TWSBIs usually aren't scratchy, it's the shimmers that make nibs feel scratchy. I don't trust FWP inks too much xD not a lot of them are great and most shimmers create a scratchy sound when you write because of their particles scratching against the nib and paper if the ink isn't lubricated. But my Fine Jowos do have some feedback to them, so I'm not sure if you're getting feedback or scratchiness. Though your ink colors with your pens are on point! :D I always hate when shimmers make things go south a bit xD

Get a sheet of micromesh. Just a few figure 8 rotations and your Jinhao nib with be perfect. I love my Jinhao 82 pens!

That is the way i swatch inks. The best way imo ? I must get some Deatrementis Document Ink and i really like the Aldous Huxley. A little like Diamine Aurora Borealis, at least pretty similar 😋👍👍👍

I'm a bit late watching this, but have to say I did enjoy this video. Glad to see you finally in the cousin. It's very understandable that you think of the content pleasing your audience but honestly the best part of these videos is watching people do things in different styles. At the same time you can think about could this or a part of this style be something I could try. Like our planning style and taste don't match at all, but I keep coming back for the cozy vibes of the video. It's also nice seeing when design choices I would not choose, come together in the end and look nice.

I just want to say I absolutely love your channel. I also love that your videos are long. I hope you have a wonderful 2024.

Love pen collection videos! You have a nice classy looking bunch of pens! My favourite budget pens are jinhaos, particularly the swan model has written so well for me and was the cheapest coming in at a dollar lol...although they look a bit childish, so not for everyone. I really want to try the pilot kakuno. Everyone says that is a great starter pen. I have quite a few more expensive pens on my want list ... really hoping I can get a benu this year.

The clear plastic cover is measured to the book by mm. Of course adding all sorts of material there would cause it not to fit

I love my Hongdians, actually more than my Jinhaos. I have the Peacock one as well and the N8 Maple leaves one!

I do think you can buy the black lamy converters separately on goulet pens

TBH, I don’t even pay attention to the ads that much! It doesn’t deter me from watching creators that I get value from. I am using an A6 Hobonichi Avec, so that is why I’m here 😉. I think it’s super cool that you are using it for vocabulary. I’m a fellow word nerd 😊

My LPD fit perfectly, with room left.. but ive heard to make it work you just get a hairdryer and stretch it out.. it takes less than 5 minutes. The Midori everyone talks about didn't fit mine (i have a hon).

Adrianne, I never leave comments. I’m happy to watch everyone’s creativity. But, when you mentioned your father used to cover your notebooks with paper bags, I had to comment! My father was very artistic and had beautiful penmanship. He would write out the subject of each textbook in beautiful font. I remember my History book was done with red, white and blue flag theme. He could make a plain paperbag book cover look like a work of art. You mentioning that brought back wonderful memories. Thank you for that. I like your ideas and set up! Yes, it’s a process and I too am glad when it’s done. I’m sure you’ll enjoy planning in your beautiful 2024 planners 😊

Just got to the part about the LPD cover. Yesterday mine arrived and I used a hairdryer on the spine to stretch the cover and it did fit. I specifically wanted the LPD for the pockets. Interestingly Sterling Ink plastic covers don't fit their new planners as the new planners have a thicker cover and I had use a hairdryer to the A6. 😮

I'm going to guess the clear cover didn't fit so great because of the number of pages in the Hobonichi (over 500, compared to the 369 mentioned in the product description), even though Tomoe River paper is a lot thinner than most. But I totally understand your frustration because one of the reviews specifically mentions using it on a Hobonichi. (I could be wrong because I don't have a full year Hobonichi on hand to measure. But if it's thicker than 0.5", that's probably it.) That tip-in tape is amazing! I had never heard of it before, and now I’m going to look into it. I appreciate your videos and life outlook. I think similarly, so I enjoy hearing the thought process behind your choices. I'm using an a5 Kinbor for 2024, and I'm really excited to get into it. I couldn't handle the price of the Hobonichi this year, and the T.R. paper was annoying me with the slow drying times in the one T.R. notebook that I tried this year. I used it as a planner for a month to try it out and realized that it wasn't overly practical for me, since I always use a fountain pen and occasionally need to close my planner quickly and take it with me. I've found the Kinbor paper to be a pleasant fountain pen experience with similar ghosting to T.R. paper but faster drying times. I may change my mind when I get into full-time use, though!

The MD (midori) clear plastic cover A5 for Codex, fits perfectly on the Hobonichi Cousin. Not the not the “normal” but the one “for Codex”. 😊

loved your plan with me! I always have to have my academic deadlines/assignments in my main planner! Since it’s such a big part of my daily life it’s had to separate the two. Love that you’re able to give planners/covers to your family. I love being able to share covers, and making planner set ups for my mom and sisters!
