This is so wild but honestly makes SO much sense. I also noticed (to a degree) that I forget about painful things when I’m dealing with a new problem. It’s obviously not ideal to constantly be dealing with problems but it does put things into perspective! Like, oh, a lot of these things weren’t as detrimental as I thought they were in that moment.

Good choice on that attention grabbing thumbnail, cause it did make me angry 😂 (because those same phrases are usually used by misogynistic rage baiters) So, since you are asking for thoughts, I am a passionate modern feminist (and I just coloured my hair tips pink), so I'm gonna share mine, this should be interesting 😊 Honestly I agree with everything you're saying, just not the labels you're giving it (i.e. "failure of feminism", "feminism is going too far/too to the left", "failed women"), because I think those phrases are harmful and will be taken advantage of the "manosphere bros", but I'm assuming you're doing it for marketing purposes and because using short and concise language helps with keeping people interested? Personally I see it like this: There is the "online discourse" feminisim, all the "I don't need a man", "men are trash", "girlboss slayyy 💅✨", and then there's people in real life, using the concept of "common sense", as you put it. I see this online discourse as just a fun little way of communicating online, and I think a lot of those who do it might do it out of frustration from past adverse experiences with men. But at the end of the day, when you log off, it's important to reset your brain a bit. I think all of these phrases used online are not meant to be taken literally. (And if some do, that is of course a problem.) For example, when someone says "I don't need a man", they mean their purpose is not to just be a girlfriend or wife, not that they will never accept anything or any kind of relationship with any man. (I'm saying this for the people who always misinterpret this phrase, not you specifically.) Now, to your point of romance being dead. I believe I understand what you mean by that, the fact that the standards are lowering, hookup culture, etc. I would also like to propose an alternate perspective: It might not be entirely easy to do, but I am a firm believer that you can find your people. Me, for example, I am an asexual, hyperromantic bi woman (I know it's a lot of words, but those describe me the best). I find that it's incredibly difficult for me to find the perfect romance, yes. But it's not impossible. There's groups I can join. I know most people of the queer community will understand me. I also know that people who engage in casual relationships, casual sex and so on are not standing in my way. They like what they like. I don't feel like they're the ones that are ruining it for me. I also try to understand them, just the way I want them to understand me, and I'm sure a lot of them are aromantic, poly and so on. I don't know how familiar you are with the split attraction model, but I think it would be a great research topic for this kind of discussion. Very interesting point on the high risk discussion. On one hand, I'm like, even if that's what the data says, there are always outliers, and is it really fair to say "deep down you're not happy", even if that only contradicts a few experiences? Hearing this will hurt/invalidate them just the same ... But again, like in many ways, I think this comes down to semantics and I'm pretty sure we are seeing things the same way, we might just phrase it differently. On the "men are trying to become women" and "women are trying to become men". See I get your point, but these are all dogwhistle phrases that I hear all day, every day from TERFs. So this makes me want to ask you (completely genuinely), did you explore the whole gender spectrum and gender theory for this point? I am aware that most people are cis, most women embrace more feminine qualities and most men embrace masculine qualities, but I do want to know why you think mixing it up is this bad. Personally I know more queer people than cishet people, and this thought process, this concept seems foreign to me. I just think it comes down to personal preference. Be who you want to be. Also, as a woman who can be romantically attracted to men, the thing I'm really attracted to is femininity. I loooove feminine men. So don't worry about those outliers, I'll be happy to take care of them 😉 With that being said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with masculine men and feminine women. I see masculinity and femininity as two awesome substances sitting in two bowls, and people can line up and take from each however much they want and every choice and mix is valid 😊 Honestly, the door thing has always confused me. This isn't even a counterpoint, I'm honestly asking. I don't know where you live, but holding doors open isn't considered as anything men do for women where I'm from, here the social convention goes "if anyone is at a certain distance behind you, you are supposed to hold the door open". So on this point I'm genuinely just asking, because I keep seeing this being brought up as a traditionally masculine thing online, and I just don't understand it. Alrighty, done with the video. Very interesting discussion, honestly I love talking about it. To conclude, I'm pretty sure we are agreeing on most things. I just wanted to share my thoughts with the phrasings I prefer and add some things. Also I do get the impression that you are more traditional than me and we probably have different preferences. Which is totally fine. It's actually quite interesting seeing a different perspective sometimes. (Do you know any good synonym for "interesting" btw??) Men are in service to women. Her feelings valued more then his. Her life is protected, his is sacrificed. What yours is hers, hers is hers. The problem with this BS is that the environment has made life easy for women. You need to look at some 1800 coal miner pictures. I don't see any women coal mining today or 200 years ago. Life was very hard to everyone. Another problem is women are sacrificing their most fertile years at the risk of having healthy Children for their career. These traits will breed themselves out of society. Leaving only women tha marry younger. Women were invested in Patriarchy, because she was looking for the family blood lines that would protect her Children. A second name is a small price to pay for healthy Children. Patriarchy is an outcome of female desire to marry up into power and privileges. It's the game men must play well to get beautiful women.

No pay gap in Australia. All are paid equally for the same position. It discrimination otherwise.
