@@StormGate Oh yea you're right, I remember all tournaments during the Beta of Warcraft 3, the first Counter-Strike, League of legends .... Now it is done almost all the time but it has not been "always" the case.

Every game needs money. And it's absolutely normal these days for smaller studios to reveal early releases to get the word of mouth going and use the community feedback to improve the product. At the same time you try to suggest that Triple A companies only release finished products. Do you even play videogames? Have you seen the shit show that was/is Diablo IV? A game for which you had to pay full price? Stormgate is in large parts F2P, the company has so far always acted on feedback, been very transparent and is clearly passionate about the game and genre. I take that over the money-grabbing crap we are getting from companies like Blizzard any day. And if the game isnt' for you: fine. That's totally ok, you can play something else. I'm putting my money on Frost Giant and Stormgate

I'm uploading a series next that has a few more maps. But yes, there needs to be more content (3rd Race, Tier 3 Units, more maps etc.). Still early though, so I guess we'll just have to have some patience

@@H0kie why should I? I am hoping and waiting for the game to come good. But it's my honest opinion about the gameplay. Right now the Bio mass tanky ganpley is just a bad copycat of StarCraft and it's unispiring. Should we just have good opinions or it's is allowed to criticize the game so developers can learn about what the people think?

First of all there's way more than just bio. If you've watched the games on this channel you've seen plenty of Mech as well. Additionally it's worth pointing out that this is a Technical Alpha/Beta. Of course this isn't fully balanced yet and lots of content that will impact balance is also missing (T3 units, 3rd Race etc.).

@@StormGate what I am seeing here is the direction of the game. The gameplay right now for Vanguard is very plain. The infernal player have to use all the colours of its army and the vanguard player can still win with a basic bio combo. My main critic is that storywise does not look good that big demons are hitting marines in head with 100kg explosive fireballs and they are loosing 5 percent of their health. Also looks quite demotivating when you are doing literally everything: drops, unit combinations etc and a basic bio army with the well known, quite boring and annoying marine+medviac+steam combo kills you anyway. Making the game somewhat more realistic, therefore more enjoyable would be a better way to go.

I feel like I'm repeating myself here, but you do know this is an Alpha/Beta with barely 60% of the content for 1on1 implemented, right? In that context complaints about balance are imho quite silly. The game will also have a campaign for lore and you can find the first novel/story on their website if that's something that's important to you.

Well it's still an Alpha/Beta and the gap in the top level of the ladder is actually not that big at the moment. But ofc a Beta isn't going to be fully balanced, especially without T3 units being available yet

i dont like the sieged atlas drops, but i see no reason why it should be changed since vanguard is already the "weaker" faction

I've always thought drop play was too strong, including in SC2. Either the drop or the pickup needs to take longer. And sieged Atlas pickups are right out!

I feel like seiger atlas pickups need to be hit somewhat given how much power they can give. Limiting one seiged atlas per evac may be a start, or somehow letting the atlas take damage when loaded. Like, if the atlas was slung underneath and split AA damage between it and the evac.

You'll have to be a bit more specific. What is jargon to you? There migth be some general RTS terms that are used, but I generally am trying to keep most of this fairly balanced. So if there's specific things you don't understand you can point them out and I'll make an effort to address it in future videos.

Most of this jargon seems to be basically SC terms with some SG unit names, though.

Well they just mentioned a few days ago that the third faction will be playable in the next update of the game (which is planned for mid April)

@@boxtears I think there's several reasons to it. But the biggest one is probably that by spreading out big reveals like the third faction they make sure that people continuously talk about Stormgate. That's pretty important from a marketing perspective. You want to make sure people always have something "new" to be excited about.

from what i have seen, vanguard has a potential to snowball with the unit veterancy, while infernal feel like they have more tools to play with in the early game in a vanguard vs infernal match it seems that the infernal are always ahead, and vanguard struggle to get even out the odds and are unable to snowball both sides seem well balanced, but infernal with the drops seem to more easily control the map and naturally win the economy game from there

For what it's worth, I'm yet to see a casted match won by Vanguard.

In general I feel that Infernal are slightly favored but for how incomplete the game is the balance seems pretty good. In terms of why I feel infernal feel stronger it's actually somewhat odd as I'd say that Vanguard actually have the vast majority of the advantages however the advantages that the infernals do have are so powerful that it more than tips the scales their way. I'd say that Vanguard units pretty much always feel much more efficient and versatile than infernal ones. Vanguard can expand quicker, have better information collection tools has substantially more mobile armies and a combat air unit that their infernal doesn't really have a great answer to (gaunts, shadow fliers, and shroud stones all have significant issues). In additional perks, I'd say that Vanguard bases are better (scrap yards, upgrades to habitats, sentries are significantly more versatile and powerful than shroud stones) and that veterancy snowballs significantly harder than animous, and even have a much wider variety of viable unit compositions For all of that though, the infernal have two massive advantages. The first is that their production method is significantly better than vanguards and that's even before you count the spell that recharges a building instantly. The charge system helps make build arrangements flexible at no long term cost, is forgiving for either poor macro or periods where you get caught up microing a long battle, and makes transitioning tech very easy (you produce your higher tech units with the same buildings and using the same charges as your basic units). The second significant advantage that infernal have is that the snowball-y nature of infest, combined with map creeps, and the threat of very early drops can give them extremely strong tempo which often rewards them map control and pins the vanguard player into their base. On a creep rich map like Broken Crown, losing map control generally means your opponent can either start their third faster or get a tech boost from the healing camps. Vanguard does have some options to try to fight for map control however each of these options requires a decent level of commitment and opportunity cost relative to what the infernal have to do to get serious value and/or present serious threat with a very few starting units Although I consider it less important than the other two factors I mentioned, I'll also acknowledge that having access to a genuine and threatening tier 3 unit also gives the infernal a notable lategame advantage despite how immensely expensive that unit is and how well hornets counter it.

It seems to tilt a bit towards Inf, but we're still discovering new strats every few days, so it might balance out in time.

No, as another ex-blizzard employee said, for just sc2, it took them way too much effort for less than 2% of the playerbase However, it is on that one NVIDIA thing so you might still be able to play it on mac
