Hi Jeff, gerat Video Thank you Will a KingTech K142G4+ fit in this plane? Kind regards Roland
It will fit, but I suggest AG 4.Because the tailpipe is getting a little small for that kind of thrust
Telepype size is real critical on the fast start g five's
@@jeffholsinger3356 Thank you for this fast answer.
Thanks for the video, Jeff. Very clean set up you got there! I plan on getting one of these and want to keep the wing loading as light as possible for sport flying. I won't be installing the TV or smoke systems and would like to go with a K-86G4+. Having flown it now, would you say the additional thrust from the K-102G4+ is worth the extra weight over the K-86G4+? Not sure how much the TV and smoke systems weigh but based on the weight difference between the turbines and smaller RX batteries to balance, I'm thinking the jet will be at least a pound maybe even a pound and a half lighter than your set up. Thoughts?
The additional thrust from the larger turbine is noticeable but the difference in weight is a trade-off, it depends on your flying style and preference.
I think the K86 would be a great choice if you're not planning on vector thrust. The 102 is a lot of motor for sport flying in my opinion. And also, if you're flying off of a hard pavement, the 86 Would be a great choice . I have had the eighty six and the 102 both in an mb 339 not much difference in performance at all.
@@jeffholsinger3356 No plans for vector thrust, just sport flying and I do fly off of hard pavement. I'll stick with the K-86. Thank you for the insight, Jeff!
Would you recommend the 1.8 as a good "first turbine"? Considering getting one of these when the next shipment is available.
Well that is a good question? I would say maybe not. I would say the MB339 from Hangar9 is easier to see less money repairable not as fast , slower on landings. There is a lot to learn on turbines jets. But it all depends on the pilot.
Hi Jeff thank you for the great videos. How do I get your phone number? I have a couple of setup questions with the supplied ball links etc.. Thanks Rich
Thanks, Jeff for the video. Kindly share the gyro gains on your synapse. Thanks again.
It is talked about at the end of the video for my setting.
jeff would you use the same process fortransferring from an ix20 to an ix14
I have never been able to get data to Bluetooth from A ix 20 to and IX14 directly. There is a video that I show how to put the I. SM files on a desktop and. Go for that direction.
Very kind review in helping others. Great video work also!
Glad it was helpful!
Great information. Never noticed the shadow X in the casing. Thank you for explaining this so completely.
Im having a problem on my ix20, my battery continously drains even after i turn it off and while i charge the battery from inside the transmitter it beggings to boot loop. I bought another battery (not spektrum) but the problem stays. Any ideias?
You’re paying for quality I’d rather do that then support commie china imo
G'day Jeff, great video mate. Just a few questions. Did you take out the thrust tube to run your rudder extension and run it along the top or bottom?and did you use the recommended throws on the skywing video for low and high rates?
Yes take the tube out. Ran the wires on the bottom with the rest of the wires. Wire tie keepers are aero poxy to the bottom to keep wires secure. Throws are a little less than they show but real close may adjust after the first flights. Thank for asking........
Great video Jeff. Lots of good information.
Hi Jeff, thank you for sharing. It will be great if you can share your Transmitter settings for this same plane. Thanks.
After the first flights and I am ok with the throws I will be glad to. But right now it is just about set to the factory suggestions. The flaps are a little hard to get there throws , I think I am about 7 deg less.
I didn’t know naphtha was pronounced napa.
Hi Jeff, have you made part-2 of this yet? Thanks
Thanks for the very informative video ❤
oh my goodness gracious! if only Michael Wargo had explained it like this when I started in the hobby last year! Thanks!
Hi Thanks for the quick informative video .. how was the CG after test flight? Any fine adjustment?
It is great at these setting very safe C/G.. It is just right here
@ thanks 👍
IMHO: HAVING "GYROS" TO HELP "STABILIZE" OUR AIR VEHICLES, IS VITAL, BECAUSE WE ARE NOT GETTING ANY DIRECT, IMMEDIATE FEELINGS FOR THE "G-FORCES", BECAUSE WE'RE NOT "ONBOARD".... ALL WE MIGHT BE GETTING IS THE DELAYED VISUAL FEEDBACK, THEN, OUR DELAYED REACTION TIME, AND, LIKELY OVER/UNDER CONTROL, WOULD LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC CONTROL RESULTS!!!...
So basically you know how to make a cruise missile! 😮
What Spektrum recievers can be used on small turbine jets ? Like the sebart mini avanti with K45g4 ? Is it possible to contact you directly ?
Hi, you can call me at 9375327333
OMG your funny…. “Build a Pro R on a Budget”.. lolololol.
