@ Merry Christmas to you too! 😊 And wow I think we’re the same age. I’m glad you find these 2 dolls nostalgic as well. I honestly recommend them very much. Aside from the impeccable quality, they’re also inexpensive. You can get them at around $20-30 in most shopping sites. They’re a better investment than today’s Holiday Barbies, IMO.

@@Ms.D-loves-minis3 Thanks Donna! Oh believe me, I’m still on the lookout for the AA version. That one is still pretty expensive online, so I’m still waiting for the prices to drop. Holiday Barbies tend to be cheaper after the holidays. Oh I agree, I tend to not care about the Holiday Barbie line in general. But there are a few that I like-particularly the older ones that aren’t so obviously Christmas themed. The newer ones are definite no for me though. Since 2020, Holiday Barbie has been consistently bad. And they have the gall to sell them for $40-60 a pop? No thanks! 🙂‍↔️

@ The newer Barbie holiday dolls are definitely lacking in the luster and charm that they have in the past 😌 But I was able to score this year’s Hispanic holiday doll on sale for some reason for only $3 at Walmart 🎉🥳🎉 definitely didn’t get it for the unimpressive dress 🫤 but the doll is quite beautiful 🥰 And I wanted to share that I saw Target has tons of Barbies on sale right now due to the holidays, in particular MTM dolls, at a decent discount($11.89USD). I’m not sure if it’s the same sale price for you, but I wanted to share the info since I know you re-body your dolls and you might want to stock up 😄

Lucky you~ even though I’m not a fan of the current holiday dolls, I would DEFINITELY pick them up if they were that low. 😆 And thanks for the heads up about the Target discounts! Unfortunately Target doesn’t ship internationally, but hopefully those prices bleed to Amazon. I definitely need to stock on MTMs and Barbie Looks for my body swaps (especially #20 I use that one a lot LOL) 😂

@@Ms.D-loves-minis3 Oh I hope you get her too, Donna! She’s honestly such a beauty. 😊 True, I believe that Mattel could have done better with the garment’s execution. Especially since the Ballet Wishes dolls (even the recent ones) are made quite nicely. But still it’s a nice purchase. I recommend getting her on sale ‘cause $35 is kinda steep.😅

@@annepandesal I’m glad you like her! 😊 She’s a very well-trained ballerina, that’s why she can stand en pointe with no doll stand. JUST KIDDING! 😅 If you look very, VERY closely, there’s a transparent fishing line above her head. So she’s basically dangling from it. Then I added some poster putty on her shoes so she stays in place and doesn’t fidget.

@@TUBARBIEMALIGNA Hi. It’s the same size as all the other collector Odiles. Also, Angel Kent says there’s no large version of Odile. Even the playline ones are the same as the collector ones.

@@BooksnBarbies Thanks! 😊 Yeah faux leather is always so cumbersome to keep pristine and strong. But I’ve learned that you can delay the disintegration by putting the garment in a humid-free environment. Personally, I put my dolls wearing faux leather near a dehumidifier or desiccants and they really help delay the garment from destroying itself. I’m glad you like the soft jazz music! It’s actually from RUclips’s creator studio and you can download it here for free. They’re also royalty-free so you can use them in videos without any penalties. The one I’m using here on this video is called “Walk Through the Park.”

@@Ms.D-loves-minis3 I’m glad we share the same love for the Harlem Theatre Collection, Donna! ❤️ Mind you , I’ve been hunting for Madame Lavinia since last year. I found her once on Shopee for an OK price, but I hesitated, and someone else got her so she’s gone now. 😭 But I swear I won’t give up on her! But just so you know, Shopee is only occasionally good. The times I’ve been lucky there are few and far between. For the most part, Barbie products sold there are terrible. A Barbie Looks doll sold there is $50-60 each. A Barbie Fashionista is $20-40 a pop. Big yikes! 😬 Luckily Amazon exists and if I buy them in bulk, I save up on shipping. But yeah I would never sing Shopee’s praises if I were you. 😅

