Secrets of Survival 1984

One of those "straight talking" shows meant to help teens out. Complete with the attempt to be hip and contemporary. 1984 style, of course. Ricky Schroder appears, but I cut the clip off at that point.

Wally George on Alan Thicke plus Carls Acres of Trailers
Me and my parents would watch this, they passed on I'm the only one left watching this on re runs.
She was very clownish.
I was 11 years old when this show first aired and 17 years old when it went off the air - my oldest sister and my parents watched this show diligently. I was enjoying the breakout of the home PC. I have warm memories of that time, a time of some of the best family shows and the rise of the personal computer. It was a good time to grow up as a child.
Loved that opening music
Always felt sorry for the lady and two kids at 0:56, getting soaked in the rain.
the black guy started the whole thing..did he did charged with anything?
Excuse me. What font is that reads "ALPHA BETA" in the red oval?
The good old 80s loved it
Be careful out there 👍
Questa musica e queste immagini mi emozionano ogni volta … grazie ♥️
Why fighting on life television?
Geraldo had it coming more than any puke in the room
Looks like a Democrat Party steering Committee meeting, I know, I've been to them!
One of my favorite TV shows back in the late 70s early 80s
1985… ahh my senior year in HS, the 80s what a time to be alive…
One of the best shows ever. Beautiful theme music. Brilliant casting.
I grew up watching this loved every part of it 😊
I like this show
It really takes me back I used to watch this with my dad.
Black starts violence then hides
It ain't what ya do it's the way that ya do it. Watch and learn modern TV program makers. You stand Bob Hope and No Hope of licking this programs boots.
there we have it cliff hanger
IIN THE LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE FALKWN TALEN BY SPACE SHIP
The memories of childhood.
My parents always made me go to bed way too early as a kid, so I’d spend an hour tossing and turning wishing I could read in bed or whatever. But I discovered the fun of sneaking down the hall and watching their TV shows from around the corner-the couch was angled so their backs were turned and they never knew I was there. Wednesday nights they watched _St. Elsewhere,_ and Thursday nights were _Hill Street Blues._ To this day, hearing either theme song takes me back to those sneaky weekday nights, peeking at their TV shows, and enjoying the shows myself!
If only recordings could be available, I’d be there, first in the queue 👍
Lesbian Nazi hookers abducted by UFOs and forced into weight loss programs... all next week on Town Talk.
it takes a black guy to start it
That's funny because Ronald Reagan prayed over the crack epidemic via Iran Contra era
Huh, I haven't had Pollo Loco before 😊
Wow I remember this so sad😢
One of the greatest openings of all time!
I remember coming home from school and my mom telling me she taped this...this was before Springer....
Man I miss Cal. Although I’m a devout GM guy, cal Worthington made Ford’s great.
El polo loco would like to know who....😂😂
Never watched this but the theme song is very relaxing.
Best tv intro ever.
Is it just me, or was Kiel (J.D.) not acting?
Huge cast - very expensive drama. Curious as to how they were ordered in the credits. I get that Travanti is the "star" but wondering how the others lined up?
I am watching this on November 6, 2024. I was one year old in 1984. This speech was delivered exactly 40 years ago. To think, so much has changed since this era. I miss the eighties. The way people talk in Generation Z is simply unappealing.
One of my favourite themes of all times.
god ed marinaro was so handsome i love this show much awesome actors all of them.
He was one of the biggest LOSERS in American history! Good thing he’s gone now! Hope Jimmy Carter joins him soon!!!
All class, you lot
Reminds me so much of my dad. Miss you so much, Pops ❤️❤️❤️
And then three decades later…John Lofton’s fears became real.
Is it just me or does this them sound like the intro to Evergreen by Carl Doy?
Dukakis should have won in 1988
I can tell by the way he laughed at Reagan during the debate with the ahe reference that he was a good man .
I remember watching this live with my older siblings. Amazing moment in television history. Geraldo was gettin it too! I later learned that he has a formal boxing background. Without this episode Jerry Springer would've never evolved into the show it became.
Really!!
@terrell6439 C'mon... You can see the similarities between this episode and the fake fight on Jerry, right?
Geraldo's comment section on X rn 😂