You right, more money than a lot of new cars.
Jeff does the AR20410T have the option to modulate the brakes? For my turbine I got an AG68 brake gyro to have proportional braking.
Tony hi.It does not support any kind of brake module functions that is typically handled by the third party gear door and or retract controller
Sorry, I have been out of the hobby for 40 years, I used to fly rc fixed wing and helicopter. I would use a gyro on the tail rotor in the heli, but never used one in a fixed wing. Why do you use a gyro in a fixed wing, and how does it integrate with the controls?
A gyro system for airplanes stabilizes the alerons.Rudder and elevator makes the plane much more stable especially in windy conditions.
Hot glue them in. Done. Need to remove it? Rubbing alcohol
The brakes are terrible
Hi Jeff. you know anyone who is selling a Spektrum DX18 radio Mode 2? Great vid brother.
Nice video Jeff , what size are the 2 cell batteries you are using for the receiver itself
5000mah hard packs needed for weight smart packs gen2
These were design by a friend of mine in NC. named Ken, His are the best I have seen, But there are a lot of different style on different web sites that work well. email for me is jeffn8jfa@aol.com
Nice!
Hi Jeff great video I don't know where to find your email address, are you able to post a reference to the stl files you used for printing all these items?
That's awesome just set up mine like that 1st jet not done maden that will make life easier 😂
Nobody tell about GPS moduls on the brand new NX8+ and AR8360T+ recivere. is it possible to see speed on the plane with the GPS module
A little off topic question? Is there a video on how to turn on your airplane from the transmitter, thanks
yes I am about to do one on programming the system soon
Any links? What size chase light bar is that?
All from amazon.
I've been trying to tell guys about servo arm length and not turning down the travel in their transmitter for years. I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows this. Thanks! - However, when the gain channel is at -100%, the gyro gain is zero. When the gain channel is at 0 (the center), the gain is 50% of the max value, and when the gain channel is at +100%, the gyro gain is 100% of the max value. The gain channel doesn't need to go below -100% or above +100%. It's been like this in the AR636 and the newer Smart AS3X/SAFE receivers, and still is with the new AS3X+ firmware. And, this applies to the AS3X, SAFE, Heading, Stop Lock, and Stop Release gains. Also, Miguel says they've doubled the gain in the AS3X+ algorithm, plus they've added the sensitivity settings of 0.25X and 0.5X. I'm having to change my setups from 1X to 0.5X to keep my planes from going into oscillation. I like to use a gain sensitivity that allows me to set the gains between 30 and 70 percent. I don't like using the bottom or top 30% of the scale. I calibrated precision test equipment for 35 years and we never used the bottom 25% of scale in our measurements. Check out my latest video on using AS3X+ with my iX14 transmitter.
Thank you
Really good explanation of the reason for maintaining maximum servo resolution.
Ya, he nailed it. It's not complicated, but it can be hard to explain
Great video as iv just got this as my 1st jet
We need more turbine trainers on the market. Some folks want to be the Tom Cruise of the airfield and play Topgun music while flying the jet on pavement for bragging rights...
Any chance I could get a measurment from you on the exact width of the exhaust outlet without the thrust tube. I'm bulding mine EDF and everything hinges on what the size of the outlet is as to the fan unit I can use.
I will try to get a measurement tonight on a spare pipes that I have
@@jeffholsinger3356 I'm sorry, what I need is the measurement of the opening of the outlet of the plane, not the pipe.
Wow! nice to know. I've been out of RC for a few years and just getting back In . So much has changed, it is hard to keep up. Thanks
Just had my first turbine flight. What fun. No going back
hi my name is Bill and have been an aero moudler for 40 years and this is my first Turbine and have gone all out whith the purchase of plane and recomened equipment incluiding a new IX20se and a synaps reciver and was interested if you could point me in the right direction for programing and thanks for all your help in my build
what a nice video.. thank you man... really helpful
do you have a link or model name for the charger you use not the usb c
What’s the difference between the g4 and g5 king tech turbines? Is it true the military scheme mb339 has upgraded landing gear?
The G5 starts faster than the G4.And the landing gear is upgraded in this model
Nice plane Jeff. Hey Jeff, I have the MB339 (non-military version 1) MB, and I am looking to upgrading it with buying and installing the gear from the military scheme MB. Is the gear controller box for both Version 1 and Version 2 are the same, that way all I need to do is buy from Horizon the version 2 gear and drop it in. Thanks.
Yes, the boxes are the same.Only differences the color the new boxes red in color
Also what is the minimum battery voltage that you should not fly the airplane? Thanks. Great videos
What is the fully charged battery voltage, to know when you have a full charge.