I couldn’t resist. 😆 I don’t have many dolls with the June face in my collection so she was a welcome addition to my roster. I hope you get this one too. I actually bought her on Amazon a few months back’cause I saw this one for sale for only $25, and I simply couldn’t resist! I quite like the aesthetic of the HBC brand. It’s a bit simple, but very bold and eye-catching. Such a shame most of their items are for colder weather. If the Philippines freezes over, I’ll definitely be buying a few pieces. 🤭 And I’m glad you like the little gag I inserted in the vid. Realistically, I don’t have a good use for the paddle, so keeping pesky Kens away is the only usage I could imagine for this. 🤪

@ don’t feel bad about not finding the 1996 doll, because I never would have found her if it wasn’t for the Canadian eBay store 🥴 I couldn’t find any info on the dolls ANYWHERE else and I’m the type that will search forever to find info 😄 It’s so cool that you got your doll at a fantastic price, because that’s exactly how I find mine too 😁 I refuse to pay insane prices…… unless I have to 😶 I hope you can get the others someday so you can have all of them lined on a shelf together 🤩 And btw, feel free to call me Donna 😉 I know my page here doesn’t show it in any way, but it’s definitely on my IG page, which one day I’ll have the courage to post my dolls on, I’m just really shy about it right now 😌

I found a FOURTH HBC Barbie. 😩 This time it’s from 1995 and it’s called the ‘Governor’s Ball Barbie’. I could have put all of this info in the video if this info was easier to find. Sigh, I’ll just add in corrections in the description, I guess. 😅

Since she’s a Black Label Barbie, I’m thinking she’ll be restocked very soon. Kinda how Mariah Carey Barbie got sold out pretty quick, but was restocked eventually and now she’s not too rare. I’m sure you’ll get her too soon. 😊 Yeah, I feel your pain. I really want to build up my Ken collection too. But there are so few Ken releases this year and most of them aren’t very good. 😔 I’ve given up on relying on Mattel for good new Ken releases and I’ll probably just get older Ken releases instead. I am so starved for male dolls in my collection, like I am *THIS* close to buying boy dolls from Integrity…but then I remember they cost $300 overall if I factor in shipping costs and taxes, so I quickly shoot down that idea. 😅 And I’m glad you agree with my points here. While I do prefer a Ken, if they’re going to go for a genderbent Barbie, then they need to do it right. It would have been nice if she was in a female Mariachi outfit, but they also didn’t do that here , so that makes me even more frustrated, honestly. 😭 Still though, I do love her. They can dress Odile in a trash bag, and I’ll probably still get her. 😅 And you’re right, the hair actually looks pretty good if you let it down. Personally I’m thinking of getting one that I can boil-wash and customize. But of course, I have to wait until she’s in stock again.

@ I’m looking into the older Ken releases too so I can get some handsome models 😊 and as much as I love the looks of IT male dolls, I doubt I’ll ever get one at those prices either 🫤 I’ll waste money on a lot of things, but I’m just not prepared to spend it on those dolls right now 😑 Not with the way my bank account is set up 😆 Otherwise, I think my collection is starting out pretty good 😌

@@Ms.D-loves-minis3 Thank you Ms D! I’m glad you love the Princess DOTW too! 😄 This line was just something else. I remember wanting them badly back in the day. I don’t think I’ll be getting more of them-can you imagine, the amount of shelf space I would need to house 2 dozen dolls in ball gowns?! Maybe it’s for the best 😅 But outside of the Princess collection, there are other DOTW that I want. I know right, unfortunately Mattel didn’t really care much about hair diversity during this time period. 😕 you have no idea the LENGTHS I had to go through to give my dolls textured hair. I ruined a lot of dolls from the experience, but I also learned a whole lot about doll hairstyling. 😆 But gladly attitudes changed eventually and I’m glad we see the diversity we see today. While Barbie still has problems nowadays, at the very least she’s doing diversity better than she ever did before

@@asherbarbara9 I totally understand that struggle with giving your dolls a little bit of textured hair 😁 I still do it today when I don’t feel the hair she has is right for her 🙃 My husband just smiles and says “That’s nice” and then tells me I can’t buy any more dolls 😆 when he knows he’s the one texting me pics of dolls to make sure I don’t already have her before he buys me another one he found on sale 🤪 He spoils me way too much 😊 But thankfully, like you said, we have a few more options now, and a little less stress when styling our dolls for their photo shoots 😉
