That’s a good one, thank you for sharing!
@@Officialflymedia thanks for your video getting some last studying in before my checkride tomorrow
@@markhurford2761 you are welcome, I know you are gonna crush it! Make sure you get sleep!!! That’s the hardest thing to do the night before. Also let me know how it goes, and what questions if any you stumbled on during the checkride.
@@Officialflymedia I passed
@@markhurford2761 Congrats Mark! Were there any questions he or she asked that you didn’t know?
Good information! The only thing I would suggest is....... answer the question and Shut the f$Y up.
Great video! 👍
Thank you, hopefully this helps some folks out there
Great video! Thank you for sharing this! I’m within 30 days of my checkride. I was able to answer 70% or so and will hit the books even more!👍🏾🙏🏾
Awesome, so you are well on your way. I’d highly suggest looking into this book. I listened to the audiobook version about 100 times. “Pass your Private Pilot Checkride” by Jasen Schappart
Listening to this in the car. When I get home Imma write down all your questions and answers. Then imma keep listening to this on my commutes to work everyday until I can get every single question. This is GOLD
Thank you brother, I hope you find it helpful, and that you ace your checkride!
Damn, good advice!
Agreed
Great info on this video. BTW, I just saw virga and a video of how it looks in my gold seal ground school course, which makes me feel better about picking that ground school! Thanks!
Thank you, weather has so many terms, and CJ concepts it’s definitely one of the most difficult sections because there is an incredibly amount of information you are expected to know.
Thanks for Posting
You are welcome, I hope it helps you in your studying
I really enjoyed the video. I have my Checkride coming up on December 9. I also subscribed to your channel. What audiobooks do you recommend?

this is great! good job!
Thank you! Just wanted to share what I had to see it would help anyone.
Guys, I'm loving these videos. At 43:09 it's funny that he said that, because the checklist that my school had been using for years I thought it was not good. So when I was about 10hrs in, I created my own checklist for the 172 I fly. I felt it needed to be optimized so I did. My instructor gave me a compliment because he liked how it worked better and the flow made more sense. So not all the time that someone has been doing something for years and a proven method, is going to be the best way. It's just that they have been doing it for so long that they got used to working it that way. For example, I switched the doors and windows checks and added an additional seat belt and shoulder strap check before takeoff, along with another check on the windows after run-up and taxi, along with a bunch of other things,. My new checklist is great and we love it. I have it in PDF and use it on my iPad. At some point I will share it online. So I wouldn't limit myself to going with existing just because someone has proved it good for 50years. Maybe it needs to be optimized. As long as someone's new ideas are good, we are good to go! Challenge and innovate. Process improvement is a constant thing. I'm 30hrs in with all my night stuff done. I'm 52 so I want my PPL to fly because my wife and I love it. Thanks for these videos. You guys are doing a great job sharing this information! Blue skies!
Thank you for your support, and kind words! I’m glad you are enjoying, and gaining value from them. Congrats you are getting super close. I’m not sure if you have seen my checkride prep video but I think you are at a point now where you will benefit from it. May there always be wind beneath your wings!! @@maxmichelson5769 exactly, what I’m curious about how did it go?
@@maxmichelson5769 exciting, I bet you are anxious and nervous. I know I was, but I also prepared like crazy. Try your best to relax, take your time, don’t rush anything! How did this mock oral go for you? Did you know the answers to most questions?
What a nice flight! I'm PPL also. I used to be based out of KSQL for a few years but I've been flying out of KFUL since 2019. I have to say the Bay Area is a great place to fly! LA and soCal can't compare. I love that you were "getting bullied" right before landing at Concord haha. You both are awesome!
Thank you so much! NorCal flying is amazing, but all flying is amazing haha. SoCal is definitely crazy, we flew down to L18 currently working in the video form that trip. The LA bravo was absolutely insane, so much radio chatter. Haha yes my wife makes fun of me all the time haha, we have been having so much fun flying around, it has been a very special experience! More to come! I want to do half moon bay soon
@@Officialflymedia Half moon bay airport is awesome! My wife and I flew their often to have lunch or brunch. I took my parents there too. You could tie down your plane there and walk out of the airport to the restaurants. They have a little beach there too in walking distance. But, I have to warn you about the fog or marine layer can come in rather quickly in the afternoon so be prepare to depart before they come in otherwise you can get stuck there. Flying under the marine layer from KHAF to the east can be dangerous due to low terrain! I almost got stuck there one time haha. You should be fine going there before noon and come back after lunch. Enjoy!! Oh, I miss the bay area.
@ thank you for the recommendation, I was actually just looking into Halfmoon bay for tomorrow but my clubs planes are are reserved. I’ll make that trip happen soon. Looks beautiful, but that marine layer is exactly what worries me.
Very helpful thank you!
You are welcome, I hope it helps you prepare, or feel more at ease that you are prepared! Best of luck!
Checkride in 7 days 🙏🏼thanks brother! Pilot stache on point btw👍🏼
Congrats! That’s exciting, try to get some rest a few days before. I couldn’t sleep the night before. I was so anxious, and I’ve never felt anxiety in anyway shape or form in my life.

