Excelente video un saludo desde Argentina
Just wondering if you checked the valve lash/clearance when reassembling the the engine? Also is there a reason you aren't using any assembly lube when reassembling? just a thought as it will help protect the engine when you go to start it up again for the first time, even just some oil on the cam journals/bearings will help reduce your chances of damage.
@@lvkascole95 the valve lash was check, that was one of the reasons for disassembling the engine. Can’t see it in the video, but I used when assembling it, plus I cranked the engine without the fuel pump, to let the oil go thru the oil passages before starting it.
@ if you used it that’s good, but my recommendation is to use more next time, if you can’t see it you’re probably not using enough, even cranking the engine without ignition can be damaging without enough lubrication. Maybe next time you’re doing an engine rebuild you can show the process of checking the valve clearances as a point of interest?
@ will try to do so when an opportunity arises to show it again
Always great 👍 video

Buen trabajo . Se puede cambiar la cadena de distribución a ese motor sin necesidad de sbrirlo por completo . Abriendo la cadena ,??
@@tgap8817 the chain goes around the crankshaft, if you don’t want to add a master link or re-press the chain back together, then you’ll have to disassemble the engine completely
🎉
Hey thanks for this informative video, i do have this issue i wanted you to please share your thoughts. There's a ticking noise (not magnet related since it does have the reinforced flywheel) coming apparently from the timing chain of the engine - I presume. The ticking sound speeds up as i rev the bike and i dont notice any loss in power as i drive it. I don't want to fully open the throttle to test though! At engine startup I may hear a slap but not everytime, however it starts fast regardless of how many days it's sitting. Can it be something else than the timing chain? Bike has 96K kmh.
@@gamelizz have you checked the valve clearances? It could be worth taking off both covers and inspecting the engine from the sides. Also check if the tensioner is actually applying any pressure to the chains guide.
@restorationvalve really appreciate your comment. I havent checked them in this service cycle but i will have to and check from the sides as well. Cheers🎉

Il mio é completamente bloccato, va riparato in questo modo?
@@antoniotenacefishingrod9573 hard to understand you, I’m not familiar with your language. I presume you mean that you have a seized engine. If you want to know if it’s worth fixing, that’s all depends on how much you want to spend on the bike. It definitely won’t be cheap.
Nice video bro. Enjoyed. The air filter change is probably more complicated to do. :)
@@RRRRefuelRideRace the air filter isn’t that bad, you just have to remove the side plastics and fuel tank to get to the air filter cover.
@@restorationvalve I see. A bit more of screwing. :) Can check my content when you can. Cheers bro.

And you think that crank shaft is still true, after whacking it with a hammer and dropping it on the work bench? That's why I don' t trust "mechanics" to work on my bikes.
@@mementomori4972 thanks for the input👍. Can share that the engine in the video is happily running. Did the same on my red DR, after 8000km the engine is still running strong.
@@restorationvalve It will run, even if the shaft is out of spec but it won't run optimal and it will wear faster and you fckng know it!..There is a reason why it takes time and costs money to get a crank true and balanced but if your excuse for doing things like that to a customers bike is, "bUt iT rUns" then you're beyond good advice anyways. I'm just sorry for your customers.
How difficult is it to pull the headliner out of the car through the door opening?
@@DominicPace-r5y not that bad, I got it out thru the back door. You just have to be patient and work slow.
@@restorationvalvethanks! I’ve seen in other videos where they pulled out all the seats, steering wheel and centre console. Seemed a bit over the top, glad I don’t have to pull the whole car apart!
How hard was it to pull the headliner out through the rear door opening? Besides reclining the front seats, any other tips to make it easier?

I can't get the shell off. I did this before but I have one that I can't get off. Suggestions? Can I pry?
@@seer7327 Yeah, you could try applying some force to it, but just with cousin. Make double sure that everything is unbolted before attempting it. It could be possible that some has applied some sealant underneath it.
@@restorationvalve Thank you! I managed to pry it off using a plastic pry tool on the bottom edge of one side while applying force with my hand on the other. I sprayed some penetrating/lubricating fluid and that also likely helped.
