Epic fail, no Costco😢
I live in Watford city
I was born in Minot in '79., but we moved after I was 5 years old. Would love to go back someday to see my childhood home. Thanks for the video.
I lived in Fargo for a year. Didn't care for it. Don't like the weather and didn't care for the people. I am in California now, 10,000% better.
went to watford for work. years ago.. drank in the local bar.. lived in the man camp .. it sucked.. its cold as fuck
On my way for 2026 from Great Lakes, Illinois.
have fun!
I'm about to go there from Ocean City MD but still undecided
Any negatives at all? Not scared of bad things going on but if there is anything to be concerned of, I’d like to know that too.
I Don't Think they describe Grand Forks at all for what it costs to live and one of those homes with the 3 car garage. The entire housing market here is inflated for what you can actually get in another state. Businesses are closing and leaving taxes raise every year by city council. For a house that's built-in 1948 and OK condition. You can expect to pay over $200000 and also only 2000 square foot of space nice. Its nice that you try to point out the nice parts in the neighborhood but you need show the true 100% of Grand forks. Also show the University more and activities available. Grand Forks does have a good park district which maintains all the parks in the area and they do a wonderful job. Grand forks police department is big and has lots of officers which is very necessary due to the constant fluctuation of college students that move to grand forks and cause problems such as breaking in the car's Vandalism and other such petty crimes, theft is a big issue. Mostly in Grand Forks, North Dakota. You will find a lot of domestic issue is rather than True Crime until school starts back up and students start relocating here. Many residents wish the grand forks would put a cap on taxes as they ask for away too much for the city and also invest in hundred million dollar water parks that only ten percent of the city actually voted on. Show 1st street through 10th Avenue show downtown and the homeless that are always walking around near the high school show the constant pan handling right outside of walmart. Don't sugar coat what is like to live here I will say it is better than other cities.
Fargo sucks nowdays. Constant killings now that its darker!
Spent 3.5 years there in the early/mid 80's in the AF and have NO desire to ever return. There is nothing to do there, being a university town most people there were snobs and the winters were un-godly cold.. negative 70 and the wind never stopped blowing.. then the summers were over 100 and humid as all hell
you drove right by my old house i lived there for 13 years and man were those winters tuff
that music is so insipid and repetitive
He's a liar ☠️
There is under ground tunnels cause there are people who sacrifice kids to the devil.. don't believe this idiot.☠️
Seriously why don't you show them where all those people worship the devil up in North Fargo and where all those under ground tunnels lead to where they do evil in secret. And connect with people that sacrifice little kids to the devil.. idiot.. ☠️
Who knows where a disabled person can afford to live in Dickinson?
All the typical commercial bullshit.
Hey there Maple Manz! We help clients all the time buy a home here and hope this video helps them to get a better understanding of what the area has to offer. Can you elaborate what you mean? As far as “commercial bullshit” - Grand Forks has far less of it than most any big city’s anywhere. Pretty quiet in comparison to commercial noise you’d see in other parts of the country. Thanks for watching
We don’t got much but we have the state fair its a small one though
Do you guys offer property management?
Reach out to discuss. David@TheVanAsscheGroup.com
I am thinking about moving there within the next 5 months
don't live there grand forks suck full of asswholes
Interviewing at Sanford there in a couple weeks.
I wonder if gig work is decent out there i do instacart and uber right now. I'm colorado thinking about moving up there while trying to get a job in the oil industry. I have my CDL and can't find work with no experience.
Great 👍 goals
The Badlands, Turtle Mountains, State Fair and Fargo are really the only attractions in North Dakota.
I like the attentiveness to the comments, i just found out about north dakota today, everywhere in america i would be scared because of the crime rate, so i would always look for apartments at high places so crime would be at ground floor nowhere near me, but for once when looking for places in north dakota i feel safe no matter where. It will be my first time in america, i was born american but never had the chance to move there, i dont have much education but im hoping to grow. The rent when i was looking for apartments were like around 500 dollars a month which was crazy but i also found that the minimum wage is 7 dollars an hour so it makes sense. But im curious as to how easy it is to find jobs, like thats the only issue because a small state with few people means few jobs aswell i feel like, but i could be wrong. I want to work at minimum wage until i get higher education, any advise if i were to move here.
Look into the oilfield in Williston. No matter where you live it’s not “cheap” to live in North Dakota. Youll never make it on minimum wage here or anywhere else.
I’d move to Fargo ND. Born and raised in California so it’ll always be home but California agenda is no joke. Also time to experience another state, another way of life. Fargo is on my list.
Happy to help you find your new home here (and we can recommend an agent in your area of CA to sell your old home). Text call or email us.
If Grand Forks was designed the way Fargo is and took advantage of building around it's interstates it might be cooler. But it's still just a big small town in my opinion. Not that impressive at all.
Pretty good video but that damn music in back ground is to loud you can't hear half of what your saying. There are alot of people who have hearing issues hearing over back ground noise thank you.