How was it?
So helpful this video was on time.
I’m glad you found it helpful, you got this. Do you have the audiobook pass your PPL checkride by Jason Schappert? I’d say get that off Amazon and listen to it religiously. It’s also very helpfu! Good luck. When is your checkride?
@@Officialflymedia okay sir order that today again thank you for your videos.
@@maritestaylor8458 you are welcome! Best of luck, stay safe. Looking forward to hearing more about your experiences!
Another great item to have that will sync up with foreflight is a Sentry. To get traffic and weather displayed on your Ipad. I can't say how many times that has been a great asset in the cockpit whenever I go flying. After flying with it since day 1, I can say I will never fly without it. Definitely an essential must have in my opinion. Worth the investment.
Thanks for the recommendation, I have heard nothing but good things about those. It may be my next purchase!
Do you ever use those shoes or are those collector item thingies
Hahah I wear all my shoes, clean them the day after I wear them and right back in their case they go
@@Officialflymedia Great video btw, trying my long xc this week
Thank you, Congrats have a blast, use your checklists, don’t rush, or let anyone rush you. Smile, laugh, pay attention to you altitude and airspeed on approach. Aim for the 1000s and not the numbers. Give yourself some room for error. Can’t wait tot hear about it. Make sure you let me know how it goes!
@@Officialflymedia Got the job done, busy flight because it's a beutiful weekend! Thanks for the tips. Gotta bang out my hood time and night time and the 3 hours for the preperation now.
@@rosstheboss8633 man congrats, do you fly out of a towered or untowered airport? Personally I didn’t like hood time haha. It’s very interesting, have fun. Trust those instruments. Scan them in a rotation!
Congrats. I'm looking forward to my 1st solo XC
Thank you I have been having a blast she a bunch of videos to make. $100 burgers and weekend trips. You are going to have a blast, remember your checklists. Take your time, don’t rush or allow anyone to rush you. It took me a long time to solo, and a long time to get my PPL. But guess what I’m flying around now and having a blast enjoying amazing experiences with friends and family.
Man I need those sunglasses !!!
I highly suggest it, I’m definitely buying another pair. I’m going to grab those Black aviators for sure.
Do you have to pay for schooling out of pocket or can you do monthly payment plans?
Depends on the school, I payed out of pocket. Most people typically do. Here are some options www.thrustflight.com/3-ways-to-pay-for-flight-school/

Great video 💯 ✈️
Thank you, just sharing the story of another awesome pilot. Lots of lessons learned, and topic that all aviators can relate to!
Great video. Going to a part 61 flight school and discovered part time pilot podcast last week. It’s great tons of information. 5 hours TT.
Thank you for the feedback. Congrats on starting your training, that’s very exciting! What state are you training in?
Note to self-I’m never getting buffalo sauce😂
Hahahahhaa
Hey Congradulation on your big dream getting your PPL, well im in the process of trying to get mine. How long did it take you to get it, beside waiting on your Check ride.
Thank you, it was quite a process. I struggled with landing for a long time so all in all it took me about a year and a half. The time it takes you doesn’t matter, what matter is that you finish, a larger percent I think the FAA estimates that more than 60% of people who start flight training never get their PPL. Stay focused, study hard, and make sure you have fun!!!
Why does he look like hes working at Skechers
I don’t know what people who work there look like. I personally was going to for the footlocker look ahahah
Just logged my first 1.5 hours! Thanks for your inspiring videos!

@@OfficialflymediaAbsolutely epic! Flew from Nashville up to Clarksville for a touch and go and back. Nothing quite like flying! Have not taken any written exams yet. nice love the video! I am just starting back up to finish my PPL. I had some issues with getting a DPE, so I sadly put it all down, life got in the way, and let my written expire. Hope I can get it finished in the next few months.
Congrats on starting back up!!! Yes I waited months, and actually my checkride in March got canceled I was about to quit and hang it up. I and my instructor got me a checkride due to a cancellation. This is awesome! I take my check-ride in 2 days!! I cannot wait to do this with friends and family!
Congrats! Best of luck to you on your checkride, I know you will crush it. Just remember relax, take a deep breath, and pay attention to the calculations in the POH. You are likely to get a question about tail winds and how they affect landing and take off distances. In the POH for what I was flying it said for every 2kts of tailwind your landing and take off distances will increase by 10%. My question had 10kts of tailwind.
