    Great video!!! My problem was a bit different. I had the same plugged drain line with calcium build-up on the rubber fitting mating with the evaporator tray drain (see 2:00 time point in video). Seem like a poor design with 2 tiny slits as he shows also in video. I cleaned that rubber fitting out with vinegar and I was good to go. I didn't have all the freezing in the evaporator tray that he had to deal with so mine was MUCH easier to deal with. Good luck!

    **PAY ATTENTION ***FYI, it'll continue to freeze over like that if you don't move the heat conductor from the condenser coil to the heater coil. Pause video at 4:29 and you can see a piece of aluminum rod attached to the condenser coil like a little hook. THATS WRONG! The manufacturer assembled it incorrectly. You need to move that "hook" just behind the condenser coil to the heater coil so it can transfer the heat and keep the drain hole from freezing over AGAIN...ask me how I know...besides that minor but absolutely crucial detail this video is great!

    Excellent! Thank you! My GE Profile design is slightly different, but this video got me to where I needed. I took off the tube, which has a U-bend at the bottom of it, did a quick blow on it, and the black junk that splashed up on my arm was truly a site to see! Yuck! In my case, I only had a small amount of ice on the bottom of the freezer compartment; just a layer maybe 3mm thick. I think my drain line was like 98% clogged, so enough such that some water could eke out. But sometimes, my fridge goes on a "wild super freeze" cycle, where it keeps running, and running, and running until, past -9F (which it appears is the min temp it will read; it actually gets colder), and that may be when it then does a "super defrost" phase, leading to more water, some of which leaks. I haven't been able to figure out why it does that. As far as the water leak goes, I'm not 100% sure I'm out of the woods yet, but keeping my fingers crossed, and again, the junk in that tube was incredible! Glad to clear that out!I have done a lot of work on this fridge over the last several years, which included design of a circuit / system to stop the water dispenser freeze-up problem Involves a couple of power resisters, steel epoxy, and more--I wish I had filmed it! They make a kit for that, but it fell apart; it was just a thin curly wire (nicrome?), with metal tape. The silver lining is that it helped identify power tap-in points.

    • @dadfixdit

    Just a couple of comments... that job is so much easier if you remove the freezer door. Its held on by bolts to the rails, just get that out of the way. Your drain tube needs something to keep air from going back up that tube, that's what that black device is supposed to do. GE has a redesigned drain for that model that is less prone to clogging.

    • @dadfixdit
      @dadfixdit Месяц назад

      Thanks for the comments. Yeah it could definitely be easier but for folks who may be intimidated it can be a little easier to just leave the door on but you make a good point! I’m glad to hear they redesigned the drain. Thanks for watching!

    I have a question: your repair will fix my problem if it have no hot water in the dishwasher? I have water is coming in, but dishes aren’t totally clean especially with oils or grease on the dishes, and I do notice its not hot inside the dishwasher after the dishwasher run. I do know my hot water heater IS working when the dishwasher is on….

    • @dadfixdit
      @dadfixdit Месяц назад

      There’s a good chance it could fix your problem. As with all of these appliances there could be multiple issues. But if your dishwasher isn’t heating the water above what your regular water heater puts out (hot water fill line) then yes, this may be your solution. The water that comes from your water heater isn’t hot enough to effectively clean or sanitize your dishes because if it was it would burn you. You need the heating element in the dishwasher to add extra heat to clean well. If you do a deep dive on the web you may be able to find a service manual that lets you activate the heating element to see if it works. If not, this is at least a cheap solution to try and you can probably return it if it doesn’t work. Thanks for watching!

      It’s a nice little unit. The pump only runs in short bursts so that really helps. If it ran continuously it would probably only last about 45 min or so. Great Video! I have a 1hp Drummond Sump Pump that I'm planning on pairing with EcoFlow Delta 2 to power it. Delta 2 shows a rating of 1024w with 1800 xboost. I have 4000w gas powered generator but when Im away at work I cannot start it obviously. Drummond unfortunately doesn't share their specifications for runtime and startup wattage so its hard to calculate the possible run time with Delta 2. Only info I got is 10amp and 120v. Im assuming that would be it's running time and not the startup. Since you have 3/4 HP pump, do you think Delta 2 would be sufficient enough during the maximum of 8 hours of being away at work?

    • @dadfixdit
      @dadfixdit Месяц назад

      Thanks for the feedback! So there are a few things to consider. A 1 HP pump should be pulling about 746 Watts during normal run. During startup you can probably expect it to surge to 1100 to maybe even 1300 watts (possibly more) but that’s only briefly. The Delta 2 has a rating of 1024 Wh which means if your pump ran (not including startup and zero losses internal to the unit- which doesn’t happen) it would be able to run it continuously for 1.3 hours. Now you have to take into account your startup surge and the losses internal to the EcoFlow for running the inverter and that prolly brings it down to 1.1 hrs. The next question to ask is how long does the pump take to cycle and during a big rain event how many cycles per hour will it run? If it only runs for 30 seconds and 10 times per hour that’s just 5 minutes per hour over 8 hours that would be 40 minutes of total run. Then add in the losses mentioned earlier and you’re probably at 50 minutes which should still be somewhat safe. I hope this all makes sense. Feel free to ask any more questions. I’m more than happy to help.

    • @immanuelreyes4580
      @immanuelreyes4580 Месяц назад

      @@dadfixdit i appreciate the comment and information shared. I have contacted Drummond the person i talked to doesnt seem to know the specifics as well… or not confident with it at all. They did mentioned the startup surge is 13amps which would be 1,560 watts which Delta 2 would be able to handle… but they also said the running wattage is 1200 watts (120v x 10amp) which I find odd and doesn’t sound right. I’d understand if it was in that 750-800 watt range.

    • @dadfixdit
      @dadfixdit Месяц назад

      @@immanuelreyes4580 yeah running wattage seems a little high but maybe its more than 1 HP. It should have a nameplate right on it that gives a lot of those details. But i think the Delta 2 would be fine. You could at least try it then worst case scenario you buy one of the add on batteries to expand its capacity. I know it’s a lot of $ but the peace of mind is invaluable.

    Great hack! Just found this video in August 2024, and am super thankful as I have one of those 12 ft inflatable ring pools outside with a stubborn inflatable pool edge ring that doesn't want to easily deflate. This will hopefully help me out a lot since I have those exact reusable straws and a shop vac. Thank you!

    Thanks for the video. I'm interested in using this for my sump pump.

      You’re very welcome. I think it’s a pretty good solution. Power outages seem to be more regular these days so a little peace of mind is worth it. Make sure you check out the first video too. Thanks for watching!

    Sadly this doesn't work anymore for me on Windows 10 as of Septermber 2024. Many thanks to you and your commenters, though, for the brief glimmer of hope.

      Oh man that stinks, I’m sorry it didn’t work for you. Logitech needs to get its act together. I hope you can find a solution. Oh and you tried running it as an administrator right? Thanks for watching!
