    Nice, that looks good. I’m working on doing a my dirt bike parts and pieces that are made from steel/stainless steel. Definitely have come across a few pieces with way more chromium in them than others and they tend to take a few days worth of bluing process to get them to fully convert. I read that the oxide layer is porous so mixed in some black oxide powder I bought into my 3-1 oil and it definitely darkens it a bit further, but needs to be wiped down really well to remove all the residual.

    I have a model 90 in 22 long. It was having feed issues. The lifter wasn't lifting and the rounds in the mag were sticking out not letting the lifter come up. 22 LR work in it as I believe it was converted to shoot those LR rounds. I hope the chamber was also drilled some to allow for the bullet length difference (case length is same for L and LR) Does that subtract from the value?

    • @mudroomgunswithtom
      @mudroomgunswithtom 2 месяца назад

      They say removing the rust detracts from the value. Or even shooting As you can see from my videos and others have written their sisagreemenr for me a good looking good shooting gun is value to me. I don't xare. As for your feed issue sounds like wrong side ammo

    I have a Flobert the same as the one in the video. The rifling is non-existent. Would it be safe to shoot in.22 LR if I had the barrel relined by an experienced gunsmith who knew what he was doing?

    • @mudroomgunswithtom
      @mudroomgunswithtom 7 месяцев назад

      If yours is the same as mine it would be dangerous to fire .22lr. They are too powerful for the little spring mechanism and you could get blowback. These things were designed for indoor use. The gun was designed to use the BB cap or CB cap They are rimfire rounds with no gunpowder in them. Get mine from CCI online. Fairly cheap Although I don't shoot mine in my parlor, I shoot outside, it is a fun back yard gun

      @@mudroomgunswithtomokay Tom My rifle interlocks the hammer and firing pin block when the hammer is down. This makes it impossible tomorrow retract the firing pin block because of the mechanics of the interlock. The hammer HAS to be at half cock or full cock to be able to move the firing pin block. Tom, this has been a boon for me! Thank you SO much. My short rifle is non-matching, receiver #A1613, barrel #91020P which, I'm guessing, makes it an early manufacture. It does have the Modelo 1912 on the SIDE, and a clear Colombian crest on top. Fires 7x57 but it's missing the top hand guard. I've unsuccessfully tried the usual suspects (Numrich, LibertyTree, MillColl, Myers, Sarco). Seems to be ~10-3/8" (~265mm), that allows it extrude about 1/8" past the 3/8" barrelband. Any leads anyone, please? Des O'Neill, Sparta, TN.

    • @mudroomgunswithtom
      @mudroomgunswithtom 8 месяцев назад

      I took a handguard and cut the end off and then used a dremmil to thin the end enough to fit under the band. Not perfect but really close enough

    Very cool! Interesting rifle. And I agree...shoot those rifles. They're beautiful pieces to hold and look at and just love! But I like to have love reciprocated back at me whether it's a mule kick recoil or tac drivin' down range! That comes from shootin' em! So do what ya gotta do and good luck! I'm trying to convert 350 Legend to 5.45x39...AK74 round. That Russian ammo ban you mentioned, skyrocketed that cartridge to nearly a dollar a round....talkin' steel here smh! I can get 60-70% ejection rate. The other 30-40% get smashed by the bolt because the extractor can't grip the smaller 350L rim enough to bring it back to the ejector pin! The bolt loses grip of the case after it clears the chamber causing it to be suspended around the ejection port and then it's smashed by the bolt coming home! I'm almost there!
