Dr Umar Johnson said that Marcus Garvey was his great uncle. He is super pro African and criticize other black folks for not embracing Africa but he hasn't moved. I embrace all of my melanated people and we are all different culturally. There isn't anything wrong with that.

i lived in the US for 32 years, was married to a black american, have family there and right now staying in Senegal and retiring here. i drove big rigs in the states for 25 years and saw the entire country and canada and mexico(laredo etc...) but had to come back because it's hard to make it over there. in america black people have to work two to three times harder to make it, plus it's a racist country. i felt like slavery still exist in a different way. discrimination everywhere(the banks, the police, etc...) the same wrongdoings some black americans accuse the white people of, they do to africans. but i would advice blacks to come to africa even for tourism cause you don't really know until you experience it your own self. and when you come here remember you're in the mother land. peace out.

Tracing your dna for maternal or genetics proof is accurate but to prove where you are from globally or tribal identity is not possible. That's what i said about the DNA.

Africans don't come to America to feel ungrateful. They rather start from the buttom with credit score, living on minimum wages with no social security or insurance to enjoy health care. But go through the struggles doing odd jobs not even qualifying for food stamps, go to schools and get all them degrees and still get them disrespect and discriminated as butty scratchers by our own black brothers.

I'm not African. I love myself alot more than you, trust me. Black Americans are descendants. If you are African what tribe are you from, what are your tribes languages and what are your Family's traditions and dialects. Being African is not just about your complexion it's about everything I just mentioned. all of my African friends know that which I have no idea. IF you were not born on the African continent or parents were born on the continent then you are African respectfully.
