Arrowhead and artifact hunting PA, VA, GA, NC, MD, and anywhere in between 🤘🏻
Bottle digging, flint knapping, making a dugout canoe, and recreating prehistoric Native American bows and tools might be some other things you might see on my channel (And anything else of that sort)
I usually stay around Central Pennsylvania walking the fields and creeks near me.
Happy hunting! 🏹

PENNSYLVANIA PALEO! Arrowhead Hunting (2024)
Discovering this 12,000+ year old artifact was not something I was expecting on this hunt! We found other woodland tools on a different part of that field, which could mean the paleo site is seperate from the woodland so the flakes do not overlap. Time will tell!! I hope to get back on that site soon!

Thanks. Smart kid!
Good video thank you for you time
@@coyotewacker well thank you for your comment!
Well I've learned something here Thanks , Been looking for points but no luck but what I have found are tools about a half dozen pretty sure there tools but it takes time I also shed hunt in the spring also so searching around is kind of in my blood , Thanks just subbed .
If youre finding flakes and tools a point will be nearby whithout a doubt 🫡 Thanks for the sub!
Cool channel. Just stumbled across it. I live in Harrisburg Pa on the Susquahanna River. Looked a little in the river,on the bedrock but struck out. Ill try your method. Well done bro. Much love
I know the susquahennah well. Haven’t been out looking on it in a hot minute though.
@eastcoastlithics ill get out there after the ice freezes. Late summer the water levels are very low, it exposes things a little more. Have a great day man.
Great video. Years ago I came across a dozen arrowheads. Sure enough, they were uphill from a creek.
@@triggerMB I like to imagine the structures and living areas etc. very hard to imagine when youre standing in what once was a village
Great video, thanks! Such a thrill to find artifacts…Been hunting arrowheads with my family since I was very little. Dad always covered the same search criteria you did, with one addition - if the water source has a rise on the northern side, look there. The Indians relied on southern exposure for warmth in the winter, thus encampments tend to be on the northern side, or alternatively, if a rise has anything that would shield from winter winds.
@@pleiadesluciernaga8877 That’s a very important bit of information! If I do another one of these videos I will definitely expand with tips like this. Something we often don’t think about in our warm insulated houses when they had animal skin and bark haha.
@ yep! I’ve yet to find any ancient Owen’s Corning insulation! Our family owns property in Florida with a sinkhole and spring water. We’ve been finding artifacts for generations. When dad was a kid, he’d find perfectly formed marbles made by Indians! The thrill of finding something never gets old.
Id be grabbing a shifter and a shovel. Great find ! Absolutely love to dig wether bottles, detecting for history and artifact hunting and antique picking i absolutely live for it !!
@@SeanTyree-f4o the best part is never knowing what youll find 👌🏻
Dude what an incredible video! I learned more from you than 25 of the arrowhead pulling geeks. In 34 and appreciate the knowledge you spilled and kept it entertaining. Can’t wait to take my 2.4 year old son out for some “rock finding”! Keep it up my dude.
Glad to have taught you something bro! This comment means a lot. I hope you and your son can pull some smokers 🙏🏻
Imagine missing terribly and you shoot your neighbors dog
Actually they have tortoises. The shell offers protection if it does happen 😂
My family were still making their tools less then 200 years ago. Depending on where you are i think your timelines are a little off
The messages that you put on to explain things come and go to quick , most people can’t read that quickly . Otherwise very good !

Nice work especially with only a hammerstone. I would recommend using antler if you have access to it. Subscribed and looking forward for more cheers from sweden!
Thanks! This point type used almost entirely percussion flaking techniques. I do have an antler pressure flaker or two lying around and I use then often on my more brittle quartz points that require pressure flaking. Thanks for the sub! Got some good stuff coming out soon if youre into selfbows I have a build video coming along with some ancient finds here or there.

Good info my friend, thanks for that. I’m out here in southern Oregon and I think I found an unfinished quartz arrowhead. What do you recommend I look for in order to confirm my query? Thanks again, happy hunting🤙🫡
@@marcelduckfeather9859 quartz point all the way out there?! Im not too familiar with the lithics in that region it I would be willing to bet it might be some kind of calcedony or agate. Either way both will fracture with those conchoidal marks on the edges. Look down the cross section and it should have a diamond shape from being worked on both faces. If you have reddit post on r/arrowheads for confirmation. Ill probably see your post!
I'm 67, I've wanted to find an arrowhead since I was 10. Need to get out there and look. Thanks for the tips.
Glad I could help! There are millions and millions out there. I just found a knife a few minutes ago and that was in a less artifact dense part of my area!
@@eastcoastlithics I live on Cape Cod, we have tons of water here. My neighbor has found a lot of arrowheads, as others around here have. I don't want to ask them where or how, I want to find one myself, for exactly the same reason you do - connection to someone who fabricated a piece of history many years ago. @@eastcoastlithics Use a Shagbark Hickory limb or sapling as the strongest springy-ist wood = is why its best for axe & the shorter striking tool handles (hammer's mauls etc); White Ash for longer tool for being stiffer for shovel & rake handles...!
@@mtman2 Very interesting! I never knew there were specific woods for tool handle lengths. I thought it was all hickory or ash interchangeably. Thanks for this knowledge!
@@eastcoastlithicsHickory - Shagbarks the tuffest of the hickory's & will take constant pounding when Ash will splinter; Tho Hickory's not as stiff as Ash for long handles & will bend to much; Shagbark's also top choice for making bows & again Ash makes great arrows being stiffer...!
