James Davies Wedding Photography | Introduction Video
Hi, I'm James, a wedding photographer based in Kent (UK) with a natural, modern & unobtrusive style and this is my promotional video.
My documentary wedding photography style is all about photographing the day as it naturally unfolds, composing myself quietly to capture the emotions of the bride, groom, and guests as they smile, laugh, and dance throughout the day. I will photograph not only the tiny details but also the epic moments, all in a way that doesn't interrupt the flow of your wedding. My goal is to make you and your guests feel comfortable and relaxed on the day. Therefore, I will never ask anyone to pose or order you around; instead, I work around everyone, capturing all the a...

On this journey through Colorado & Utah during the autumn of 2022 I use a 50mm #anamorphic lens with a 1.8 squeeze factor to photograph & film the famous Rocky Mountains and red rock canyons. I use the #leica SL2-s to capture a set of Cinemascope photographs that replicate the 2:35 widescreen look of cinema. I also use a set of M Mount adapted vintage Voigtlander lenses to capture a series of c...

    The narration/storytelling beautifully finish the stunning video. And unlike me, you approached the colour grade with restraint & maturity. I would’ve whacked up the contrast like a mug 😂 A breakdown of your video colour grade would be v interesting. Lots of annoying questions. Stunning beyond words 💐🤝

    Holy shit this was incredible. I loved the slow subtle movements of the camera and of course the photos are beautiful. Utah being my home it was great seeing so many familiar places.

    Great stuff James, Random question: why did you use the S1 for the video instead of doing all with the Leica? Really like the dynamic range of the video and wondering if you could have achieved the same look with the SL2S

    • @JamesDaviesPhotography
      @JamesDaviesPhotography 4 месяца назад

      Thanks 👍🏼 the S1 shoots in open gate 3:2 so you get alot more height on the anamorphic video compared to the Leica which only shoots in 16:9 or 17:9 where you end up with quite a thin image. I also found a problem with the SL2s where when you shoot video it randomly flickers in the corners which would ruin my footage. Apart from the flickering the video image out of the Leica is really nice.

      @TheCoralClimb 4 месяца назад

      @@JamesDaviesPhotography Thanks for the insights! Didn't know about this possible flickering issue. Anyhow, great shots, lovely grading super appropriate for that kind of landscape content. especially the way you retained information in the shadows

    Well this is something really special, wonderful cinematic work, and I shoot my SL2-s along side the Xpan but didn’t think of using 3.1 aspect ratio, will definitely try this out 🤙

    Beautiful film. Just a couple of nit picks - Ouray is pronounced You-ray, not Ooo-ray, and the “Tower of Babel” formation is not 5000 ft. high, rather it is ~300 ft. tall. 5000 ft is nearly a mile.

    This might be one of the best videos I've ever seen on RUclips, which I have been watching avidly for 10 years. The stunning editing, audio, photography and videography is so high quality I can barely even begin how to comprehend how you did this all on such a small setup. I'm camping soon, I feel inspired to try this.

    Wonderful. I love Colorado (I am from New York, but currently live in Georgia 🙁), I used to think the photos I saw of Colorado in National Geogrsphic were the result of manipulation in the darkroom. I was very pleasantly surprised on my first trip there. I was looking for the second installment.

    So, at the moment, I don’t have a computer. I want to just play with an anamorphic lens. Is there any app for a phone that can de-squeeze the file or can I just easily do that in Lr? And I want to try video capability of my camera, is there any app I can download to process a short video?

    Well done. You found the beauty in the small towns that the twenty first century economy has left behind. When you return to New England you might focus on the abandoned factories many of which were made of brick and even field stones; always built beside a river which they used for power. Really enjoyed these four videos.
