank you.! You're like the only video on this model that I could find.
Glad to hear you liked the video :) and only one :O well that's good to know haha explain why people keep watching it

Only thing I don't like about it is having blue light on all night in 24 hour mode, bad for algae growth. I'd also want it to ramp up from 6am to 10pm.
The blue light for the moon period does shut off. I want to say around 11pm
@@Lefty3213a Oh that's ok then! Lol. I had a cheaper light once that didn't, think the fish never slept properly! Might grab myself one of these!
@@gardian1701 I was worried about the same thing when I got this. I watched it go through the cycle and it does eventually turn off, and I want to say the orange morning sunlights turn on around 5 or 6am? So theres roughly 7hrs of darkness
Can they live well in a planted aquarium with fluorite black sand?
Aslong as the substrate isn't jagged where it would hurt their mouths you'll be fine. They will love laying on the plants
Very interesting, thank you!
You're welcome. I hope it helps
I try conditioner
good
What fish are you talking about?
Black phantoms
I have 5 female betta fish in a 30 gallon planted tank. No other fish. It is imperative that you have live plants and/or silk plants. I believe alot of people overstock their tanks and/or don't have have a larger tank.
yes 100% correct. The amount of people that have asked me if they can do it in a 10 gallon is crazy
@@daynajabin63 I heard adding more betas would reduce the stress because it would stop them from becoming territorial over space
@@adamkhotinskiy3615 You're absolutely right! I now have 9 girls and they get along great. My tank has flourished with the lower light plants. I find the lower dappled light helps also.
I have a driftwood sand slight tannin or black water tank, a bubler , rocks, and Anubias Nana petite , and anubias minima . anything sound not good about that?
Nope! that sounds like a wonderful tank set up :D they should be very happy in that
@@Lefty3213a Thanks so much i subbed
@@Lefty3213a Also along with 3 mystery snail and 2 albino cory’s in a 25 gallon long
Ya that should still be fine :)
@@Lefty3213a Thankyou!
I have a 60 gallon I'm setting up for these puffers and I wasn't going to do Congo tetras cuz I thought they wouldn't be a good fit but now that u said u successfully kept them I think I might do that. I'm excited cuz I've wanted congos for a while. Thanks for the video
Glad you enjoyed the video :) and yes I was worried myself. Luckily I had an extra tank incase it didn't work out. Since everything I read online said these really couldn't go with others. But YES my congos and them were fine. Tip on that is I fed in 2 or 3 spots in my tank so the puffers could get food and not be out competed
@@Lefty3213a Ive heard not to put these with corys as they lay on the bottom. What's your thoughts on this?
Mine were with cories and I had no issues but every fish is different so keep that in mind
A bit late on the comment but will they die with no flow even with corys pulling up the dirt. Should I target feed?
They really LOVE sitting underneath the HOB filters. I am not sure how they'd be with no flow. I've always had a sponge filter or hob with them.
@@Lefty3213a, thank you I’ll give him a sponge
@Hawaiianshirtoperator I hope it works out for you :D cuz they are really awesome additions to tanks. And it's never too late to comment on a video. I answer every comment
I got two of them in a 20, they’re cool asf
They are freakin amazing!
I’m using puma fix and mela fix at the same time. I have a 180 gallon. It’s became cloudy but if it works, I’d rather have cloudy than dead fish. I took my carbon out. I thought I had ick to begin with but seems it’s more like epi stylist. Only 4 of my cardinals seem to have it. Hoping it works. The rest of my fish are fine. The cloudiness is driving me crazy but going thru the 7 day treatment. Wish me luck. 👍
Woah thats a big tank to treat! But It would be pretty hard to catch those 4 cardinals! Ya anytime we add meds or other stuff to the water it can make em cloudy. Though Id rather cloudy than staining my tank blue treating ich haha. HOPEFULLY this helps you and takes care of it. If not might wanna try a strong med. I do have a vid on meds you can check out as well :)
hope you got a better mic by now, it's a bit hard to hear you and you're saying good stuff! (and i love that you did timestamps. really helpful)
Thank you. It actually ended up being Adobe premier. When I would edit the audio for background noise and S's. For what ever reason when it would export the audio got funky. I appreciate you pointing it out. Do me a favor watch one of my newer vids and let me know if it still sounds funny.
Puffers don't do anything for me, but I am going to set up an Asian species, and I might give them a spin and see if they ignight the spark of love. After all, I didn't love oscars until I kept oscars.
The Wetspot has them in stock :) it's where I got mine from and love em so much!
Lefty!!!!!!!!
What's good Whip
Good to see you posting again Lefty
Thanks :) hoppin to get back to posting
Fantastic species profile! Great.. now i want this puffer! 😂

Great video and great to see you my friend 👍👍👍
Thank you 👍
Puffers have such cool and curious personalities. Thanks for the puffer spotlight, Lefty. <•))))~{

Great topic!
Good to know I love ❤️ Puffers wanting to get them again getting ready to set up a 120 community giving them plenty of space to thrive 🐠Good to see you ✌️

This was a great video, very informative, made me subscribe immediately 🙋
Welcome aboard! Glad you enjoyed it. Plenty of other stuff :D Thanks for the support
Thank you! Do you happen to know if it's safe for yo-Yo loaches? Someone said that you're supposed to use half a dose but I already dosed a teaspoon for 10 gallons. I don't know whether I should do a water change now?
As far as I know it is safe for loaches, corrys and inverts. But all meds run the risk of harming fish just like with humans. Id say dose normal and just keep an eye on the fish. Dont change anything else just do the meds, dont increase temp or other stuff. If you notice em acting weird start your water change immediately. I hope that helps :)
Is this medicine light sensitive? Do I need to turn off the lights and if so for how long. I plan on just doing one day of it as a preventative. I have fish and quarantine and don't have any sign of ick but I don't want to risk them getting it and passing it on to my community tank. I did also dose one packet of maracyn.
I have never gotten that question before and honestly can not answer it. As far as I know it is not light sensitive the only thing you need to worry about is Active Carbon in the filter which sucks the meds out. You might be better off contacting Hikari and asking them your light question. But I have never turned my lights off and it always works.
At my local pet store there not cheap there like 5 a piece
dang! thats crazy :/ They were like 2 bucks a fish where I got them
I have a little syringe that goes from 0.1ml to 1.0 ml. My bucket for water changes is 3 gallons so I just fill the syringe to .3ml and add that to the bucket. Seems to work pretty good for me
that works haha. I just tend to always go with 1ml for anything 10 and under but good on you for getting nice measurements for dosing
Bruh my phantoms are aggressive mofos and they Don’t like to swim together they keep to themselves
How many you got abd how big of a tank? Normally in a large enough school tetras are hella peaceful
