@@MaxximumKB ah another question, if using the stiffest configuration, will the sound of alpha will consistent like the gummy oring mount, because i fear that it will turn into traymount v2.0 ( gummy oring is also stiff, but the alpha and mods are pretty solid and consistent )

I love me some cherry scratch don't get me wrong, but the pretool batch that I had was something else. They were the scratchiest switches I have ever used after 1 mill break in, 205g0, spring swap and film. Like unusably scratchy. They were harvested from a 2000's cherry board so they were probably not the best ones out there but hyperglides have been really good to me especially after break in. Check out my Jane v2 video with hyperglides on alu. That thing sounds insane.

I got it from HypeKeyboards. I really like their plates.

I'm sorry I sold the board a few days ago so I no longer have it on hand to check. I believe if you google "usb pinout colors" it should follow those standards

The standard 1.6mm but this board uses h88 spacing so you could put a 1.2mm PCB in here if you wanted to. Currently I have it built with an h88c

Thank you! They are just krytox 205g0 on both the housing and the wires. I used to use Dielectric grease on the wires but I have had better results with 205 on TX AP stabs

Yes I did. First I tried putting on all the standoffs outside the case and trying to place the assembly into the case but standoffs would keep falling off and it was very annoying. It eventually worked but it was too much trouble. My friend recommended that I place the pcb into the case without the standoffs and then attach the standoffs from there and that works much better. Still not the easiest build process but it works much better than what I was trying before.

@@MaxximumKB thanks for the tip! Im gonna rebuild it to plateless soon too and heard it causes troubles. I even saw someone glued the standoffs to the pcb lol. Maybe i should try that

No this board is not for sale, it was a client build. I am currently selling two boards at the moment but they are not nearly as nice as this board

Just replied to your previous comment but if all you care about is typing feel then I prefer the D84. The 8x just feels like a top mount. Nothing bad but nothing mind-blowing. Would recommended getting a pc plate for either.

The 8x feels more premium overall but it just feels like a top mount. Nothing wrong with that but it's just a tkl top mount. I personally like the typing experience of the D84 better but I don't like the aesthetics and layout as much. If you like the look and layout of the D84 I would choose the D84 if all you care about is typing experience. With that said I have been using the 8x alot. Since this i rebuilt it with an fr4 plate and NK dry blacks lubed and filmed with Krytox 205g0 and deskeys

I did not lube the switches because they were so smooth stock that didn't think it was worth it. But the sound would have been better if they were lubed. From what I understand they are very similar to the coffee chip ice cream switches other than the housing material and the spring weight.

I would recommend the d84 because it is a gasket mount with a decent amount of flex due to the leaf springs. I prefer softer and flexy typing experiences so gasket mount works better for me than top mount. If you also like that kind of tpying experience i would recommend the pc plate for the d84. If not there are also alu and brass plate options.