Feel free to call or text and have a conversation one to one about Minot. We love helping people find their new home!
I lived in Williston for about 7 years let me tell you it blew. Everyone exploits the fact that you work in the oil field yes we were making a good living but good grief the prices at some of these places were outrageous and as far as welcoming depends on where you went and who you knew
This is mostly accurate. Most people move to Williston for the $$$. EVERYONE, regardless of what industry you are actually in, is in the oil and gas business. That said - is there anywhere in America where good paying jobs can be found that cost of living isn’t also high?
Does the K K Korner bar still exist?
Not a safe place for women unfortunately. If you're a young woman or have daughters, think twice before you choose to relocate to Minot. A lot of slumlords too. Plus sex offenders who manage to find a way to stay off the Registered Sex Offenders List. NOT something to be proud of, ehhhhhhh?
Looks like a wasteland with crackheads
I have lived in fargo my whole life and I don’t know anyone who likes fargo this much
Looks like a great city at first: VERY low crime rate, lower than average housing prices, average income, low unemployment rate, not too big yet not to small... The statistics look fantastic, but is life there as good as it looks on paper?
Winters can be brutally cold and long. Wealthier residents often have a second home or rent one in Arizona during this time.
@@LivinginNorthDakota Well, weather is relative. Some people can't stand heat and others can't stand cold. Is there something else?
@@DioTheGreatOne I'm thinking I should do video titled "10 Reasons Minot, ND SUCKS!"
Dude...your editing jerks are too distracting for enjoyable viewing...
No one in there right mind lives in dickinson.
Many people really enjoy what Dickinson and other parts of the state have to offer… but not all areas are right for everyone! Some people prefer living on the beach in Southern California or fishing in the Pacific Northwest or the warm dry desert of Phoenix. I’ll be doing another series of videos soon called “10 Reasons You’ll HATE xxx City”
Williston sucks, sorry im partial city kid and a man of color, it needs a Main Event or Dave & Busters.
Both of these are great! Typically however these kinds of businesses need a population base of 200-500k people. Williston sits just above 30k people. Williston will need to grow 7x over before we will see anything on this scale.
red lobster is closed
Love ND/MN and yeah Fargo, my dads fam are from the area, nicest ppl ever ever. Was in Fargo 4 weeks ago, on my way back home to Europe, can't believe I'm still in Europe.
Glad you got to visit! Where in Europe do you call home?
@@LivinginNorthDakota I'm 50/50 Swedish/Norwegian, live in Norway, my parents ND/MN and NJ/NYC.
Whatever you do, don't get fooled into working for Simplot. That place is a freaking joke. Same thing with Philadelphia Macaroni Co.
Is there an international airport "in" Fargo? Thank you. I enjoyed this video; it's very informative. Thank you🙏
Yes there is an “international airport” (code FAR) but there are no regularly scheduled commercial flights internationally. Any international flights would be private/charter aircraft. Most (all?) international flights would be through a connection in Chicago, Minneapolis or Denver. Reach out to us if we can help you learn more about the area and connect with a Realtor with our team that can help you with finding the right home.
Lots of opportunities in North Dakota. We came into Grand Forks 15 years ago with a household income of $36k, this year, we are leaving with a household income over $400k. My wife and I both achieved advanced degrees, me in engineering, her in nursing. We have been trying to leave for 5 years, but kept getting sucked back in with good opportunities. Good problem to have. Now, we are headed out of state. If you need some new opportunities, keep your eyes open. There are great opportunities in North Dakota. You just have to be able to survive the harsh winters.
Love these kinds of stories. THIS is why people move to North Dakota. It’s not the weather!!
19:50 don’t go down this downhill on a scooter or bike without very good brakes had to get a root canal because of it
This guy is trying sell something so he can make money.
Hi Nancy! What do you do to make money? Our team helps people find/purchase (or sell) primarily residential homes. And yes - as a small business we do charge for our professional services just like anyone else would charge their employer for their time (paycheck) or a store selling goods. We hope this video helped you learn more about Grand Forks. There are also videos that show a bit about Fargo, Bismarck, Dickinson, Watford City, Willison & Minot. If you're planning to move to (or from ) any of these areas - reach out to us if you need a Realtor to assist you with the purchase or sale of a home!
lol you didn't tell them about what the temps can get down here in winter.
Figured that goes without saying... Cold winters in North Dakota shouldn't come as a surprise! Two words for anyone thinking about moving to North Dakota... REMOTE START. Being able to start and warm up the car from the house in winter is wonderful.
Love this video, We are considering a transfer here. Are there any updates that can be made to this video? Do you know anything about the Homeschooling community?
Reach out to us to talk! usemotion.com/meet/david-vanassche/meeting
Love your videos, we are currently looking at a couple of places in Langdon.

if you move to North Dakota, you might as well be a dead fish at the bottom of the Missouri River.
North Dakota isn't for the weak! If you know anyone wanting to leave, we have buyers looking in every part of the state. We can help you (or your friends/family) sell their home!
