      @@djisbaws1290 The bear plank exercise effectively engages the core by requiring stability and control while maintaining a strong, neutral spine position. It activates multiple core muscles, including the rectus abdominis, obliques, and transverse abdominis, while also incorporating shoulder and hip stability. This dynamic movement not only strengthens the core but also improves overall balance and coordination.

      @workoutworthy okay, so mainly stability then? Afaik simply activating a muscle doesn't necessarily do anything, unless there's enough resistance. I'm kind of struggling to find a use for such a movement like this other than getting better at that specific movement.

      @djisbaws1290 zero idea what you are talking about. This is a fantastic core exercise. Try it or don’t that is up to you. I’ve been incorporating it into my workouts for 25 years with great results. Have a great day!

      @@workoutworthy I'm talking about a minimal range of motion without much resistance. Meaning if you don't move a muscle against weight it will be hard to grow it. So I was wondering why I would incorporate it into my routine. Maybe you knew something I didn't know. But, you do have a great body that you probably worked hard for. Which is still something to be proud of. Unoptimal movements are perfectly fine if you enjoy doing them and clearly some of it has an effect. I'll just stick to weighted crunches and weighted leg raises to increase abs size for myself. As someone focused on strength training it probably just isn't for me.

      @djisbaws1290 I am not looking to “grow” my core. I am looking to strengthen my core. Core stability is crucial for looking, feeling and functioning your best. That is why I am sharing this exercise.

I put my own spin on it to get the benefits of Yoga & Pilates, strength, balance, flexibility & stability all while getting a good workout.       @@HolisticTake resistance varies drastically from person to person. You should start with your own body weight to master the proper form and explore your range of motion. Then resistance can be added from there. For reference I am using one 10 pound dumbbell in this demonstration. The resistance should feel like a challenge without being painful or negatively affecting your form.

      @@stephaniebiley9318 this is my go to core workout! I’ve been doing since college back in the 90s! I always feel it the next day in all the right places. Not super sore, but I definitely know I worked my abs!!
