My Stock Cannon L with 3T Caravan was 17.3L per 100 under full thrash race caravan driving haha. My Modified Cannon L with 3T Caravan was 19.3L per 100 under full thrash race caravan driving (Big ass dual axle 3T full size van) The Alpha Diesel is pretty thirsty..... @SavageTechAustralia For the Canon Alpha diesel... How much power on a tune can you get out of that 2.4 motor that's reliable for long hauls... Probably towing just under 3000kilos

The only thing I see these ute owners tow is their arses/asses to work trying to pay off the car loan ( probably takes them 20 to 30 yrs).

I got a cannon alpha hybrid version and I am towing 2.5t trailer boat. Comparing to towing with a 2.0T older GWM cannon, the acceleration is much better and the control is much much better. Like you said the fuel consumption is much higher (on my old GWM cannon it was 15L/100km) I haven't test long distance towing with new alpha hybrid. I will be testing it next month. Another thing I found is that the rear camera on cannon alpha cannot see the tow ball anymore. I got a short video of GWM alpha towing 2.5t boat. Will do more test

Any turbo engine particularly a 4 cylinder should be using 98 and given you are towing on maximum load, even more reason to use 98. Surprised it hasn't blown up under all that pressure. Poor knock sensors.

Looking forward to the towing test with the PHEV versions. Expect the worst, but let’s see!

awesome video of towing and so honest .was always convinced the diesel is the way to go for towing ,have towed and drivin trucks for years .But there is the hybrid guys convinced there great but yes fuel consumption it real not matter what you drive .thanks byron for the update ,now got to decide do i wait for the kia tasman and the new foton V7 & V9 to arrive the diesel hydrid would be really interesting . thanks once again .if i order the alpha ill be intouch as there will be some upgrades ill be after .thanks once again .

Hi we love all you reviews. We are in the market of buying a new car , tossing up between ford everest sport and the tank 500 .my dilemma is longevity of the any vehicle. We're not into wild off road driving, more gravel roads and tracks and potable towing 2.5t caravan . So at the moment we have 2004 santa fe with only 252 thousand ks.so not average driving but hill country. So in your opinion, what I'm getting at,is will the tank 500 go the distance . regards Gil

Hey mate, you mention in the video your using adaptive cruise control. In a previous video you mentioned you weren’t happy with the distance from other vehicles in factory settings. Di you end up resolving this? If so, what did you do?

So when building on a tank 500 platform should one take into consideration getting a new and upgraded driveshaft to avoid stock mechanical error. Imagine being in a remote environment alone and this happening.
