Great, I was looking for this Video. I developed pain in the back of right knee( only my right knee) going on a 30-mile ride up some steep hills( 18%) I have a type of sciatica issue too on my right side. Pain from my hip, that would transverse down to my knee and sometimes my calf. I would do strengthening/stretching to relive the pain. Then I found a German Chiro that did magic on my back and hip and the pain went away. Problem is, I saw another Chiro as a recommendation from a friend( Russian dude this time) and after being pain free for 1.5 years, he somehow made the pain come back. My old German Chiro is only visiting my area once a month. I'll be seeing him again this December for another treatment. On your Sof Sole, I have flat feet, with broken arches. The left foot is worse than the right. I'm a mess. I was trying to do a console on your Chrio page, but couldn't find a way to message you.

Enjoyed your video. I haven’t tried the Silva products, but I’ve switched to squirt on all three of my bikes: Mtb, gravel, and road. I’m not sure what you’re referring to. Puzzled when you said it took you a whole day to prep a new chain. I used mineral spirits, muck off drivetrain cleaner, then dish detergent. After thoroughly drying the chain, I hang it next to a dehumidifier and the whole process takes less than an hour, other than waiting a little bit to apply the squirt to make sure everything is dry on the chain. I write about 150 miles a week and find that I only need to reapply squirt every 2 to 3 rides depending on conditions, and of course, I wipe my chains down after every ride.

Hi mate. I'm suffering from pain at the arch. Started this February and it is coming and going. At first it was after all out hard efforts but three days ago It was after a 1.5h zone 2 ride. I have bought lots of different shoes and spent thousands on them. Latest addition was Lake CX238 wide and CX242 wide. Both very expensive. I also have changed my pedal system from Time to Keo Look, Added a midfoot cycling cleat adapter to my shoes and bought expensive ass Solestar insoles. Despite all these things I'm still getting issues. Went to a bike fitter and a podiatrist. They said is plantar fasciatis. Nomatter what I do I can't get rid of the problem. It's really frustrating because I've been spinning my wheels in the mud because of this problem making absolutely ZERO progress in terms of cycling over the last year, heck even getting detrained. Is there anything else? PS: I also tried custom orthotics and they didn't work as well. Only thing I haven't tried is G8 Soles. Is there anything else you suggest?

I clean up my chain in 3 Gatorade bottles; one with Varsol (paint thinner), one of degreaser + water, one with 99% isopropyl alcohol. You just shake it real good for 5 minutes for each bath. I used to apply Squirt in a flat bath overnight. I then bought: a small crock pot, paraffin candle wax, WS2 (tungsten disulfide) nano powder and TPFE (Teflon) nano powder. After 2 1/2 years I am still using the same initial batch of paraffin + WS2 + PTFE that I have been using. If no rain I can go 400-450 km between re-waxing. I still have paraffin, WS2, PTFE for another 10-20 years maybe more. Nothing beats a freshly waxed chain.

@@cyclinginsoutherncalifornia It's a bit of research at the beginning to figure out what size of powder to use. But everything becomes routine after a short while. I bought from Aliexpress 500g of 1 micron (1000 nanometer) PTFE powder and 500g 99% WS2 0.8 micron (800 nanometer). I used 15g of each powder in my initial hot wax batch that I have been using since, so I will have some for quite some time. I should have bought smaller size PTFE but I couldn't find it at the time or the smaller size was a lot more expensive, I cannot remember. But everything works. I also mix a small amount of WS2 and PTFE with the Park Tool performance grease I use. It works wonders for cup and cone bearings.

FYI Cyclo cross season is in full swing over here in Europe. Tbh I think Cyclo cross and Gravel are 2 different things, Cyclocross is more like MTB but with a "road bike", and Gravel is the rougher version of the road races. The later is more appealing to people cause I think it's something they might just do when they are out on the road, and they cross a "gravel segment" where as, Cyclo Cross you're either having to head for the woods (you're bortherline MTB), or a farmers field... not sure he'll be a big fan ;).

CX is much more MTB-oriented. Riders who do not have an MTB background are at a disadvantage. I know, cry me a river. I did our State TT, Neo-Merckx category, and saw only a couple CX racers enter. I have always felt safe or safer on gravel than on the road. We had a gravel race in mid-September where a distracted driver crossed the centerline and very seriously injured a young man. An outstanding young racer. That's an advantage for CX. Great story, sorry you had to go through that. Your message is very strong and important. In my life injury seems to always be right around the corner 😮, as I get older I’m trying to get more wise. I’m currently on the tail end of planter fasciitis, and just like your story, I need to train appropriately and “not”!! overdo it ,to get to the finish line on this in. For me nowadays, it’s appropriate bike-fit from head to toe and smart training with smart recovery 😊❤️‍🩹.

@@cyclinginsoutherncaliforniaDitto, nine months of plantar fasciitis it’s finally going away, but I cannot ride without clipless bicycle specific shoes otherwise it’ll start coming back. I’ve tried just goofing around casually riding with flats and boots no dice. I can feel it coming back so I’ve got to stick with my specific bicycle shoes. I typically run speed play with lakes however I am going in the future try SPD’s because I just got a brand new pair of mountain bike shoes. I mainly ride trail system and some light off-road. Nothing serious. I love the float you get with the speed plays, but they’re not as easy to get in and out of as SPD’s.. and they’re starting to get old and tired and they’re crazy expensive.

Adam, question. Back in my racing day, we all PUSHED our gears instead of spinning, as is recommended in most cycling on RUclips. On Mt. Hamilton, I was using my 45 chain ring and a Regina Oro 11-22 cluster.. What cluster did you use on Mt Baldy?

Hey, just heard you say that you where riding a 28 Cassette, and you have a 36 back home.. I may have to get another rear wheel with a bigger Cassette. I live at an altitude of 8,300ft.

Well I bought new Bike with all the newest Tech. I bought all the silka Stuff and so far Im happy. Did the iniial hot wax and now Im just using the super secret wax coating . I rode a 160 miles last week and I sure do have a lot of black stuff on my chain. Im hoping its remnits of the strip chip. But I didn’t watch the video good enough. I guess I was supposed to do three coating , one coating after each of 3 rides. Then you can ride a some distance before the next application. I also put 300 miles not km"s onmy first hot waxing.
