My wife and I, from Northern California, came to Williston this past summer to visit Theodore Rosevelt National Park. Williston is a very nice little town and a great place to start when heading to the National Park. I was very impressed with your new airport located about 11 miles outside of town. Although small, the new Williston airport is first class. Travelers should be warned that taxi and ridesharing services can be hit or miss in Williston, especially at night. People in North Dakota were very friendly and treated us very well.
Glad you liked it! Every place has its pros and cons. Just want to make sure people understand what they’re getting into before moving to Williston and buying a home. Give us a call, text or email if you’re moving this direction - we’re here to help make your move smooth and home purchase easy.
It's over the top - super amazing facility. If you're moving or relocating to Williston (or anywhere else in Nodak) - grab a time on my calendar: calendly.com/david-vanassche-calendar/home-purchase-meeting
Thank you for this video! Hubby and I are looking to relocate there from FL in April of 2024. This was a perfect look into Williston that we needed!!!!
So glad this was helpful! Be sure to reach out to us 2 to 3 months before you move here so we can coordinate a game plan to find you a place to live! Are you moving here for the oil field or another reason?
Are you sure you want to " relocate " from Florida to North Dakota ?!?!?!!?? 😮 I'm guessing that 25° below zero temperatures with a constant minimum 10 mph wind with constant gusts upwards of 40 mph doesn't bother you a bit . Good luck , dress appropriately and remember, as the locals told me when I first arrived there " It's the wind ."
i lived in williston back in 2019 worked there for 2 years for oilfield and i liked it but you would have to drive to a bigger city for more options, clothing wise etc
If North Dakota is such a great place to live, a whole lot more people would live there. I spent three years in Central North Dakota and it was a nightmare.
You forgot to mention that some of the communities you have shown us have HOA's, and a lot of the boom construction has relatively poor quality compared to older homes. The house I bought was built in 1952 and is solid as a rock. Williston is a great place to live, really hard to find anything better.
HOAs tend to keep property values higher for the long run by fording owners to maintain their properties to a certain minimum level. Unless it’s a super high end custom home - nearly all new construction in America is governed by HOAs.
What is the Ag career looking like out there? Would another part of ND be more appropriate to look at? 10+year experience albeit in nj and va so different crop zones obviously.
East of the Missouri River has much richer farm land. SW corner near bowman has a lot of ranch land and wheat, corn etc. but i would recommend eastern nd as the soil is much richer thus better yields id assume
Snow starts falling in October and melts in April but stays cold until end of May, sooo 7 months of cold weather. May/June are the best months for comfortable temps. Winter months from Dec - March are harsh af😫 -60°🥶🥶 Not much options for activities other than riding atv’s, fishing, outdoor stuff but everything is expensive.
I lived in Williston for about 7 years let me tell you it blew. Everyone exploits the fact that you work in the oil field yes we were making a good living but good grief the prices at some of these places were outrageous and as far as welcoming depends on where you went and who you knew
This is mostly accurate. Most people move to Williston for the $$$. EVERYONE, regardless of what industry you are actually in, is in the oil and gas business. That said - is there anywhere in America where good paying jobs can be found that cost of living isn’t also high?
Love this video, We are considering a transfer here. Are there any updates that can be made to this video? Do you know anything about the Homeschooling community?
I sold everything in California and moved to Williston nd one of the best choices I made in my life I moved with the whole family 💕 everybody's pretty friendly not that much stuff to do just fish hunt or go to the shooting range healthcare and education aren't the best but still okay only bad part is the winter ☃️☃️☃️☃️ pretty extreme weather weather gets to the negative numbers
I’ve lived in ND 41 years what he doesn’t show is the winter time, bring extra clothes, but small town’s friendly people, great schools, used to be inexpensive cost of living
Hi Jasper! We focus our videos and content mostly on areas our clients are usually looking to buy a home in. Minot or Grand forks would be the closest areas to the Turtle Mountains that we have regular clients. If you’re looking for a home in Bottineau, Rolette, or Rolla areas, reach out and we will connect to someone that can help you in those areas closer to the Turtle Mountains.
The problem with North Dakota is the right to work law. My wife was forced out of her job 11 days after our two year old son was diagnosed with cancer. The Williston Basin School District HR Judith B is the one who did it. School District didn't want the insurance hit. Disgusting! Also there is no BBB in North Dakota. There is a wells fargo atm but no bank branch. There is no Chase bank branch. The local government is super corrupt. Example, the mayor bought land from the city then sold it back to the city to build a school. A plus is no gangs, no traffic, new airport. We bought back in 2015 and our value has doubled.
@riviclaye615 Nope I actually just moved in this 2024 march from a 3rd world country. It's a really nice place with nice people so it sucked to hear that crime rates shot up when the oil boom happened. It was nice to see children playing outside so it would suck if crime rates shot up because of bad people moving in.
Both of these are great! Typically however these kinds of businesses need a population base of 200-500k people. Williston sits just above 30k people. Williston will need to grow 7x over before we will see anything on this scale.

The new airport was definitely built with future growth in mind! Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

In what way?
@riviclaye615 thank u I appreciate the info 👍
Not all people can handle the bitter winters here.
@riviclaye615Not true at all. We have people from all over the world that have moved here for work and love it here.

The winters must be long though, aren't they?
Shorts season start on july and jacket season on september, so you imagine 😅

I agree. I am here now and CANNOT WAIT until my prison sentence is over. I HATE WILLISTON.
Lived here my whole life. We love Williston. We don't LOVE all the changes to our once small town but we have adapted. ❤

Home of Economy is a great place to stock up on winter work gear. I tend to wear underarmor winter pants and shirts as a base layer most all winter.
"Vanassche", not related to any Flemish/Dutch people?
Eigenlijk spreek ik wel Nederlands. De winter is extreem lang en koud. De gemeenschap heeft daar echter zeker infrastructuur omheen gebouwd.

There is a reason why less than 800,000 people live in ND. The winters are far to brutal..
Minnesota has 5.7 million and is right there with North Dakota temps. The state is actually growing and has a ton of opportunities for many people.
