And you're right: not everyone feels comfortable sharing such details and it often ends up becoming a comparison, but an important advice I got whenever I felt imposter syndrome kick in was "even if your candidature is relatively worse than others, you are still going to be in the same class with all these brilliant people - meaning that the university saw something in you that made up for it" People usually avoid such topics by saying that every person is different and you need to find out yourself, but having a reference profile as a data-point really helps
