Buddy Parker Band - Under The Influence of Love
The wife (Cheryl) and I attended this concert. Cheryl is from Flint Michigan and if you know anything about GFR ...you know they got their start in Flint. Before they were GFR ...they were Terry Knight and the Pack. Cheryl use to go see them in Flint before they became famous. I talked the concert manager at BG into giving me meet & greet passes and we got to visit with Don & Mel for about an hour. Cheryl, Don, and Mel took a reminiscing trip back to all the venues they performed at in Flint that are no longer. We had such a good time and those guys are two of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I had them sign the meet & greet passes and I have them in a safe place :)
Great Story! Thanks for sharing
Let me try to explain a bit about this show in response to all the critical “No Mark, No Funk” remarks. As I would agree this is a not true representation of the Band in their well deserved glory, this was a free show included with the regular purchase price to the park. It was a Beautiful day and the crowd had a great time. Watch the whole show. These guys didn’t phone it in. They rocked. Why? They’re professional entertainers and know how to put on a show. Top notch musicians and much better than a tribute band that is so popular today. Yes, there is no Mark but relax, enjoy the show and reminisce if the 70’s. Greatest decade of music in my opinion. It was a very cool scene and they couldn’t have been nicer guys. Just like the Guess Who (No Burton, No Randy) but again, they knew how to put on a show and rocked! Keep the love and the vibe alive. And here’s to your favorite band that never breaks up. -RC
I love Grand Funk Rail road, greatest musicians since 1970
Fake Grand Funk
Back in the 80s and. The fans. would have been singing. The songs and drowning the band out. so sad.
Love these guys in concert....however. ........I just don't get the Donnie thing ...can't sing.....plays rhythm acoustic but who can't.....has a GREAT name in music history.....that's it...... just sayin.... unless he wrote all the songs .....dead weight... please someone educate me. I'm not trying to be negative just honest
What a shame, Don and Mel are such excellent musicians but to abandon Mark, your sound is not even nearly the same and you've become Grand Junk Failroad. Sorry guys, meaning no disrespect.
They need to read these comments.
This is soda pop music. No Mark No Funk!!!
To stand the test of time all these years as a classic rock band, they've proven themselves worthy of every thing they get. May God bless them, and carry them forward in our time.
No Mark Farner…..!!!!…….sounds ordinary. This sounds like a common cover band
Nope! Funk gone dry😮 Posers
Fake not the same as original
THIS AIN'T GRAND FUNK GIVE ME A BREAK, WITHOUT MARK?!?!
Where's Farner?
Sorry, I didn't make it 2 minutes into this.
Thank you for 38 special
Who's that walking with the microphone stand?
Donnie Van Zant
@bklarson17 thank you
Years ago, we did not honor our veterans the way we should have. Charlie changed all that, not only with Still in Saigon, but the honor and the glory that he gave our veterans, especially from an unpopular war where men gave their lives, not only from being killed. Charlie helped a nation to heal, and did more than anyone else to help heal this nation after Vietnam.
Funny how it takes two guys to fill Farner's shoes!! No Farner, No Funk!!
Sorry guys...Mark Farner's band. Mark made this band. Sounds NOTHING LIKE GRAND FUNK WITHOUT MARK !!
They are my most favorite band
Mark Farner es el alma de Grand Funk... creo que todos pensamos lo mismo...
Where's Mark?
I had all there albums. Regardless this dude can still play Drums man. 💪💪
Cover band. Without Farner: no Grand, no Funk, no Railroad.
Tribute band
Without Farner they absolutely suck
Saw CDB numerous times. Never regret one. Awesomeness. My Great Uncle had a lounge and restaurant in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Love ya
Really great music & action on stage. Singing is great too!
I saw you when you played in Medford, Oregon. I totally felt ripped off. Is that how you want your fans to feel. Thanks, Don and Mel. I still feel angry about it. If you want to make your fans happy, you would go out with the real band and video tape all the shows to end with a great DVD for the fans that supported you from the start. What don't you get? It's not the same without Mark. Please forgiveness is where it is at. Try it and see. You most likely would have a great time and make your fans happier.✌️😄👌
That is not Grand Funk, and you know it. You should call it GRAND FROUD HOW DARE YOU.
It is lame. I’ve lost all respect for Don and Mel. It’s so lame!
They are a great band but Don Barnes does not do them justice as a lead singer
Don Barnes is not a lead singer
OMG This is awfully embarrassing, especially the singer
I would've demanded a refund...
This doesn't sound like the band that I knew and whose concerts I attended many times. However, Mel Schacher, and Don Brewer are good but they were only two thirds of the great band that I knew and without Mark Farner the band is no longer Grand Funk Railroad. I stopped listening and going to concerts when they added the fourth member and changed their music.
Charlie Daniels .I saw him 4 times. He shook my hand at the lake. Best performer ever and sorrily missed. Peace.😢
Play devil went down to Georgia
Really good bassist
Max Carl is a fucking joke! THT'S RIGHT I SAID IT!!!
Wooo this was a great band to grow up with!
Typical ego trip musicians no Mark Farner Mark farner's Grand funk railroad not Don Brewer.. Don, you should be ashamed yourself. You let your ego get in your way. You will burn in hell
This is NOT grand Funk! there is no Mark Farner!!!!!!
I saw Grand Funk Railroad last year at Wild Adventures in Lowndes County, Georgia. While Don Brewer and Mel Schacter did an admirable job of reprising GFR’s greatest hits, it just wasn’t the same without Mark Farner in the band. Hey, he WAS one-third of the band! Time to break bread, mend some fences, bury the hatchet, and bring back Mark Farner!
The only 2 originals that I see are Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant.Donnie retired around 2013. 38 special are touring now.Don Barnes is only original left, they played Knoxville TN couple weeks ago,and the new lineup now sounds pretty good.Don Barnes seems to sound better than he did a few years ago.
Larry is playing bass.
WOW!
Is that Donny Chaunsey on second guitar?
Egos destroyed this band. No Mark? Bye!
Tengo 61. Gracias y salud!
