    Firstly - awesome shirt! Secondly - I have that copy of The Ruins on the right with the white and red lettering, I don't know if I've seen the one on the left. Those covers are so awesome man I'm so jealous! omg the whipping boy ones haha I have like 4 different books called The Ritual all by different authors not at all related in any way and its like what the heck man haha Man it sounds like you got some awesome second hand bookshops near you. I need to do some more searching in my area I'm exhausting the shops near me haha Such a bargain too I bet the shop keep's eyes were popping out their heads seeing you carry all those books haha Another great video :)

      @GrimSquirrel666 Thank you! I love Junji Ito's work. I always grab a new shirt of his if I see it. Ha, I've seen The Ritual so many times by so many authors. It's just a name like Whipping Boy is such an odd thing to have two different people come up with. Definitely expand your search area if you can! I try to stay within an hour's drive of my town. It's also a good idea to make friends with the bookkeeper! They tend to be very friendly and knowledgeable. Haha, he definitely had a surprised look on his face when I walked up with the first stack. He said, "Well, I see you found a couple that you like." Even my sister's eyes bugged a little when she saw what I had.

      @@littlelibraryofhorrors ah yeah I watched the Netflix series and read some of the books...nightmares hahaha but its great. yeah the whipping boy is quite an unusual title indeed for it to be twice haha yeah where I used to live there were heaps of second hand book stores i used to go to that had a great selection, one of them closed when the man out of the couple had passed away and his wife didnt want to handle the bookshop alone. I dunno what they did with it in the end. the other one is still going but its like a 1 and half hour to two hour trip so probably not possible at this stage which is a shame. I definitely have to do some searching though. haha I bet you made their day though :) they will see you again and be like right there goes all my stock hahaha

    • @littlelibraryofhorrors
      @littlelibraryofhorrors 7 дней назад

      @homicideseason Definitely! The Saturday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson is a perfect Halloween read. It's under two hundred pages, but perfectly captures the fall feeling and mixes in great atmosphere. Kill Creek by Scott Thomas is another one I really loved and think would be perfect for Halloween. Four horror writers are invited to spend the night in a haunted house and chaos ensues from there. It's bloody at the right times, well paced, and just a fun time overall. The twist in it is also really good.

OMG glow in the dark hahaha that would have scared the poop outta me! OH MAN! Batman Animated pop up book OMG thats AMAZING! You are so lucky! I got a comic mini series of the animated series but that pop up is great! That Tolkien book I've seen recently as reprints in regular bookshops. It doesnt look as good as that one though. Reprints rarely look as good though haha. That audiobook is cool. The cover of Lifeblood looks hell awesome! NIGHT BOAT! awesome! You lucky bugger! haha werewolves - you gotta check out Late Phases if you havent watched it already (movie) i thought it was a clever take on it. The Rock- Oh I've never heard of that one, might be interesting. Its good when I see things from/in Australia. the cover for Evil is a Quiet Word is awesome. the red and the look on the face, its like yeah something chilling is gonna happen. Looks cool. I love discovering new bookstores. that Wolfe book is so cool looking. Nice find. This was a really cool video man :) some really great finds and great stories. @GrimSquirrel666 Thank you! It's so strange; having all this extra time on my hands. It is nice to actually turn around and see that the room I just cleaned hasn't been destroyed already, haha. Although, the quiet can get to me sometimes. Too much alone time with my thoughts is hell for me. Yep! Had it on my nightstand one night, and I got up to check on my daughter, who was sleeping, and, well, no one was sleeping after I got looked over, haha. I couldn't believe my luck on the Batman find! Especially when it comes to the Animated Series. I'm genuinely shocked no one snatched that, but I won't complain! Yeah, unfortunately, the more modern reprints don't carry the same charm as the originals. I doubt I'll ever read it, but it'd be cool to skim through it once in a while, just to see what's going on in it. Love the old-time radio audiobook! I'm definitely putting those on during Halloween, haha. Probably make some tea and chill in the library while they play. Night Boat is actually a double! I'm happy to send it your way; it's better than sitting on my shelf collecting dust. I'll definitely check that out! I really want to get into the world of Werewolves that isn't tied to Twilight. The Rock looks absolutely phenomenal! I don't see many books based outside of the US, so it'll be interesting to see how that story unfolds. Evil is a Quiet Word looks spectacular! I definitely am making The Complete Book of Terror my next read. There's so many stories I've been dying to read in there! Thanks so much for watching, as always. I'll definitely have a more frequent upload "schedule" now that I have more time to focus on writing and making videos. Feels good to be back!

    I wouldn't call the cast very complex. Don't get me wrong, they're great chatacters but they're not that complex with the exception of (maybeish) Nny. Speaking of Nny, he's not exactly the one to relate to. I mean, he does have a sort of relatability if you're in your angsty teen phase, but most of the time he's a hypocrite. Personally i'm more of a Wobbly Headed Bob guy. That chatacter makes me go "He's just like me fr!"

    • @littlelibraryofhorrors
      @littlelibraryofhorrors 4 месяца назад

      I'd disagree and say a lot of the cast is pretty complex as most of them go through a lot of hills as far as growth. Sure, Nny is a hypocrite at times, but it's at least pointed out a lot. I still think he's relatable, to me personally, as we share a lot of the same thoughts when on a downward spiral. As I said, I don't agree with the murdering aspect, but humanity as a whole is a cesspool; and I can admit I'm part of that. We're human, we suck, and sometimes the self-realization hits a little too hard, which is where I can find my relatability with him. I always loved Bob in my teen years, but I think he'd be a little too depressing for me now.

    One thing with John Saul is he is pg-13 horror. Right when he has a chance to take it up a notch, he dials it down. Suffer the Children was good then the next 3-4 books after it, did the same type of story based on the Suffer the Children’s success. If you liked this book I’d recommend both jitterbug perfume and skinny legs and all by the same author. I found tom Robbins this year too and his writing is really good and relevant to today.

      Oh, I'm absolutely going to read more of his work. His prose is unlike anything I've ever read, and his characters are so unique, but somehow still very relatable.

      Hi, Maggie! Thank you so much for the incredibly kind words; it really means a lot. That's the whole reason I started my channel, to inspire others to go out and find a book that'll speak to them. It's so amazing to have a viewer from Belgium and I appreciate your time!

    My boyfriend would lose his mind if I found that Edgar Allen Poe book, he’s such a big fan of his.

      He's my biggest inspiration and my introduction to horror literature, so I was absolutely blown away when I found this. I didn't really give it much thought until I read the inside passage, and that's when I knew I found something special.
