I saw this film when it first came out. Yes, I got free tickets to see it. Along with 5 other people. We saw it a massive theatre where there was approx. only 30 other people watching it. All 6 of us pissed ourselves laughing through the entirety of the film. Not because it was a 'comedy' but because it was so bad that we couldn't believe that someone would make this shit and somehow have prominent star casting for it. It was God Awful and when it finished we went over all the horrible cringe things about the film. The ridiculousness of the film. What I remember was the almost empty theatre showing the film and thinking, "Yeah, this film is going to bomb hard". I was really surprised that it gained traction and that people actually liked it. o.O WEIRD!

It really like how you keep things in context. The economic class hierarchy is inseparable from patriarchy. Patriarchy seeks to emasculate me as 1. A poor man 2. A black man 3. A black man who's white passing And it does all this because my status, as all three of these things, threatens the hell out of Patriarchy. I have been raised with a black ethic towards feminism, but I am white passing. This means that white people are never prepared for the things that come out of my mouth. This frightens them. My masculinity, and the power that I derive from it, make the rich feel terrified because I came to my power genuinely, instead of having bought it.

Not any longer 😂 Having been a single cat lady these past 11 years, I’m happier and healthier than I was 20 years ago as a wife then single parent, so it’s never too late!

As a black man, it's "all" white people until I am shown diffetently. I create mental space for white people to show up as they are and I believe their actions. I think the word "exception" is tricky. If a man is a true ally of women, he probably wasn't born that way. He actively challenged beliefs he was raised with and societal norms that he was conditioned into. He did not come out of his youth untouched. Rather he put in the inner work and challenges those toxic norms daily. I think at most being a self-aware person is rare and depends greatly on how one was raised. America voted for Trump though so my opinion of my fellow citizens isnt particularly hopeful. Best to just be slightly on guard when dealing with men. It's just good sense.
