Not a 2024 jeep 392 or a fancy bronco but an OG jeep, I respect it👊🏼
When did people get to the point where they throw themselves off balconies just for fun...and when something bad happens they just cry...
Air down fella
Brand new tires with about 100 miles on them. I am at 10psi. Just had to break them in right.
So much air pressure...
Like this jeep. How much have you done to this jeep
Nice work
Old Ford handled it like a pro , way better than a raptor 😂😂😂
Very cool in a good looking old school FORD well done sir
That flex was beautiful!!
When in doubt, go 'Comanche'
Great job spotter
Thank you. I was kinda proud of this one. I have spotted a few jeeps up this before but nothing filled that hole like this beast. It was so close on each side, zero room for errors.
Damn.. Moab local hear... Was trying to figure out if i was there in the background and what year it was takin... Then i saw the wheels and suspenzion.. And sxs and realized not oldschool like i thought. Way cool though
@@austinavery4772 this was at ejs a couple years ago
That's a beauty. Perfect color.
🎉
Built ford tuff 😂
They dont make em like that anymore 😂
Someone who knows how to drive
Beautiful truck
This shit is dumb as hell
Hell yeah
Sooo jelly;😂
What a beautiful old Ford.
He said he it has a 5.0 out of a mustang under the hood
Until one day doing shit like this it won’t be anymore.
It's already scratched to shit down the door.
@cdsmit27 minor that's minor... is it original paint job?
@@cdsmit27 i is a full custom build withthe soul purpose of being a rock crawler
Love to see this. And a new raptor valued at least double or whatever would be struggling.
He said he had a 5.0 out of a mustang under the hood
Skills
Nice. Where in Washington?
In Buckley area
Did you ever finish this?
I did. Well, yes and no...This axle in this video had cast wedges and was going to be hard to weld to, so I sold it and got a 1978 f250 housing. Exactly the same but with thicker tubes and no wedges. I then used the knuckles from the axle in this video to keep the new axle 5 lug. It has been a couple years with zero problems. I failed to do videos on the build because it took a few months to acquire all the parts and build. But, after about 3 years on the trail and road, it is going strong. My more recent clips show it in action. I will be doing a walk around video soon to highlight the build progress. I regret not getting it on video but it is built and doing work. Link to the first test drive with new axle: ruclips.net/video/UOp9QyQzsh4/видео.html
@SkyBlueOffRoad I've found a 76 with chevy knuckles
Chevy is 6 lug right? I know the toyota guys use the chevy knuckles for that reason. That is the really cool thing about old dana 44 axles, many options for the knuckles.
@SkyBlueOffRoad I'm really nervous to doing this swap. I don't have much experience
Neither did I. I watched youtube to get the basics and just jumped in. I got a welder and spent a month or 2 learning to weld before I was comfortable. Best skill to learn too.
Awesome Gen 8. Nice video 💯🔥👍🏾
Thanks for watching
Put in a brass bolt and fully weld it. Brass will keep the thread integrity and won’t stick in from the heat
Right on. I am newish to welding and learning. I am always nervous I will heat warp the threads and the threads will be jacked up. I will keep this in mind on the next project for sure. Thanks fo the info
What size are your tires in this video? I plan to hit this trail in a couple weeks. Thanks!
@@VideosOffRoad 35s and 3 inch lift
Isn't the f250 Dana 44 wider? I'm trying to figure out my build also
Yes it is for sure wider. About 3 inches wider, per side. It give so much stability but it is wider. I had to use 2.25 wheel spacers on the rear to get close to the front width. I have been wheeling it and daily driving it for about 4 years now and I have adjusted and don't even notice the wide on trails now and I love the wide stance on 4'5 lift.
Big O Tire wanted $700 to fix my 87 K5 camber. You saved me a ton of money. Thanks! #skyblueoffroad! #bigotire
Thanks for the watch. This is why i made this video, to save someone some money. Cheers and best of luck out there
@@SkyBlueOffRoad Only one question. Having trouble getting stock sleeve out of my GM Corp 10 bolt. Should be the same concept correct? Thank you.
Great video!
Thank you for checking it out. I will have more coming soon. The old TJ got rear ended in a crash so i will be doing some videos on the rebuild process, some upgrades and of course more trail videos this summer
Thanks is amazing that you so much for this. while i was changing my ball joint i noticed a tapered washer and have had the hardest time finding some info on it! thanks so much
Thank you for saying this. I made this video for this exact reason, in hopes it would help someone else. You made my day.
