This should be a national anthem
His version of Carrickfergus is also the best, by far.
My oldest brother Micheal passed away and I played this song at his memorial.
Wow, I have no idea how you could get through it? I can hardly keep from crying every time I hear it !
Great singer
An absolute genius at work. Greatest singer and voice to ever leave Ireland
How can you sing that beautiful song without crying?
Im an English man but this song is absolutely fantastic the lyrics show just how bad the ancestors of us all suffered at the hands of the justice system at that time. Beautifully written and sung love it with all of my being God bless and thank you for a fantastic and poignant song
Woody Guthrie and Martin Hoffman 1948. Some things don't change.
The Crown ran my poor ancestors out of their homes. Little do I respect the Brits!
Not a bad song from a derryman.what he knew was that derry people were undefeatable.
Ah well. 2024 and still great.ireland will always be Ireland.
The late Mick Moloney used to sing this song.

Am here because we just lost to Ireland in the group stages of the Rugby World Cup. Irish fans belted this tune at the stadium and had to search it out. Hope we meet again in the finals 😊
Great voice but surely the last verse should be the hanging?
Best there is
Isn't it the original version of the song, from 1972 or so by Paddy Reilly, Am I that old?
Oh, Paddy! God bless him! My heart is always with Ireland🇮🇪 I admire the kindhearted strong Irish people, remember Dublin, it's streets. I really miss everybody I know! ❤ From Russia with love.
