I am Native American- for clarification: most federally recognized tribes have different citizenship requirements. They are usually based upon direct descendant lineage or Blood Quantum.

I have a very mixed family, but as the older people pass on the younger people don't really know. AFAIK, Native American on both sides, Black American from the breeding farms, and different Europeans on both sides. Each group having a separate branch of the family. Some of my GenX and Millennial cousins have further mixed with Latino and Arab (they all just claim black). I'll likely start a family in Asia when the times comes. And yeah I have photos of great grandparents. And on top of that, a few childhood friends' parents talked about their Native family ancestry.