I just watched a video from the maker and he said to take toe boot offf cause the cure has an intention to fit like the boot. I’m wondering if they changed them since you’ve tried yours.
The directions I got with it stated you can use the boot if ya wanted to use it, in muddy environments. I used the boot but over filled with grease so it ruptured the seal. Reset the boot, added less grease and it has held up3 years now. I first tried with no boot, but it did not seem to be a weather proof seal. Meaning I felt mud could get in, so I used the boot
Thank you for the content
Thank You for the content
I'm not changing the lower control loans. Is that what gives it the wobble when you hit a bump
A wobble from a bump can be a number of things. For me, theses blown out bushings were causing what is called torque steer. Step on the gass and the axle would get mis aligned and cause the jeep to "twist: under power.
Great video. Just picked up a 97 Jeep TJ and the videos like this makes me more confident that I can take on some the DIY repairs. Keep the Great content coming.
Thank you for digging it. Yeah man, it aint rocket science and most things are indeed just get in there and do it. best of luck, and I hope to put out new content at some point soon.
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
I am confused, are you aligning a TJ or a Ford axle that happens to be on a TJ. If so, I would suggest modifying the title so people don't get mixed up. Good video.
In the video i explain the axles used and why. Thanks for watching
I would say the outside of my tire is probably about half an inch to 3/4 of an inch out more than the bottom of the tire and I’m running 37 1250s. On the Dana 44 thanks ! If you can get back asap that would be rad.
I honestly did it with a digital angle finder from Amazon for $13. Not sure on inches I put it on the hub lock to find how far off zero I was per side and ordered the ones to get back to zero. Like passenger side was 1.5 degrees off and driver side was about .5 degrees off.
I have the same problem how far out was the wheel as far as inches go so I can kind of decide what degree to go with compared to what you did?
The obstacle course is cool. Reminds me of growing up. My dad was a locomotive engineer and we had N and HO-scale trains on a large board like yours. Your daughter will have those memories FOREVER!
I wish i found this video when i went down there lol. No maps were left and there was no cell service so now that i learned my lesson i have a gps and will print out trail maps from now on 🤣. Great vid!
It's always that one bolt, don't I know it. Never fails!!!
Every dang time haha
Have you been up north to walker valley yet? I know it's kinda late notice but I'm trying to get a few ppl to go there this Saturday if you want to join. 4WDTrek has some great content on the trails up there.
Not Walker yet. Saturdays are hard for me but Sundays are my free days right now. I want to get up there and Rieter again soon. I just built the radius long arm kit from Barnes and ready to put it to use more. Been at Evan the past 3 weekends doing shakedown testing and got all the bugs ironed out. Let me know when ya are down by Evans, Naches, or Elbe.
@SkyBlueOffRoad I want to go down there but I don't have a trailer and my 4runner isn't the best driving on the freeway. I have only been to walker valley and logging roads for snow wheeling with it since I got it.
I usually go out on sundays cause i am usually busy on most Saturdays as well. This is the last weekend day I have available till mid-late September.
If you haven't done it yet, Bethel ridge which is in section 2 of the Washington BDR
I was looking over those trails a couple days ago. I use TrailsOffroad app and Bethal Area is on my radar for sure. I just built the barnes4wd radius long arm kit for the front of my tj. Went to Evan yesterday to flex test, found a couple things to address but I think it is just about ready to roll out.
Man you can talk through the video
have been watching 4wd trek for couple yrs and like your content thanks for posting.i really need to do reiter sometime soon but that darn job thing keeps me closer to home(tahuya)
Yeah Doug is a great guy to show me around once I moved here. I want to get back up there to Rieter too. In Buckley so hitting Elbe and Evans more. Thanks for checking this out
I know it's been months since you posted I'm seeing this for the first time I live in olympia an I wheel almost everything in washington and oregon. My name is thomas.
Hey there. We moved her last summer from Colorado so most of my wheeling is rocks and slabs so this bud and tight trees is new to me hahaha. But I just build long arms for my front axle so i am iching to get out more this summer. Let me know if ya are out at Elbe or Evan as i live out that way.
