Watch that first drive by the Rams. They threw a screen to the RB and NO ONE on the Vikings D was there to cover him. He then turned it upfield and the Vikings D looked like they were guys flying around the ball but no one sticking their heel in and stopping the play. It looked like 7 on 7 football. I think Flacco should just throw screens and then watch Metellus and these guys turn their back and be blocked out of the play. I hope the Vikings D changes this!

Everyone keeps saying that the Colts defense is static, "vanilla" and gets smoked just because it is not a modern type mix it up defense. They are the anti-Vikings in that they allegedly keep everything the same and show the same look. Based on fantasy football numbers, their D is 17th vs the pass and 18th vs the run.

The Vikes are absolutely not falling apart. The lost narrowly to the now conference leading Lions, and on the road to a near full strength Rams. Folks seem to have forgotten that a significantly understrength Rams pushed the Lions and Packers to the limit. Everyone is underestimating the Rams, just like they ignored the Vikes early season win over the Giants. The preconception was that the Giants were terrible, but they have generally been feisty - just ask the Seahawks.

Cam Robinson's PFF (Pro Football Focus) rating is 69.4. Darrisaw's PFF rating was 81. So it's obviously a downgrade. To start in the NFL you usually have to have a PFF rating of about 62. So he is a starter in terms of quality.

Reassuring. Sounds like Cam Robinson is a competent starting LT, if not at Darrisaw's level. At least he won't be a turnstyle for every Edge with a couple clever moves, or a blocking dummy to be knocked over backwards, like the Quiz. Christian Darrisaw 2021-12 games, 2022-14 games, 2023 - 15 games, 2024 - 7 games, I don't care how good he is, when he plays, the guy cant make it through a full season. We should have traded him before his big contract.

I did not like giving up trade picks at all for this, but I thought Matthew Caller had a good point. For that late round pick, when would the expectation for that player to actually draw value? Within the 5 year McCarthy window, that draft pick will likely finally being seeing the field, and if they are good looking for a contract. I think it makes sense in the ebs and flows around QB money. When your QB is cheap, you can rely on expensive talent, when they are expensive, you need draft talent.

You couldn’t have been more misleading with the “essentially a 6/7 pick swap”. Not at all true. Assuming he plays the rest of the games and doesn’t get hurt it’s a 4th round pick for him. 5th from us turns into a 4th and the 7th from them goes away.

Addison isn’t getting enough targets and I promise it’s not because of KOC. Darnold needs to understand who is getting bracketed and who’s getting the 1v1. If Darnold only keeps forcing the ball to JJ then this offense will be limited. If Darnold throws the ball to Addison vs the Rams in 1v1 situations, we win that game easy.

Trade Addison and our first rounder to the Giants for Lawrence and their second. The Giants are in start over mode as they will need to move on from Jones. They can pair Addison with Nabors for their next young QB. Lawrence will be past his prime by the time they are ready to contend. The Vikings desperately need an upgrade up front and they are getting Hockenson back, which would make Addison the third option anyway.

So the Vikings #2 WR is going to social media to complain about lack of touches, and pundits are throwing out trade rumors about acquiring a WR....with Hockinson coming back next week. It makes you wonder if people actually review the roster or watch the games before reporting unfounded rumors. I mentioned in a reply that the Vikings aren't a player away from a deep playoff run, and QB is at the top of that list.. I like Darnold, and he is playing reasonably well.....but he isn't taking you anywhere past a wild card appearance. I "think" that's obvious, but opinions may vary.
